he's out.......

Shortly after the vote, newly minted U.S. Sen. Roland Burris, D-Illinois, who was appointed to the seat by Blagojevich, issued a statement saying he stands behind the state Senate's decision to remove the governor from office.
"As I've repeatedly stated, the governor must be held accountable for his actions to the legislature, in a court of law and to the people of the state of Illinois. ... Today's conviction speaks loud and clear that there are serious issues preventing him from fulfilling his responsibilities and I support putting new leadership in place."

Bring on the criminal charges....... :hump:

it would be damn nice if someone upheld the constitution in the state if IL...i doubt if any of the democrats in that state have ever read it...or they just shit on it and ignore the constitution ...a person has a RIGHT to face their accuser's ...they have a right to the evidence against him..they have a RIGHT TO call witness's in their behalf...how can he do that if he is not allowed the evidence to defend himself from the government? this is another big disgrace to this country..what a bunch of tyrants

You know, fuck Blagojevich. He's a fucking little dick sucking corrupt bastard!!! He apparently has some RATHER QUESTIONABLE ties to the HORSE RACING INDUSTRY. Yeah, ever hear of a group called the Chicago Outfit? They're basically *the* mafia in Chicago, and they most likely have ties to that horse racing industry. I won't be surprised if they find him dismembered in some cornfield outside of the city. Or maybe they will never find him, just like Jimmy Hoffa. If you break the law on such a massive scale, you will get what is coming to you, it's called karma.

Them Illinois Politicians, can you trust any of them? Long history of political corruption, only topped by Tamminy Hall.

So he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar.....
Blago's a far cry from the old school Rostenkowski days and isn't the black sheep
of politics like the media has made him out to be.
the justice department can look into every office holder
and they would all end up in rods position
....that is how the game is played on all levels, intill caught.

Again, he got caught, now he will pay the price.
I still respect the man for is veto power against some really bad bills.

Hahahaha we the IL tax payers just payed out $4 million to give rod the boot.
No car chase, no sex sceen, it was a good show, but clearly not worth $4 million for productions.
Oh well, just add it to the already huge deficit..

Blagojevich is dumb. Letterman said it well tonight, when he said something along the lines of... we can still have an impeachment and it didn't involve an airport restroom sex sting. Oh Letterman you crack me up.

Blago is the most entertaining pol since Sarah Barracuda. The man sure can put on a show. He'll be missed by me. Well, at least I still have my Sarah trying to hold onto the limelight. She seems to be posturing for a run at the presidency in '12. Please, God, let it be so. :-P

Max is bitching about Blago having a right to face his accusers, Blago is the one that refused to go to his own impeachment hearing. In his mind if he ignored it, it would just go away.

I'm going to request the next time I purchase license plates that one plate be made by Goeorge Ryan and the other one to be made by Blago.

Was it Blago's constitutional right to try to auction off a Senate seat? Were you aware that he was trying to get ahold of Oprah? We all know what her bank account looks like.

Blago was trying to get not only cash for the senate seat, but he was trying to get a better job with better benefits for his wife too.

The guy is a crook and he got caught. If he really thought he did nothing wrong then he would have taken his ass to the hearing and had something to say, but he didn't. He avoided it like the plague, until closing arguments and then he decided to show up.

He has a god complex and thinks he can do no wrong. They have been investigating him for 3 years. It's not like this a new thing. It wasn't a spur of the moment decision.

He will have the right to all of the things he said he did not get when they try him on criminal charges.HE screwed himself when he REFUSED to appear at any of the senate hearings. He did not want to testify under oath so he would not incriminate himself.Something about the guy makes my skin crawl, maybe because he was so slimy.OPH

I said he has a god complex. God complex - trash ..... not the same thing.

Please learn to read, they sell dictionarys at bookstores and you can take English classes at community college.

And as OPH pointed out, he will get his motion of discovery at his criminal trial. An impeachment hearing and a criminal trial are not the same thing.

maybe Blago can share the same cell as Ryan....... bwhhhahahahahahahahahahaha

they are not the same ..this is correct..but the constitution still applies..you want me to read the dictionary and you have never seen or touched a copy of the constitution.the declaration. the bill of rights..how about the federalist and anti federalist papers...

So you think it was within Blago's constitutional rights to try to sell a senate seat? I hate to tell you but the purchase of a senate seat is not a constitutional right.

These are elected offices, Blago had the right to appoint a senator, but not the right to exchanged said seat for cash or perks.

Although I believe Blago had larceny in mind and he thought he was slick, I also believe the Illinois legislature was on a witch hunt after he had gone around them a few times. I have no reason to dis-believe all of what Blago said on his talk show circuit. Of course some of it was bullshit, but I believe there was a feud brewing between him and the legislature for a long time and they couldn't wait to impeach his butt.
