general noob help on stunted growth

Setup: 500 w blackstar led running 24/7
flood and drain: 27 gal rez, h&g flakes full line, pH 6.0, EC 1.6, water temp 70, tap water 200ppm-no chloramines-set out 2 days b4 using
room temp 78F, rH 70,

Let me start by saying these plants have been through hell and back. For the first 2 wks of their life there was no A/C in the room at all and the temps were blazing around 90's. So my scenario is the room and water conditions look ok. Where I think I may have gone wrong is I put the plants on LED lights yesterday almost 1-2" away from the plants which probably caused the claw effect, white burn spots, and drying of the leaves. Anybody agree/disagree?? Today I moved the light about 1 ft above them. I started the seeds slightly over a month ago and they look mini mutant bushes about 2-3" high. This definitely doesn't look right. Anybody have similar problems or know if they're going to bounce back and grow bigger? I'm definitely worried about herms at this point. It also looks like I'm seeing pistils or something. Is this normal at about a month?

On a side note I have the plants in 8" net pots. It takes the pumps 30 min to get 1-2" to the bottom of the rapid rooters they're in before the pump stops. Is this ok? Also do i have to put them in something bigger like bigger blocks of rockwool to grow out or can i just leave them in hydroton for the rest of their lives without putting them into bigger cubes?

should i be doing anything else at this point? thanks

In my opinion your plants look like they are magnesium deficient coupled with a ph problem.
The purple stems is from a lack of magnesium, and the wierd look of your plants is from an improper PH and/or stress.
Since your plants are lacking magnesium, you essentially burnt your plants by putting the light too close to your plants, too suddenly.

I dont want to give you any advice with your set-up, since Im more fixated with organic soil growing and lack hydro experiance.
But watch your ph and see if its drifting up (more alkaline). Sometimes the PH can vary after from the time you check it, to a few days later.
Go buy som Cal/Mag for your magnesium deficiency and hit em up with a little less than the recommended dose. 5-6 days later use the full recommended doseage, and remember to add a little Cal/Mag every time you add fertilizer, except for the last couple weeks before harvest.

i should note the pic on the left with the burnt white leaf is holy grail and the one on the right is purple wreck. In the middle pic the front row of plants are all purple wreck.

i justed browsed through some of the deficiencies mentioned on the plant problem look-up post and i don't think its low magnesium because the symptoms include leafs curling up. Mine are curling down. And I already add calcium to the tank when I fill up my rez.

can anybody else possibly help or is rollitup just a bunch of failed farmers like myself??? please read first post. lots of questions. any response at all would be a big help, assuming you have answers. little help here people. . . .

They are overfertilized...that is why your leaves on top are all squiggledy, and the leaf tips are browning.

It is not a magnesium deficiency, simply because that plant is too young to have any deficiencies that weren't poured out of a bottle...

and do you leave water just sitting with them like that all the time, because you will end up with all manner of algae and what not in your rez...when the nute water sits under lights it makes algae like a mofo, and then the algae ends up in the rez and messes up the O2 and pH and all manner of everything.

You can leave them in the hydroton, but make sure all the water drains all the way out. You don't ever want the plants just sitting in still water if you can help it.

they're in a flood and drain. pump kicks on every 4 hrs. it takes 30 min to fill the tray up 1-2" from the bottom of the rapid rooter plug they're in. so no, the water drains back down. i'm using the h&g feeding schedule. matter of fact i'm actually a few weeks behind their schedule since it took so long to get growth coming in. so should i add more water to dilute the nutes?
