Lawdy son.... ur not up on the subject are you.... all those weather stations in the mountains... and rural areas.... you don't think there's some schlub walking up there and recording the data do you? Those stations are all read via SATELLITE.

The articles have always been about the satellites.... holey moley...

Satellite temperature measurements

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

Comparison of ground based (blue) and satellite based (red: UAH; green: RSS) records of temperature variations since 1979. Trends plotted since January 1982.

Atmospheric temperature trends from 1979-2009 based on satellite measurements.

Satellite temperature measurements have been obtained from the troposphere since late 1978. By comparison, the usable balloon (radiosonde) record begins in 1958 but is less geographic coverage and is less uniform.
Satellites do not measure temperature as such. They measure radiances in various wavelength bands, which must then be mathematically inverted to obtain indirect inferences of temperature.[1][2] The resulting temperature profiles depend on details of the methods that are used to obtain temperatures from radiances. As a result, different groups that have analyzed the satellite data to calculate temperature trends have obtained a range of values. Among these groups are Remote Sensing Systems (RSS) and the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Furthermore the satellite series is not fully homogeneous - it is contstructed from a series of satellites with similar but not identical instrumentation. The sensors are subject to fade over time, and corrections are necessary for satellite drift in orbit. Particularly large differences between reconstructed temperature series occur at the few times when there is little temporal overlap between successive satellites, making intercalibration difficult.

the icebergs must be melting because this lake is FULL!! yet they are still warning us of a coming drought.

this is usually a "ramp" that you have to back 40 down before you get to the water. we tied our seadoo to the telephone poles last year when we parked right there. they were at the shoreline.

you can tell me the climate is changing. you can tell me we are having a drought. but it's a whole lot easier for me to see it for myself. :bigjoint:

"THEY ARE LYING TO YOU" ....

Water Storage Levels Projected to Reach Uncharted Territory
On February 2, the Sonoma County Water Agency released water storage projections that indicate both Lake Sonoma and Lake Mendocino will reach unprecedented low storage levels if rationing is not ordered and no significant amount of rain falls over the coming months.......

is there some "secret area" of the lake that holds mass water that's all dried up right now? or do they just have their heads up their assess? if you put anymore water into this lake the marina will be flooded.

we get most of our rain during Feb and March. we are only halfway there for the year. it's all gonna get dumped into the ocean now anyway, so what are they trippin' on?

it's always something. when was the last time, "everything was OK"? has there ever been?

why don't they just build another lake if they need more storage?

damn fdd that lake looks real nice,

looks like there arnt even any lake front houses on the shores?

is it a protected area? man looks like a relaxing place to cruise

Who else saw what Obama said right after the clip that was shown? It was along the lines of even if you don't accept climate change data then there's no real downside to domestic renewable energy. It's a shame people would leave out such an important part in order to try to prove a point.

Also, cap & trade and burning fossil fuels is just lining the big dogs pockets. Simple as that.

do i take a drive to the lake first and check it out, or do i just hitch up the trailer and get on it?!?

i live a hard life. :wall:
twer it me...i would hook the trailer up and haul the whole rig to ensure everything is going to operate correctly for the "real" trip. its very imortant to be safe....and dont forget towell safety...wanna get high? :eyesmoke::mrgreen::bigjoint:

it's supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow, but i really need to do that 100 hour maintenance.

so many decisions.

There is a major problem with the NASA and NOAA numbers, according to skeptical researchers who have dissected the data: They are inaccurate, the result of cherry-picking, computer manipulation and “best guess” interpretation.
Veteran meteorologist Joe D’Aleo – a long-time critic of official global-warming statistics – says NASA and NOAA are manipulating the data, calling their actions the U.S. version of last year’s Climategate scandal.
“NOAA and NASA are complicit in the misrepresentation or manipulation of data to support the supposed [global warming] consensus,” says D’Aleo, who also heads ICECAP, the International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project.

It's .... GARBAGE science.... garbage in ... garbage out. it isn't any kind of science that credible ppl would endorse.

Wake up ppl.
let me make a prediction. once the put one of these eggheads on trial, shit will hit the fan. because in some of these coutries scientists will be beheaded. there are gonna be science goons coming out pointing fingers everywhere. you are already starting to see it. start slapping cuffs on a few of them and they will come crawlin in like roaches. watch, mark my words.

this is gonna go down as the single biggest most costlies hoax ever.

I'm not sure it will go that far, but Britain is considering filing charges on Jones. People are getting pretty pissed.

There was an article last weekend ... I was just lying around in my hammock with a nug and a cup of coffee reading... and there was an piece on how Jones is getting death threats from all over the world... and he can't understand why ppl are getting so upset?

He can't understand why.... that was a brilliant article and I chuckled more than once.

Oh, the irony.

