floraflex and autofeeding

I have a setup that is hard to reach the back of, and I want to set up this floraflex round matrix system. I want to start with one bubbler head and 8 sites.
I plan on getting the discs, with the pads, and the dippers, and tubing

What I could figure out, but really would love some advice on is how to setup the autowatering pump side of the system. The kits they have show a 264 submersible magnetic drive pump. I was thinking about how I would do this, and the easiest way to set it up.. I was just going to buy the same pump they offer on an 8-site kit.

When the bucket goes low, wouldn't I want some sort of float to get rid of the extra water? And then what am I going to do with the water the pump didnt suck out ?
I was thinking of running a flexible black hose into my tent through a low parachute port, then make a manifold on the ground with a riser in the middle for the "bubbler"

before I go about trying to do this myself, I would really like to see others input on this!

I'm not real familiar with the floraflex setup, can't offer much help other than tagging @bk78 , pretty sure he's running a floraflex setup. Maybe he can offer some insight

Maybe @TintEastwood too?

(Edit. Oops. Just realized you had already seen the squares in my thread. Srry for dup info)

I'm using the square caps for my fabric pots because of their simplicity. My local hydro hut guys suggested it over the round dealios.

in my expierence 1 bubbler per 4 running matrix is best....i split my lines also and the watering was terrible i was also running a decently sized pump

thanks! will do. I was going to do Tee's off of each so figuring 8 per head but thank you ! i would rather just buy 3 heads for now it will help combine the shipping, as long as that pump will suffice ? I was thinking a good way to run the system would be to make a few flexible lines going out

I think the matrix wicking pads will be nice to use in the winter on my airpots to help watering frequency it is a huge problem taking them out and making a dirt mess to get to the back ones, then I will only use the discs without pads in the humid months

What size pump would you recommend for 1-3 heads? I was going to get the restrictors for it , so I can adjust flow rates on each. I plan on running a 1" main line up to a flexibile hose splitter or something where i can add on the bubbler heads as needed and design each of the PVC systems to support the head riser almost like a stand with a flexible hose between it and the reservoir so I can modulate and move things around for cleaning and whatnot easier!

The matrix comes in 12 pack discs, so I guess I would want 3 of these bubbler heads for the order.

I wonder what size pump I would want for all of this; I don't see a calculator but I want to be able to range anywhere from 1-3 heads. Does it matter if there is resistance on the pump if I oversize it a little for some stages and its a magnetic drive? Or do I just get a really good timer?

What type of timer would you recommend?

I wonder if theres a timer that has an option of adding a moisture probe, like an irrigation type timer for a decent price that would be interesting.

I really don't know where to start here, and am really excited to pull the trigger on this for next grow

thanks!

yea i did the tee thing and ended up getting drips and i was using open head bubblers. i was using one of those 700gph ecos for 2 bubblers but ended up upgrading to a 3960 leader pump. i did the 3/4 pvc but will probly also upgrade to 1" ....thats one thing i skimped on was the pad.....i still run open flow heads.....if your on ig diy_growguy shows his setup he uses flexible hose to feed his lines on his tables. pretty nice

mmmm tables... I wasn't thinking of drainage of runoff.. it could be an issue later but typically the water from runoff dries out and actually helps keep my humidity good. Is this a bad thing in late flower? I end up around 10% runoff. It is like 30% humidity here right now and I have a humidifier running but my house is airy too. I keep a nice distance between the floor and the bottom of the canopy with plenty of circulation between them and above the canopy as well with the extraction fan high

adding tables and a drain bucket would be nice for space because I could keep things tight. I like planning things thoroughly and this is solid, if i put my fan on top of my tent I can raise my LEDS up and build a table, lift my plants up and level the table out to keep the matrixs level for even water distribution on the plates

The flow restrictor heads may be an issue now that I'm thinking about it, the open flow heads couldn't get clogged up as easily huh?

Do u still run the round matrix? And if so do u use the pads ?
