Getting ripped with Ripped Bubba!

Hey all, been a while since I've been around spent a lot of time here few years back.
Its funny coming and seeing some of the same threads I learnt from 4-5 years back.
Anyways enough with the jabbering on.

I recently popped 10 Ripped Bubba Jan 11.
I purchased about 9 months back ,May 2013. 10/10 popped. 8/10 in a little over 24hrs, other 2 by 48hrs.
Planted all on Jan 13th and transplanted yesterday, Jan 20th to 1 Gallon containers.

I just wanted to start a thread for people to share their experiences with these girls, or guys for those who lean that way
Show a few pics or just share your 2cents about Ripped Bubba.

Snapped a few shots today was thinking I'd might as well make a journal out of it. Help me track my progress too.
This will be the hunt for the mother.
I have about 10 strains in the fridge, but after careful consideration this is the perfect plant to start with.
I want to work on getting a new strain up and running every 6 months or so.
Anyways here it is...

For Veg Ill be running -
-4x4 Secret Jardin Tent
-4 Bulb T5 Refelector
-1 Gallon Pots/3 Gallon Smart Pots
-100cfm Exhaust - Passive Intake
-2 10" Fans for Circulation
-Advanced Nutrient 3Part GMB + B-52 and Pirahna Juice
-6 Plug 110V Powerbox - Powering Veg and Flower


I have 2 HSO Bubba Kush marked with sticks top right. Then my runts top left.
Temps have been constant. This is day 10. Nutes start day 14 I'm thinking.

I have some Ripped Bubba beans, but I'm growing Pennywise next. I was going to germinate today, but just heard the landlord has a leak in the building and will be checking apartments. So I think I'll wait 'til he disappears gain. LOL

My personal preference is to add nutes around day 21, just to about 300ppm. But I've never grown RB before, so maybe they like it a little earlier.

Hey Thanks Krypton,

I ended up giving them about 400ppm on this past Monday day 14, they loved it.
I mixed 1/4 strength Grow Micro Bloom, Voodoo Juice and B52 in to about 15L then added another 4L.
Just looking at the photos from last week cant believe its only been 8 days. These babies are growing fast.

Regarding Nutrients, I was originally planning to do a feeding every Monday but I may do it one good straight water and one with nutes.
What are others doing regarding this. Using promix.

Just watch your plant she will let you know...feed water or feed water water I'd imagine would suffice.

Week 2 Day 4

1st Pic - Group Shot - Bubba Kush Top Left 1st/2nd Row - Bottom Left 1st row is RB1 - Runts 2nd row 2 bottom - 3rd 4th 5th rows are all the RB at that I plan on cloning.
2nd - RB1 I mentioned in 1st pic beside BK1.
3rd - RB1 beside BK2 - BK1 and BK2 look nothing alike RB1 is nothing like the other 9.
4th - RB1 BK1 BK2 that order.
5th - 5 RBs from 7 I plan on cloning.

My reason for mentioning the RB1 and BKs are to show the differences.
I'm thinking of just killing off RB1 as it is nothing like the rest.
BK1 and 2 looking nothing alike so I'm thinking killing off 2 since it is stretchy.
So pretty much just kill off the 1st row next couple days.

I just see no reason in growing them - They are the largest but only by height.
This make sense to others?

Gave the crew a good watering 2 days ago, good dose of H2O mother natures sweet nectar
Took a look today they are doing good, excellent growth and healthy as can be. Best grow to date, can' wait to start flowering.
Today is day 28, I'm hoping 6 weeks Veg will suffice but I can go 8 if necessary.
Will take some shots when I transplant next few days. My order should be in any day now with my smart pots.
Debating on topping or not, may do a 50/50 split.

Any intel on Ripped Bubba stretch?

Regarding topping or not topping... I'd pick one or the other, rather than a 50/50 split. You're more likely to end up with an even canopy if you treat all your plants equally.

Should be interesting Tagh, you have a nice set up and the plants look great I'd agree with spicysativa on the topping, an even canopy makes life easier. Good luck

That's makes sense as you said with the canopy, I guess I wasn't thinking that far ahead
Well that's the plan then top the whole lot, that way I can clone them all too.
Killing off BK2 however, the stretchy one. Not feeling that one.

No dont believe so, I only had 2 Bubba Kush from HSO, 2 completely different looking.
The one I kept is short and stout, big fat leaves.
1/10 Ripped Bubba is also stretchier than the rest.
Then 2/10 Runts.
Leaving 7/10 Ripped Bubba that are all about same. Little variations

I topped the stretchy RB1 and killed BK2 tonight.
I couldn't help myself lol, but I also wanted to make sure she'd respond good.
I'm using Uncle Ben's Topping Technique.
Going to grab myself some Clonex tomorrow along with a few other things.
Top/Clone the 10 remaining tomorrow.

I'm thinking to give the crew a little time to heal from the topping before transplanting.
I'm hoping to transplant them next watering.

3 Weeks 1 Day - Day 22

Hey everybody,

Got a few shots from this morning.

I topped the whole crew today, I also took another node off RB1.
Cut at 3rd instead of 2nd yesterday. Cloned everything with Clonex/Rockwool Cubes.
Meant to take photo after topping but my order came in lots cleaning, final setup.
The runts probably could have waited for the bottom growth to grow in a little more but none the less they got it.
After about 6Hrs they were looking good. Took off 2/3 of everything that was there though so she definitely looks bare in there.

Oh ya on a sad note I decapitated 1 of my Ripped Bubba's future tops. So I suppose it will be a 3 cola plant...

just curious if your RBs are giving any stem rub scents/notes other than "plant smell"

They look great

I popped a free bean of Bubba 76 which I understand to be pre-Bubba 98 crossed with Afghan 76.
They crossed it so the plant would grow shorter or more stocky.
My bubba clones always stretch so I do some lst.

In flower they kick off some nice nugs with few leafs to trim.
I really like the strain.

Ice on the left.
Bubba 76 on the second left, front and back rows.
Dairy Queen in row 3 and
Papaya all the way to the right.
They all need to be trimmed and cloned.
Some plants were lst'd, others not.
Good canopy going for now.

These were vegged too long. 9 weeks but getting ready to move them to the flower room very soon.
All about 2 feet tall.
