i am new to growing in side. when i run mu dehumidifier it blows hot air is this normal? makes my room get pretty damn hot. maybe its to big for my room
Depends on the type of dehumidifier really. My portable AC/Dehumidifier pumps out cold air in the front, hot air out the back. If you want AC then you hook up the hose and pump the hot air outside. If you only want to dehu, then you remove the hose and the cold/hot air even out.

I prefer portable A/C instead of a strait dehumidifier, that way you always have the option of hooking up the hose and pumping the hot air outside if you want to.

the hot air is the dehumidified air

i am by far no expert

but to run a sealed room ac and seprated dehumidfier is needed
my oppion

all an air conditioner is is a dehumidifier put together a little differently with the hot air kept seperate from the cold. running both would be redundant except in the most humid of conditions

wrong thred to get into this so last reply clogging up flo thred

i am gonna use my room for exsample

my ac kick on maby 3-5 times during light cycle and not at all during night cycle

yet in my room (100 % sealed) humidty shoots up over 80 % in about 45 mins during light cycle if dehuimdfier is shut off have not cheak during lights out but dehuimdfier runs more at night then day.

and so to not be redundant i should unhook my dehuimdfier and just deal whith conditions

there is a reason pepole pay 12-1400$ for santa fa dehumidfiers (i have a cheapy from wally world) and still have massive ac/chillers cooling there rooms

the bottom line is your ac should not run all the time there for it will not control huimdity to the point a good grow opt needs and after spending all the money sealing the room and setting up co2 why slack on a 200$ item that will help maintain perfect growing conditions and infact be a major peice to the puzzle :peace:

im not trying to keep em short, just flowering from clone to see how much i can get off 30-35 kiddos flowered from clone.. im expecting anywhere from a half lb to an lb hopefully, and yes now that i am sealing my room im going to have to get a seperate dehumidifier.. i already have a RH controller so ill just plug it in with the unit and will be good to go

I switched from Horizontal to Vertical last night and today my room temps have shot to 93 and cant keep co2 in the room to save my ass as the ventilation is on all the time. Shut off co2 liquid cooled by hydroinvations. Will take it off ppm 3 and time it I guess. You having these issue with ther vertical lights? Or do I do as the master heath would and just turn off the co2 and just let the exaust and intake do all the work. Penny for anyones additional thoughts for this beet up topic but I do know the stomata closes around 90 and yada yada and co2 is expensive. May your smoke be smooth.... O my room is six x 12 x 10 with 3kw ( 2 hps and a mh) Doing a tree grow like captain heath robinson.

na stomata dont close at 90 with 1500ppms of co2.. it has to be at least 85 to be able to utilize the increase in co2. i have been running at about 89-93 and my plants look absolutely amazing right now.. (ill post pics tomorrow or maybe later haha)

what i am doing is getting my portable ac, and hooking it up to pop on at 89.. i want to keep it 89 constantly, co2 at 1500-1600ppm and a constant light cycle..

oh ya and today is day 1 of flowering, 4/20 haha

ok now i gotta snap some pics LOL

so without vented lights are you ripping through the co2 then? Should I time the ppm3 or loose the gas all together? My burner went from once every four minutes for 20 seconds to on all the time and the water in my cooling tank for my hydrogen is boiling cause I dont have a chiller. Thanks for the stomata info you grow looks great I'll snap off some photos and get my journal going trying get up to speed with You and Heath. Thanks for the quick reply.

Day 1 of flower is here.. girls are nice n big my clones are well rooted and got transplanted yesterday, and its time to get this show on the road!!

i have 4 that are small and i dont know why, they are the ones on the top left rack.. its kinda odd LOL but the rest of the system is filled out quite nicely.. they are really bushy so once they start stretching, im sure ill be moving lots of pots around for maximum efficiency

these are some extremely healthy plants, huge fan leaves, nice n bushy.. im gonna need a dehumidifer for sure cuz these babies are gonna be sweeeatin gettin thick!

i know this harvest will be much better than last time.. right now they are about the size they were finishing last time, and they are much bushier, so its going to fill out much better..

the ebb n flo table has 30 something kids in it.. one is that huge squirrly satia i was talking about, and the rest are gdp. about half have been in there for a couple days, and half were put in yesterday.. im not expecting all of em to live, because thye may stunt or whatever but i figured what the hell LOL..

enjoy the pics and feel free to ask questions.. ill update again when i get my AC all hooked up and the co2 flowing

Well since going vertical I cant control the damn temp and thus the co2. Either need a bigger ac or just have to go the way of air exchange. Got this fancy ass liquid cooled burner and still cant keep the room lower than 94. Do Ac loose their ummph after a couple years?
