Gas Lantern, How Much Supplemental Light Does it Take?

I need to move my early vegetative plants outdoors a month early. Just how bright of supplemental light does it take to keep them from flowering. I only need two hours tops. We're at 13 hours of daylight now in Zone 8 Central Coast, CA.

Will one 250W Par (40W actual) LED floodlight pointed right at them from 15' away do the trick, or do I need more?

Thanks.

when we were looking at rescue dogs, we had never even heard of a boerboel!! what's his/her name? ours is Egypt. she's 9 and a half .

Ours is Tank. He's close to the same age. We had a rogue mountain lion eating dogs in my area...the biggest a German sheppard. When our last dog died I did a bunch of googling and found that Boerboels guard sheep from leopards and hyenas in Zimbabwe, so I got him. No issues with mountain lions. He's even killed a coyote :wall: He's been a handful for sure, but wonderful with my grandchildren.

she has developed quite the taste for deer shit since we've had her. then randomly she decides to roll around in it too. maybe that's telling us she wants a bath??? lol. but yeah, i feel bad for whoever decides to mess with our daughter if she's around. she'd tear them a new one.

great to see another Boerboel owner!!! i would get another one in a heartbeat.

Haha. Same with Tank, only he prefers horse shit. We're going to get another one too. I love that dog.

I just use regular led bulbs in the 10-15w range and it works fine. My timer is set from sunset to midnite. If your light is off to the side a bit, you might get some branches on the shaded side wanting to flower, i'd try to get the light more directly above your plants.

if you want to run the real GLR, it's this:
12 hours lights on, followed by 5.5 hours of lights off, one hour of lights on, and then 5.5 hours of lights off

so 2 hours of ON should be plenty
Exactly! This is also my veg cycle indoors and my veg plants are kicking butt! Staying in veg, growing just as fast if not faster compared to 18/6, more bushy + saving money on electricity.

make string lights or buy them. they are easy to make and you can space the bulbs as you wish. I recommend a minimum of 60w equivalent led bulbs over your plants/canopy no more than 5 ft away from plants. I have done this many times for years. Some plants will trigger if the light itsnt bright enough. I do midnight till sunrise. If for full term outdoor ill dial the light back slowly before killing it in mid june