Considering that the Earth is 4,500,000,000 years old, and we've been keeping records of temperature for the past 120 years (max) How can we possibly make any assumption about climate change and expect it to be correct.

To put it in perspective thats less than 0.0000000266 % of the Earths history.

The Earth is in a warming cycle, is it such a shock that we record the hottest decade during this time ? We only have 12/13 on record mind you so it's not hard !

We are still colder than we were during the Medieval Warm Period, FACT

That warming data from the medieval period is always discounted in the global warming community. It ruins their hypothesis.

That's not science. That's politics.

Sure....scandals and discrediting science are a big laugh....
lol how can someone discredit anything when they have such a fundamental misunderstanding of the basic's here...
you watch most deniers over time and with pretty much all of them you find out that nearly all of their doubts about AGW is pinned to some false beleif about how some things work.....

lol i just want people to have the certain tools they need for lifes many problems . being successful doesn't automatically fill up that tool belt altho many are fooled into thinking so

Guys, if you're not going to do research about any of this and just say things you've heard from other people or things you've heard on tv we're not going to get anywhere.

Evidence from mountain glaciers does suggest increased glaciation in a number of widely spread regions outside Europe prior to the 20th century, including Alaska, New Zealand and Patagonia. However, the timing of maximum glacial advances in these regions differs considerably, suggesting that they may represent largely independent regional climate changes, not a globally-synchronous increased glaciation. Thus current evidence does not support globally synchronous periods of anomalous cold or warmth over this time frame, and the conventional terms of "Little Ice Age" and "Medieval Warm Period" appear to have limited utility in describing trends in hemispheric or global mean temperature changes in past centuries... [Viewed] hemispherically, the "Little Ice Age" can only be considered as a modest cooling of the Northern Hemisphere during this period of less than 1°C relative to late 20th century levels.

Am I saying the cycle doesn't exist? Of course not. Clearly it does, every scientist agrees with that. I'm saying look at the anomalies within the current trends. All the measurements we have put a HUGE SPIKE in global temperatures rising within the last 100 years. You guys are sitting there saying "the measurements are wrong, the data was manipulated, nobody can be trusted!", I'm saying "OK, even if they are wrong, what is bad about alternative energy?" NONE OF YOU ADDRESS THAT.

For some reason all of you think it can only be about one thing - saving/protecting the environment. That's wrong. It's about dozens of things, the environment is only one of them.

Do you guys like meddling in middle eastern affairs? Do you guys like knowing we rely on foreign countries to supply us with energy? Do you like increasing the debt? Do you like keeping politicians in a place where it's more beneficial for them to lie to the American public than it is to support the Constitution? What the fuck is it? Oil is a DEAD technology. It's obsolete. It belongs in the past. It's simply not sustainable and you guys are hanging on by each and every thread.

What is your motivation for keeping oil the number one energy source for the Earth and not utilizing all the other energy sources? Too expensive? Do you know how much oil cost to drill for and refine at the turn of the century? Do you know who John D. Rockefeller was? Ever wonder how he became so rich? Innovation demands difficulties in the beginning, which leads to advancements and improvements, which lowers costs and increases quality.

Admit it, this entire fuckin' global warming/climate change debate is because you guys don't want to change any aspects of your way of life. It all comes down to you guys being selfish. That's the bottom line. If that's not the case, address those question I posed in this post, if you don't I'm just going to assume that's the case.

Nothing, I agree we should find something else other than oil, it's only going to last so long.

It's natural progression that we, as a race, find a renewable energy source and stop stripping the planet of its assets.

Do you guys like meddling in middle eastern affairs?

No

Do you guys like knowing we rely on foreign countries to supply us with energy?

Scotland (where I'm from) has more than enough oil in the North sea for us

Do you like increasing the debt?

No

Do you like keeping politicians in a place where it's more beneficial for them to lie to the American public than it is to support the Constitution?

No

What the fuck is it?

What the fucks what ?

Oil is a DEAD technology. It's obsolete.

Not yet it's not, in the near future, maybe. I think your overlooking all the other things oil creates apart from energy. We still need tryes for are hybrid cars right ?

What is your motivation for keeping oil the number one energy source for the Earth and not utilizing all the other energy sources?

Again, in Scotland, we have alot of hydro electric/wind warms and more are planned.

Oils needed for petrol for cars so I can go to work. If you've invented a hydrogen cell, please share with us

Too expensive? Do you know how much oil cost to drill for and refine at the turn of the century?

No Idea, the companys still manage to make a ridiculous profit though

Do you know who John D. Rockefeller was? Ever wonder how he became so rich?

Not really

Innovation demands difficulties in the beginning, which leads to advancements and improvements, which lowers costs and increases quality.

Same with everything really, have you seen how much a 3D TV costs !
