First time grower, first time cfl grow

Yo dude, am so happy for your plants. They are lookng great, a bit too bushy (probably from the heat) if anything but very healthy and green so great job. I haven't got round to getting some pics of my plants as been well too stoned but i will soon. At the moment i can give you some more advice as you are going to start flowering. The topping looks good and you are getting those branches (as seen in your pics) which are going to yield those fat buds. First of all you need to let all these branches recieve light so bend those fan leaves which shade them down or to the sides (don't snap them just allow the small side branches to get out of their shade, especially the lower node branches as without strong light now may never make it up to the canopy). These side branches from the nodes are the new growth that happens on all marijuana plants only here we are encouraging them to sprout and grow as rapidly as possible and thus keep the plant as short as possible. you may get beween four to eight strong branches which wll fill out into a canopy as in a rainforest where you get a layer of lush growth until the sunlight can penetrate no futher. With envirolights the distance of penetration is short, maybe 20 to 30 centimeters from either a 200w blue or 250w red and yes Hps is about three to four times better but it is three to four times more exspensive on the electricity and cooling as well as the size of the grow so who cares what you use as long as the plants are marijuana! Anyway back to the point!! as you turn your timer to flowering and the plants start to grow rapidly up and out you may find the leaves turning yellow here and there or turning a light bright green. This is common and caused by lack of nutrient and not enough strong light. The plants are changing their nutrient requirments and requiring a lot more. You may find you dont need to fertilise that much if you repot in larger pots with a good enriched John Innes flowering soil so mabe this could be the way to go and will give new space for roots to grow in which your plants will be better able to support themselves nutrientwise. As far as Lst at this point you need only bend down, tie back or top any branches that are a lot higher than the rest, i recomend just bending them at the top a couple of times rather than topping them, more natural and you can shape the plant for the best use of light. Evening all - and yes its been a while. Have major work on at the mo and working 7 a week. Hopefully I havent neglected my babies though and they seem to be growing strong. I'm gonna stick an update on this but do it in one big weeks hit of pics. But first:
Big Chillin, thanks for the comments fella. That's very kind and helps me carry on this journal as some nights I cant be assed. I'm sure you can make the bagweed spring into action. With the PC fans I just use a 12v transformer and make sure I wire red PC fan wire to positive and black to negative. The yellow lead on a PC fan is to control the speed of the fan on the pc. This article should give you exactly the right instuctions on how to do it. I have a circuit breaker governing all the power going to my setup as keep freaking out about potential fires when I'm at work. Just double check everything and give it a test run before leaving it for hours on end.

Day 26 - 30 / Day 1 - 5 flowering (25 - 29 in soil)
Ok one big hit with this update. Went it to flowering cycle at last at day 26 of veg (bit longer than I was going to veg for but had just topped both plants and wanted them to re-coup before switching). Hadn't bought any flowering nutes up front so a few days without nutes on these. Added nutes tonight so will see results tomoz on. Anyway not a lot to say other than the topping may actually have produced four tops in total per plant meaning I think that I may have accidentally fimmed them - we will see. Obviously flowering switch over takes a while but they are growing taller none the less and the lower branches are now meeting the higher ones. WIll wait to see if LST is needed or not. PICS (too tired to type at mo - will get back on the journal soon):

Hey Kingrow. Posted my daily update and hadnt seen your post. Big thank you to you fella for the advice on LST and flowering. My cab is closed for the night now as on strictly 12/12 schedule but will start the bending as you advised tomorrow. Will post pics asap this week. Nice one again.

All right! Sorry about the work situation dafoe. But on the brighter side, it'll be extra income for the plant fund! And that fan setup is going to be way easier than i thought. I've got a million little transformers around here. Also had a problem with fungus gnats but this isn't really the thread for that.
Does anyone have a link for a good lst guide? I just dug a hole to the side of my plant and bent my top over into it because my lower three inches where bare. And yet i can't help but think that's no good.

just poke a hole in the side of your pot and pull a string through it and tie down a branch. repeat for the others.

You can put another plant in that setup. Otherwise, you'd just be wasting the light.
I advise you to grow outdoors, though. It's warm enough now, and you get way bigger yields outdoors. I've heard of people averaging 10 to 16 ounces a plant! Indoors, you average 1 to 3 ounces. Also, most people don't really know how to spot a weed plant, unless they smoke weed or they're a cop. So your neighbors probably won't notice it. Just put them in with some other plants. Trust me, you'll get huge yields outdoors.
By the way, how much was that CFL? I need to find one.

Evening all! I'm back for one night only lol. Work is fricking mental and hardly getting time with my plants let alone you lot! But have a very quick update. Mr Josh C, cheers for your comments fella although its beginning to slide a bit as life is busy at the mo! Will try my hardest to complete it all the way through though. Tatan, no sign yet - not sure what is going on?!? Big Chillin - you'll be fine with the fans, they really are a doddle to put together. Keep me posted on the grow. Will work for weed, dude I live in the UK where even the lawn has problems with outside temps, there is no way I'm putting my babies out there to die and my grow cab is stuggling to fit 2 plants let alone 3 mate. Gonna keep going as I am for now but cheers for the suggestions. The bulbs were about £30 each - should be able to get them from most good hydro shops or internet.

No sign of sex as far as I can see yet though but if you guys spot it please let me know. Should be showing by now as it's day 9 flowering I think! Adding flowering nutes (Plagron Bloom) at 25% at mo but can't get my humidty down and Jesus H Christ are they stinking. There must be a leak somewhere in my box as my front room is potent as shit so its rising from the basement. Carbon filter doesnt smell when its exhausting so not sure what the frick is going on. Am having to use a de-ioniser in my front room in case anyone comes round and cottons on. Other than that it seems to be all ok? Humidty is stuck at 70% though and I know this is way too high. Have tried pushing more air through more reguarly but it just seems to drop the temp down into low 20c and have tried exhausting more reguarly but still no luck. Have chucked two of those moisture packets you get in packaging to see if they will absord some but not holding out much. ANy advice on how to get it down please let me know as I need to drop it shed loads when they start to bud! Check pics:

MAN!!!!!!!!! this fourm keep it up dude this was huge help for me i have the exact same setup literly like the foil wrap light space and i cant get my plants to produce flowers like yours were im at like day 14 and my plant is rigth were yours is but iv notcied my days the changes have been like one day its not doin shit the next its where yours is that day its crazy i do have 5 plants on that one same light i didnt have a clue what to do when i started and still dont ... but i spent alot of time on here reading it been help this fourm was huge help i have a question tho im at day 14 and i started to lst already because my stem has come out about an inch its been 5 hours how and it tottaly pulled over and tryin to come up.. should i still do this or let them grow some more? and my water what should i be useing i have a feed for it

After you switch your plants to 12/12 .. you should see sex within a week... 14 days is way too long. Look at the internodes for the hairs or the balls.
The only other thing I can think of is that the 12/12 period hasnt been done poperly

na na man my plant is on day 15 today from spout i still have like 2 or three more weeks before i got to 12/12 yesterday i switched my plant to 18/6 it didnt seem to like 20/4 so i went 2 hours less light to see if it liked it.. the top two pics are yesterday rigth after i stoped lst and droped my ligth so they would stop stretching..
