OK, so if there are a million different reasons why people are poor, why do your arguments generalize them as stupid/lazy?

I've been at both ends of the spectrum throughout my life. When I was poor it was because I was either being stupid or lazy. I know what it takes to be successful. I make my own choices and hold MYSELF responsible for where I am today.

Do you think the fact that a tiny fraction of the population has garnered the overwhelming majority of economic gains, http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/28/upshot/gains-from-economic-recovery-still-limited-to-top-one-percent.html?_r=0 , or that the minimum wage has gone down since the 70's, http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/05/20/5-facts-about-the-minimum-wage/ , or the cost of higher education has increased at a rate higher than healthcare, housing and energy, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle-class_squeeze , has anything to do with it?

Yes, I think there are numerous factors that have gotten us to where we are today. Most of it has been influenced by greed. Greed coming from those who hold power. No matter what happens though, there will always be greed among humans.

I desire everyone to have the chance to be happy and live a fulfilling life. I would never wish being poor on anyone. I would love for everyone to have the same opportunities as everyone else. I just don''t see a realistic way for this to ever happen.

Do you think your list of things that need to be changed will actually ever happen? What do you think needs to happen in order for these changes to occur?

Yes, I think fixing everything on that list will happen. It won't happen overnight, and it won't happen at the same time, and things like ending corporate welfare and raising the estate tax will likely happen after campaign finance reform

I believe the liberals are running the schools of higher education and they write the checks, so do you think they are paid too much as the reason it cost so much?

I know that the coach for the ducks makes several million dollars for one football season and that seems a bit extreme to me, but maybe there is that much money made playing games , i really don't know. And I wonder what the administration gets paid? I bet it is a lot. So in a way you can't blame or whine to everybody for the cost of higher education when the liberals are running the whole show in higher education. Evidently the liberals think they deserve to get paid good and they say how much the kids are going to pay. So you should focus on the liberals in charge of that problem.

But I will agree that the cost for higher education is a little over the top. And good luck convincing the liberals that they charge to much because it is a tuff group to reason with and you won't win in the end. But keep up the good fight.

You wonder what college admins get paid, meaning you don't know. You bet it's a lot, then formulated this entire post based off that assumption, then blamed it on liberals "because they run the show"..

This isn't even worth addressing

If raising wages increase a businesses profits everyone who owns a business would voluntarily raise their pay.

I keep hearing a lot of contradicting "facts".

I don't have a problem with raising minimum wage, I just don't think it would solve anything. It goes far beyond being that simple of a fix.
By that logic, why should companies pay any money at all? Why not pay in Trident gum?

The reason it costs so much is because they know students will use/get thetuition loans to pay for it.

If someone says they have a credit card with an unlimited balance you try sell them more shit, not give them a discount.

It should be 100% taxation funded, the investment in education pays massive dividends far beyond the cost.

idk about massive dividends lol.im a HS dropout who came from a very poor family living in detroit, single mom for alot of my childhood.we learned from mom to work hard, not schools lol.so now i still have no "real education" yet i own my own biz and i also have 6 employees currently and 2 of them have college degrees, 1 has a 4 year at mich st and one has a 2 year biz degree from central.these guys dig holes in dirt for a living and are no smarter than the other 4 guys working for me,in fact my new foreman is also a hs dropout with a 18 month old child,he works 40-50 hours a week with us and another 35-40 at night.and he works that second job so he can buy things for himself like the new harley he just got.and my son-in -law just finished 4 years of college and is now stuck paying off a 40,000.00 debt that his parents said they would help with but dont.he works at costco now, decent job but not even close to the field he went to college for.now im not trying to say college is bad,but its not for everyone, and its def not the end all to a bad economy.i make over 100,000 a year for the past 7-8 years, some years are much better than others.the taxes are a fucking joke,my insurances are a fucking joke, workers comp, ect ect.your damn right i try to find as many tax writeoffs and deductions as we can.and we have looked at getting an offshore account but we aint that kind of rich yet lol. it all comes down to gov overreach imo,its just too damn big and takes too much money to fund.and that just makes me mad we all let it get so big and out of control.look at texas, how the hell do they have such low taxes and balance the budget?they cut out the fat(pork)
hows cali workin out,or better yet baltimore lol.its true baltimore has more money per student than most areas of the country yet they graduate few kids than most,GO DEMS lmao

tuition rates sored after the loan companies got the law changed so you can no longer write off student loans in bankruptcy......before the schools could only charge what the banks would loan students. But now they will loan you the Moon...

there's no way i could tell by your post that you are a high school dropout.

maybe the republicans should make higher high school dropout rates part of their party platform?
