Freezing weed after harvest

So I froze a nug for no particular reason and smoked it 3 weeks later straight out the freezer into my bong with a blowtorch. All I can find on google is that major growers are freezing weed and sending it to extract labs. Is this viable for just tryna smoke the herb? Does thc still develop while frozen?

I used too, but read over and over not to because it will degrade, and the trichomes break off easily, so I quit doing it a few years ago.

Hmm.. I'm gonna play around with this now for my next harvest and put some in the freezer and some cured regularly cause that nug looked super green still, still smelled dank, and got me pretty high. Maybe a combination of the two? Freeze for 1 or 2 weeks then let defrost and dry then put away to cure. Time for science

Did it once myself to try it, also for no reason, would not do it again hence there´s isnt any reason for me atleast to do it.

Only reason I can think off, would be in case people get raided by the police, never known anybody who got busted/raided where the cops looked in the freezer.

Happy Easter...

I use a Freeze Dryer for my harvest. Freezing my weed doesn’t seem to harm the trichomes at all. I have a limit of about 9-950g that fit in my medium size harvest right freeze dryer. I had to freeze some bud before being freeze dried because of lack of room and they came out fine as well. Here’s a pic of some of my LSD that was freeze dried

Trimming then freezing the fresh plant material is the first step in making live rosin. Next you wash it with ice and water, collect the resulting hash and freeze dry it, then press it out with a rosin press.
That was some good info as I honestly started growing specifically to make rosin to hopefully help with my mom's arthritis. Thank you for that.

Is a freeze dryer different from a regular freezer?

That's a good point, does freezing keep dogs from smelling it?

Yeah, there is a big difference. It uses sublimation to slowly withdraw out the moisture from product after bringing everything down to a frozen state of -30 to -50F. Only takes about 16-18hrs from start to finish to dry and cure your weed from harvest. I place it in a paper bag for a few hours to regain some moisture in the buds and you will not find a stinkier place too be then my place when that happens. No hay taste/smell, buds keep same harvest shape and colours. Plus when in jars, place a booster pack in and let her be. No need to burp them once they are jarred, and I have some Mylar bags too. Finally had to open one and buds were fine 6 months later. So I apologize for all the pics but here is my LSD I harvested this past September, which should of gone 7-10 days longer but I was impatient and wanted to try the machine. First 2 pics are the buds at their wet weight going in, and the rest are the after pics

if you do buy one, save a little more and go with the oilless pump. If you take the default oil pump, you gotta change the oil after each use. To Canada the medium dryer with oilless pump was roughly $6300 Cnd which I split the cost of with 2 other family members. What are amazing are freeze dried sour skittles, like candy crack. Basically the drying process causes the centres to expand and become puffy crunchy candy. Same thing happens with soft chew caramels and come out looking like shiny mini potatoes. I shall post some pics of my freeze dried LSD I had to ground up. If you look close enough, you can see the trichomes are pretty much unharmed.

Def gonna do that. I'm not like a super environmentalist but the less oil the better
