I think I may have nats "fruit flies" any suggestions on controlling them. I was gonna try a "fresh chili pepper" tea to mist her leaves with anyone got any other thoughts?

I gotta get some mag cal in there as well as blackstrap molasses, did u know that the "blackstrap" molasses has all the trace minerals such as calcium, magnesium etc. etc. I wiki'd molasses and learned a lot about the 3 different types of molasses. So I'm gonna go to the store today and get a mag cal sup. As well as some molasses. Oh yea. About my mag cal decision, I'm noticing some "tinting" not visible in pics, but I caught it with my eyes after taking the pics. I'm noticing a slight purple tint on the main vein of the darker fan leaves. So I know that the purple stems is normal inthe first signs of flower, and I had a purple seedling stem, but something is telling me that I need some cal mag, so this whole grow has been based on gut intuition (nothing is scheduled aside from the lights) I feed her when I feel she needs it, I water when I feel she needs it. I mix the ferts to how I feel I need to. And it's gotten me this far, so I must be doing everything right. So I'm gonna stick with my intuition and see if I'm a "natural" green thumb. Legit I only have the lights on a schedule. Everything else is controlled by my feeling. I haven't watered her in 3 days (of dry soil) and I don't feel I need to, so I'm gonna flush tomorrow and start on a new cycle of ferts that will consist of; (the constant thru the whole fert Phase) big bloom, tiger bloom. Now I am going to ass a mix of cha Ching and beastie blooms, for 2 weeksish, than cut out the cha Ching and just go with the constants and beastie blooms until I fining flowering than flush before harvest. Sounds like a good plan.

yea i wanted the blackstrap molasses because its the best. but the supermarket near my house only has unsulphured so i got this Grandma's Gold standard robust molasses lol. pretty good stuff, potassium 5%, calcium 6%, magnesium 6% and iron 8%. grace loves it!

It's best to get unsulphated because sulfur is a salt type, so it will leave behind excess salts in the soil. From what I gathered from the wiki was that there are 2 types of molasses sulphated and unsulphated, than there are 3 classes within the 2 types which would be single boiled, double boiled, and finally "black" molasses, which has less sugars, and more minerals and vitamins. So good job on getting the right one due to the supermarket lol. I'm gonna go see what my a&p has. Will post up! Btw I've heard good things about grandmas gold. Good shit steve.

Gotta see how I'm gonna controll these flies before they suck penny dry, and before I start the molasses (cuz they will quadrupole when I add MORE sugar to her). Fuckin insects. Little bastards is more like it. Lol

EDIT: I also gradually (over the past 2 weeks) changed the light timer. Penny started thriving when I got down to 10 hrs light and 14 dark and she popped open like nobody's Buisness. So I shall see if it make any bit of difference. I'm trying to emulate outdoor conditions as much as possible indoors (misting [rain], temp changes, drought, over watering, not ferting on a schedule etc etc) "keeping her guessing" I guess u can say. I'm treating her like a member of my family, but also like a weed. So I let her do her thing and I hope for the best. I have music playing in the room and I talk to penny (seems crazy lol) but she's talking back cuz I'm listening to everything she tells me she wants. So we will see. Right? Lol

Btw I planted penny in the bullshit mg potting soil on may 15. So I'm goin on 3 months. That's why I say I'm not gonna get that great of a yield, so I'm looking at another 4-5 weeks of flowering time. I just looked at the "events" of my phone pix and I found the seedling pics lol. So yea, penny and I have been thru some stress together and shock. All in all she looks healthy now and green so 3 months and going strong! Lol

hey man dont let a bad yield get you down... all you can do is plan a little more for the next one and go from there!

K so I flushed penny today and used my shower head to knock off any bugs and flooded the soil. Got some goodies today such as some distilled water and this.

Ur plant looks good. Quick tip u should lay off the hydrogen peroxide it kills the beneficial bacteria and fungi. Oxygen in the water is all about the water temps and an air stone

Paper, j's all day err day lol. I use the roor at night. To be honest the roof is amazing don't get me wrong, but I think an illadelph, or a USA glass will do ya just fine. That's the roor little sista, which is one of those mean little sisters that punch u in theface. Anyway, I digress.

So as of today penny's water mix is this, 1/2 TBL spoon molasses, superthrive, distilled water. No more tea or any of that shit. Her nute water is still the same in addition to the molasses and we shall see in maybe 2 weeks if I need my cal mag supplement.

Calling out computer techies/electricians, I have an old xbox 360 power supply, not the power supply takes 120v AC and converts it into 203watts of dc. Now with that being known that it IS a digital ballast, would I be able to use it as some sort of light power supply? Cuz I want to try to make an LED light and I have this and if I can get away with using the psu without buying a dc converter and a rectifier (cuz te psu is rated for 6.3 amps. I believe) which would be a rectified 200watt ballast, correct? May be a new cheap LED power supply. I'm gonna do some more digging on this topic, but please if anyone one here knows anything of what I'm talking about please drop a line. Il keep u posted, I'm going to get some bigger cfls now. Look how small the 26 watt cfl is in comparison to the 68 watter.

Ok so watts is a measure of power output, and lumens is the actual light output. So how can a 68 watt bulb be the equivalent to a 300 watt inconsecient? I should be ok on light for now. I'll post up a few pics since the flush. She perked right up overnight. Pics to follow later on.
3 68 watt cfls to help the others. So now I'm in the area of 300 watts of light and around 14,000 lumens. So hopefully we should see some bud production in the next couple of weeks.

Damn i cant believe it went 10 pages before someone mentioned to can the hydrogen peroxide. Also properly established beneficials will control your PH so dont try to fight it because they are in charge. especially considering you made it this far with seemingly very little ph control shows that those beneficials are helping alot

I say check out this thread. its got great advice on beneficial microbes mostly for hydro purposes but the way they say to make the tea can save you money. And works just as well in soil
