Fluoride in water

I bought a house that has well water. I had to get the house inspected by the VA before they would approve my home loan and they ran a test on the well and added fluoride to it. I remember clearly because I was expecting to see chlorine on the paperwork, but no. I didnt think much about it and just thought that it would evaporate off like chlorine does, but no, it has to be charcoal filtered to be removed. I thought that it would be a disinfectant, but no, I am finding out that I dont know shit about Fl. I took college chemistry 1 about ten years ago, but that dont mean much...

@kmog33 From what I saw, you know your chemistry. Would Fl have a real affect on the microbiology in my soil? Would you know if run-off from an R/O water filter would be any better than tap? I have been using run-off lately without any noticeable affect. I think that I have been able to brew AACT straight from the tap? Time for a microscope lol...

http://fluoridealert.org/articles/50-reasons/

In Europe, only Ireland (73%), Poland (1%), Serbia (3%), Spain (11%), and the U.K. (11%) fluoridate any of their water. Most developed countries, including Japan and 97% of the western European population, do not consume fluoridated water.

In the U.S., about 70% of public water supplies are fluoridated. This equates to approximately 185 million people, which is over half the number of people drinking artificially fluoridated water worldwide. Some countries have areas with high natural fluoride levels in the water. These include India, China and parts of Africa. In these countries measures are being taken to remove the fluoride because of the health problems that fluoride can cause.

we're on well water too. fluoride is natural in water coming out of the earth.

why would they add fluoride to your water? they usually add it to muni water, not well water. and like the later post, it doesn't do crap to prevent cavities in teeth. insert gov't conspiracy theory here.
I have been drinking nothing but R/O water. I make coffee, juice, dog water, and cook with it. It really made a difference in the flavor of the coffee and plain r/o water taste great! I have a 64oz water cup that I try to keep full at all times.

Be careful with that. RO water will strip the calcium right out of you. No BS. There are some benefits but the disadvantages seem to outweigh them.

I'd say keep on with using it for cooking and coffee, but don't make it your main source of drinking water.

And fluoride in your water is fine for your plants.

Very interesting that the fucking VA Added Flouride to WELL WATER! Corrupt pieces of shit. You just paid them to dispose of more of their Toxic Waste. I would have raised hell adding shit to MY WATER! If your not selling the water to people who gives a fuck what you do with your water. Sodium fluoride is an Aluminum industry toxic waste and Hydrosilica Flouride is from the ohp who the Phosphorus fertilizer industry Toxic Waste!

Toxic waste which these companies should HAVE to Pay to Dispose of PROPERLY yet they fucking Sell it to the state and companies to Add to our water and food supply.

Fluorosis anyone...

Hahaha!

It Does add Density and Whiteness (some specific term) to teeth and bones, BUT it cause a Decrease in Tensile Strength which is what Really matters anyways. Just because it's dense doesn't mean it won't break easy.

Interesting why does it strip calcium?

Honestly I don't know exactly why, except that pure water will leach the metals right out of pipes, and apparently it leaches it from bones as well. That link is to one of the studies by the WHO. Not to be confused with The Who.

Just imagine feeding your plant RO without a CalMag supplement.
