Cloudy those "equivalent" numbers can't be directly used for our purposes. They are saying a 27 watt cfl is equal to 100 watts of incandescent light, which doesn't really count.

I have two 27 watt 5500k cfls, four 20 watt 5200k cfls, one 20" 20 watt 5200k cfl, and two 24" 20 watt 6500k cfls. For a total of 184 watts. This is not including any sort of equivalent factoring, just straight wattage according to the package.

184 watts is not bad for 3 plants in veg, no?

I now have three lights in the front, four in the back, and the two 24 inchers on top so a plethoera of light from all angles for my babies!

I watered them today, adding a drop of superthrive and 1 tsp of Fox Farm Grow Big per gallon. Plant #1 seemed a bit droopy today, needed some water I think.

They are in these four gallon buckets. How much should I be watering at one time? I want to soak the soil all the way through...I used about 7.5 cups per plant today. Thoughts?

ow ok now i get what u mean ok sorry
i know u must have holes in the bottom off ur 4 gallon containers?
as long as a little water come out the bottom when u water that should be good.
u could always look into the holes and see if any of the bottom soil looks dry if so water till its not.cuase if dry not an even spread of water.and u already know about the finger test for dryness right?i know u do .if u use that test then u know when to water and that should do it :0)

I have a bunch of little holes in the bottom and on all 4 sides right near the bottom.

But water doesn't come out. I think I need to give them more. Next time I will try like a quart or maybe even a quart and a half of water per 4 gallon pot.

make sure u have good drainage with the soil too
if u want carfully take something and poke it in the holes to make sure
theres no thick debre near the hole if there is stuff near the holes his could free it up
and u could always carefully poke some holes down in the soil so the roots get better air and the water would go down better just be aware of pokeing the roots but as long as there is no tenchin when u poke u should be fine.

I don't use MG. My soil is a mix of organic top soil, perlite, and vermaculite.

I use FoxFarm Grow Big at one tsp per gallon of water, plus a small drop of superthrive. :leaf:

Plus I started adding 4 tbls of FoxFarm Big Bloom since two of my three plants are ladies for sure! The pistils are sticking out even farther today!

When I foliar feed next tuesday I am gonna use 1/2 tsp of grow big and 1 tsp of big bloom along with a small drop of superthrive per gallon. I am sending away for this setup with the airflo reflector for +70 and the summaster 600 watt hps bulb for plus 38.

Anyone have any comments about going with a 120 volt cable or a 240? What's the difference?

What's your budget? If your gonna spend a couple hundred, get a 400 watt hps with an MH conversion bulb. You can use the MH for vegging and the HPS for flowering. Your plants will be big and your buds will be fat! That's what I am gonna do.

I bet you could get the whole setup with a nice reflector and nice bulbs for around $300 for the 400 watt. Without the MH bulb but with a NICE aircooled reflector and Sunmaster bulb, including shipping, its 358 and change for the setup I am getting.

I don't know what needs to be wired up.

But I can get it done if I need some sort of adapter. I know people.

120 is standard household current 240 is like where an electric stove or dryer . so if your just using a regular pulg get 120!

thanks bro i will just go with the 120! info much appreciated!

so a little update..added twp 26watt 6500k cfl's, bringing my total wattage to 217 of 5200k and above cfls!

plant #1 has pistils sticking almost 3/4 of an inch! plant #2 is a little farther behind but her pistils are starting to stick out more and more!

plant #3 is just now starting to display preflowers. they are even more tear drop shaped than the other two plants. they slope and come to a point at the top. so far they look female but i cant be sure until i see some pistils!

i have decided to veg for the entire month of january, with my flowering start date to be february 10th or so, or day 75ish!

thoughts? happy new year!

Nice set up... I like it...

You probably want the 120 volt cord... when i think 240 v, I think heavy duty... one light and a couple of fans should be fine... just don't exceed the max rating for your circuit breaker...

thats sweet

They just plug in... no wiring involved... unless you get one of the DIY kits...

i herd u have to wire up a balis or something like that
Nope... no wiring at all... just plug it in to the socket...

Usually your dryer will have a 240v 50 amp breaker in your panel... lot's of people make use of this...

thanks bro i will just go with the 120! info much appreciated!
Good choice!

217 watts... of CFLs... yeah, it's time for the big boys light...:o lol....

Nice... you should give us some pictures...:weed:

Patience is a virtue... you should wait a day or two before looking again....

I'll sometimes do that, and there is always a big surprise...:hump:

i have decided to veg for the entire month of january, with my flowering start date to be february 10th or so, or day 75ish!

thoughts?
OK, so how many plants? how tall are they now????? you are going to have a jungle... are more lights in you immediate plans???? plans...?

long vegg crates a thick canopy... no light gets through... at all... are you going to do a scrog?

Did I miss you master plan somewhere?

happy new year!
Same to you and your Bro!!!!

Best wishes from the Great Land....

you have lots of patience danielson.
Yeah no shit eh?!?!

I just want to see him deal with 4 to 5 foot trees demanding more light...

Lots of smaller plants will get better light distribution than a few really big ones...

I have that problem right now... I am flowering some bigger, retiring moms... and there is not enough light penetrating through the canopy...

If they weren't all so bushy and blocking each other's light, I bet I could double the yield... I just can't get light to go everywhere... too thick.... too many buds will be fluffy... they could use the 600 I have on top and 3 more from the sides....:o

I am sticking to lollipops from now on....
