DAY 36 of 12/12 ~ DAY 15 of Flower
So I managed to get some pics of the girls after the lights went out last night. Man are they looking mean and green! I absolutely love this phase of their growth cycle, buds are forming up and who knows how big they'll get! I'll try and get some better pics of GSC #2 later so you can see the difference between her and her sister. GSC # 2 seems like it's just a little bit behind GSC # 1 but the buds are looking totally different. The pistils on #1 are smaller and more dense while on #2 they're larger and fewer. It should be really interesting to see how they start to form up as the days go by. My prediction, GSC # 1 is going to be the producer with many small to medium colas; GSC # 2 isn't going to produce like her sister but the colas she does have will be medium to large and could take a few extra days to finish.
The smell in the room is really starting to kick off too, even with my scrubber the room is starting to get stanky. I got my new bottle of Bud Candy yesterday so I added 75ml of that to the solution, brought my ppms up to 730. These girls are drinking a lot of water now, I'd say at least a gallon a day if not more. Maybe on my next go around I'll add a secondary reservoir with plain ol' H2O just so I don't have to be constantly topping off the system. Really it hasn't been an issue up until this point, and while it isn't a big deal, it would save me a few minutes each day, something to mull over I suppose.
Biglittlejohn, even though I am mildly annoyed regarding the shenanigans surrounding the GSC's strain lineage, I'm not upset that I shelled out some dough to get my hands on them. They've been nothing but epic growers and it looks like they're going to be continuing that trend throughout flower. Maybe I'm just a bit starry eyed as this grow really has gone perfectly, and with all my other grows I had some sort of issue raise it's ugly head, but regardless, I think these girls are gonna turn out to be some epic head stash and I am thoroughly looking forward to my first taste of the finished product. But that's awesome you got your GSC as a freebie, seed banks throw in some good shit sometimes. I got some Reserva Privada Kandy Kush freebies a little while back, loved it. Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Honestly, I took advantage of Attitudes Xmas deal and a free GSC, sage n sour and purple trainwreck are what made me place the order. I ended up buying Somango Widow, a strain called Madness by WoS (I grew it as a noob and wanted another shot at it) and a 5 pack of Berry Bomb.
My GSC looks like it is trying to push out a tap root. Last night I said Eff it and put it in a Rockwool cube that had been soaking in a combination of mykos wp, azos at a few drops of Roots Excelerator. I also germed and put a Kosher Tangie in rockwool so I have a few younglings going. WW is coming down on Saturday and Og kush in a few weeks. I plan on vegging BB and KT for 8-9 weeks.

Looking good. Let me knw if you have trouble with em. I got the original thin mint kut gsc been growing it for awhile I'm bout chop a batch in few days I'm on week 9 I'll post some pictures so u can see which one of ur plants kinda grows the same

Cool man, yea I'd love to see what you've got going. No troubles as of now but if anything does occur it'll be posted here. I expect nothing but smooth sailing for the rest of this grow, I feel like I've got em dialed in properly and they're getting noticeably larger each day. Smell is really starting to amp up, I love it when they first start to stank, it means all the time and hard work put into it is gonna be paying off real soon! Biglittlejohn, those pic attachments don't work.

They're looking real nice dsa! Your deff gonna get some monster plants in the end, I'm stoked to see how they turn out for ya. If it's truly a 63 day strain than I should have about two weeks.

Things are progressing well, buds are really starting to kick off. I tired counting all the top bud sites but I lost track somewhere are 30! And that's just on GSC #1! The girls continue to show their differences, #1 has much tighter internodes and tighter bud structure, while #2's buds are more spaced out with larger pistils but less dense bud structure. Kinda weird really considering #1 is much more sativa dominant and I would expect greater internode distance outta her and not outta #2 who is much more indica dominant. I did catch a peek of em last night after the lights went out though and man are they getting frosty! If they continue the growth pattern they're on right now, I'm in for some serious frost factor once they're ready to be chopped. All in all though, everything is going great, the girls are loving the levels they're at right now so when I go to top off my system later I'm gonna shoot for keeping the ppms around 750.
Biglitlejohn, those girls look great! It's rare that you see pics of plants that young on this site that don't have some sort of deficiency of over-fertilization issue going on, so good work! And that sounds like a killer freebie bundle to get your hands on. My last grow I did TH Seeds Sage n Sour. It turned out pretty well, I had some indoors and one monster outdoor, I ended up liking the outdoor finished product better, big yielder.

Thanks Dsa! I pushed that WW a little too hard too fast, so I have some burnt tips, but I don't really push the ppms to 450-550 until I have a few weeks of growth and then I keep em there until I am ready to flip. I think I have a decent system and routine with this thing. My goal is to improve something every grow.

Are you using air stones on your RDWC? Have you looked into a drip vortex system at all? It allows you to run organics within your setup so that you can sustain beneficial bacteria/mycorhizza within your medium and not have to deal with gunked up airstones. It seems like it would be an ideal RDWC as you get plenty of broken surface tension on the water = lots of oxygen and low power input. Plus you could run things like SOS/Roots Exelurator & Roots Organics. If you're not using a setup without airstones at this point (and I'm sorry if I missed it if you aren't), then I figured I'd just post that up as an idea. Regardless, these babies look happy, keep up the phenomenal work man. DWC appears to be your niche!

Yea I use large 6" air discs from petsmart, they work great and provide the perfect amount of bubbles for a 5 gallon bucket. With my system, there's an adequate flow of the nutrient solution so I don't get any gunk in my system and there isn't any salt build up. I've got two unused grow sites that have lids on obviously, but every once in a while I'll open one of em up to see if there's any build up of any sort but they're always sparkling clean! Talk about a low maintenance system, I love it! Organics is definitely something to consider for the future, but at this point I'm quite happy with my Advanced Nutrients lineup, and as this is my first time with this style hydro rig, it's still a bit of a learning curve for me, but isn't it always! I actually just got done planning out my next setup, it's gonna be identical to the one I'm running now but the buckets will be spaced a little farther apart and the res will be at the opening of the tent to allow for the Scrog screen to reach across the entire tent. Now that I've got these girls dialed in and I know how my system functions, the next go around should be a breeze. Don't know what strain I'm gonna run next but I kinda have my eyes on Green House Seeds Super Silver Haze. Anyone out there have any experience with SSH? I'd love to hear some grow reports to see if it's something I wanna commit to. Anyway, I'll get some new pics up a bit later, they are looking mighty fine!
