GG#4 Is Overated

Not to disrespect the breeder what so ever. I think what he has done by releasing the cut and helping spread knowledge about the best way to grow her and so forth are instances to be praised and admired in this industry.

However motherfuckers get a clone only for the first time and act like its the best plant ever. Yield is average, smell and taste are maybe slightly above, and the buzz is long lasting but imo not fulfilling. The only thing to go out of your way to praise is the physical appearance, its very frosty and very light green...... OMFG.

I expect a shit storm. Let the hate flow through you!!!
I agree with most of that. The only part I don't agree with is the yield. It's a big yielder IMO.

To me it's a cash croppers dream plant. Good in every way, but not great in any way. I'm finishing up my last GG4 plant and then I'm done with it...

I messed mine up pretty bad. Left it out in the spring and it froze. Left it out too long in the fall and it started to flower. I didn't have a cut so I re vegged it and now its growing branches again finally. So I've had it 9 months and still haven't smoked any. Seems stable.

I recently ran a GG#4 x Querkle cross that I nicknamed Gluekle and it turned out pretty nicely.

I've seen a few nice GG#4 crosses of late, best of luck :bigjoint:
Sexy! Yeah I'm about to run a #4 crossed to my buddy's best male (ghost cut x (agent orange x chemo)). He just finished pheno hunting a group and he has one that has improved trichome production, node spacing, and that prototypical glue smell with a slight orange funk twang. Also a more intense effect ;)

I'm looking at GG4 from a different view, I tried a GG4 hybrid "Locktite" by Red Eye Genetics, and my friend phenofished a keeper.. Good yield, good smell, long lasting high.. not my favorite, I felt more tired and fuzzy than up. Anyways, I liked it enough to make time to find it when I was in the mainland. It was interesting enough for me to chase it down.

So now ive passed out the cut amongst friends, one Locktite, and one GG4 and I didn't tell them what cut was GG4, I just wanted a neutral opinion on it. All they got was a number on it. Gotta be scientific about it... remove bias on it.

If you're growing for headstash and you didn't like it then stop growing GG4. If I have people screaming for GG4 I'm gonna grow GG4. Kinda how I was growing almost all cookies awhile back.. GSC is good, but not perfect, the yield is lacking.

I had some Loctite and some White Fire OG, I like the White Fire more.. cleaner clearer high..

I dunno, Im working on a GSC x GG4 project.. might as well have these elites breed and see whats up.

White fire is my all time favorite but I lost my cut a couple years ago. I had it for years before that, I'll get around to tracking another one down sooner or later. Still haven't found anything "better".

must be good a shit in my grows as im still getting 250/z for it and she takes up 85% of my room every cycle for almost 2 years now. chaos takes 10%, and 3 other strains take the rest.

mine is a huge huge yielder, very very potent, a huge feeder as well (1400ppm/water/1052ppm/water).

im betting a good % is all up the grower skill. a bad grower can make the best strain turn into SHIT, and the best grower can take a shit strain and turn it into something great. maybe the OP got some bunk ass cuts, be cause the cuts that were flowing from a certain group were spot on and always have been. and the cuts ive donated to certain people on here have ALWAYS came back for more.
A good pheno is essential for any strain.

I agree, I could give a new grower some top cuts and either they didn't let it go long enough, or they were growing it in soil, or it does better in hydro for certain qualities. I'm humble enough to admit my first, or 5th run of GG4 probally isn't as good as a guy that's been growing gg4 for years, like those guys at ICmag.

One of the guys I trade with is telling me GG4 can test in the high 20's if done right. But most people dont get those numbers.

I've been playing with GG4 since the fall of 2013 and she still maintains a regular spot in my garden and medicine cabinet today. I cannot say the same about many of the "elite genetics" floating around on clouds of hype. Then again, I am a powerful sativa fan in general and know she will not tickle everyone's fancy.

I'm tired of all the big yield BS... how can you look at the structure of GG and think it's an optimum yielder. I have at least a dozen other varieties that out yield the glue. I guess because of it's quick veg time you could get the plant larger faster, equating to an overall larger yield, but if your shooting for a particular plant size and not basing it on time there are many plants of the same size that kill this in yield. My 818 headband is over double the yield, granted ive been growing it for years but even crop 1 was 60% higher than my first glue crop. Sin Mint Cookes yields better and has a similar appearance and stronger effects. Phenotypes of Moby Dick yield better and IMO very close in quality. My Banner #3 cut murders the glue in yield...I'll just stop there.

Honestly though if you like glue buy a pack of Sin Mint Cookies. Buds are so close in appearance to glue, my pheno I would say has even has better trichome development. Sin Mint has a intense hybrid buzz with a sour lemon wafer smell and has almost an Altoid taste on the exhale.
