Yea, other than Florida, I had only heard of Texas and Oklahoma.Connecticut has a panhandle? Nebraska's is bogus, it's almost as wide as the rest of the state. Maryland's is 2 miles wide at one point! You panhandle people are squeezed by other states, it must be a little odd, almost like you belong to another state.
My part of the state is called LA for lower Alabama.
When I used to cut my BIL's lawn, I would sing Mainline Florida {early eric clapton} as I cut the grass. The side yard was a perfect copy of the boundaries to the state, including all three coasts and the little jag where Alabama and Georgia meet. As I cut the grass, it was like the effects of sea level rise were causing the whole state to disappear.
