We had a cold-spell up here but it passed and we've had temps in the 70's and last night was almost as warm as the day. Gonna drop a bit but temps hanging in. Really strange to see so cold temps over there. I'm wondering if the fires in California are causing the weird weather? Smoke has been seen as far as Finland from the fires.

Way to hang in there GG. Mother Nature's going to have to throw a lot more than a few frosts at you to mess with your harvest.

When you get a sec. I'd love to hear in some detail your harvest practices. If all goes well I may be doing some cutting next weekend as well, and hopefully the weekend after. Sounds like we've got some rain on the way this week after a tremendous dry spell, so we'll see but fingers are crossed here.

I'll post my weekly update on my thread later today.

When you water do you shoot for about 5g per plant? More?
Yes 5 gallons a plant.
Sooo as far as harvest it really depends on the plant but... I usually take about foot and a half to 2 feet off. I take all of the fan leaves off and leave the sugar leaves. I then put about 4 to 5 on a hanger and then put that hanger on a line. I do have a fan in the room for circulation but not blowing hard and never at the buds.
With the long stems and the sugar leaf still on it takes anywhere from 10 days to 2 weeks to hear the snap in the branches.
At that point I take a couple of branches and take all the buds off and throw it in a jar with a hydrometer and check the rh. If I'm on target (between 62 and 55) it all comes off of the stems and gets jarred...or bagged or however I do it that yr. I burp them a couple times a day for a week. After that they are stored away till I need some.
The most important thing is to dry slowly...too fast and you will have a hay smell that wont go away.
Also the dry trimming is awesome because it releases a lot of terps all over again.

The damage was from a week ago or more. It's the only strain that got hit. Progressively got worse looking. Other then that we have been warm just lots of rain. Suppose to get down to 26 on Friday again but warm back up after that. That is why I left the leaves on... they are dying but not totally dead yet and I wanted them left on for the next frost to finish off

Good tech. Here is a pic of how I do it. Same method. Just clothes hangers. "Heavy Duty" or they sag. And a bucket full of those cheap black spring steel paper clips. I like temps between 50 and 65F. About 45% RH. I shoot for 10-12 days hang time. When the stems break with a crisp snap it is off to cure. 001.jpg

Nice... I use clothes pins to keep the hangers from sliding around :)

I'm dreading this 15' x10' clean up and hang this year.

Extreme defol due to PM. Just got healthy a week ago. When this was taken. I'm not under the weather any more. I'll try to get a current pic of a couple plants I'm happy with. Was almost a total loss year. Craziest gremlins I have ever seen. 004.jpg006.jpg

Hey gurl!!

As always, a beautiful grow! I was up at Island Casino in the UP a few weeks back on a golf trip and wondered how close I was to you. Different weather than down here, for sure.

Harvest is almost here. I wanted to get your opinion on hygrometer meters and curing as we get there.

Have a few nasty shitty days coming. Will be watering with some silica just a gallon or 2 a plant everyday that it will frost. Fingers crossed. After that it will be warmer again. 20200930_045253.jpg

Seeing the lack of leaves on the trees in the last shot is all I need to know about what is about 2 weeks out for us down here.

We have frost warnings all the way down here to tonight too, so good luck, gurl. I was going to chop Monday anyway, so I will get some added colors to my girl at least.

How do you finish plants when the temp drops mid-late October. Mine just stall...don’t really do anything....or maybe I just get impatient? Regardless, mine will be done within 2 weeks....hopefully.

Hmmm I notice they still grow just much more slowly. What I'm looking for is mature trichomes tho. I'd rather they be matured as possible vs just having big pre mature buds.
It's been cold as shit here and it's been since sunday that i seen them and the buds doubled in size. Maybe because the manure keeps my roots warm?
