Just did my first run coco dtw with a res and besides the res being small and not think ahead about getting the runoff out of the trays all went very well. Fed 3 times a day during the last few weeks of veg and in flower. You will like coco, oh and no pests. I have had the gnats before but this time no gnats, no dirt lol.

How was the watering like during the flowering stage? Did you have to water it more often?

3 times a day was pleanty but you can do more if you like. Just have to watch the EC, mine like about 1 EC on 3 feeds per day, but I'm sure that all strain dependant.

I'm on my first grow ever, so take my knowledge and experience with a grain of salt. Growing in straight coco with General Organics nutrients. I feed or water daily; pH with coco is best at 5.8 but I range 5.5-6.2. If it's a day I am adding Cal/Mg supplement, I keep the pH on the higher side of the range because I read that it's better absorbed that way. If I have free time and think of it, I might water plants a 2nd time in a day -- they seem to tolerate it well in coco and in their late blooming stage. The more mature the plants become, the more they seem to receive more frequent and higher concentration of nutes. When I first started out, I was not checking pH and I had some problems. Ever since, the only problem has been trying to get the perfect concentration of nutes to prevent nute burn but provide enough food. My three plants are almost finished. Will probably be harvesting the tops this week, then let the rest of her go for 2 more weeks. Happy with the results so far. Good luck!

Just moving to COCO myself why are you only adding CalMag sometimes? I thought COCO leches calcium so you need to use some form of calcium supplements all the time or is that incorrect?

Good question. Here in Europe I could not find the General Organics Cal Mag (which I think is pretty pure, and would pair well with my other GO nutes) during the beginning of my grow. Over time, no negative effects resulted. After reading that Cal Mag deficiencies may begin to show more in flowering, I decided to make it a priority to find some. All I could find was the Sensi Cal-Mg Xtra which has a lot of Nitrogen. Therefore, I have tried to give my plants sufficient Cal-Mg without overdosing with Nitrogen. So, I gave it daily for a while and then backed off a lot. Plants aren't perfect, but are doing well. I will definitely do things differently on my second grow, though.
