Day 44 (43 in soil) Day 19 flowering

Very quick pic update only - can confirm that both plants are female as suspected so well worth the £2 more for feminised seeds. Would have been gutted to get this far then find out I had males.

Day 46 (45 in soil) Day 21 flowering

OK - 3 weeks in flowering and I have what looks like flowers/buds appearing. Am very pleased as you can imagine as this is my first grow and so far it all seems to be going well and am now starting to see the end phase of the whole thing (early days yet though I guess). No idea how much these babies are going to yield and whether this 300w CFL will produce enough to make me happy but watch this space. Humidity is coming down as I've managed to start dry out the room the cab is in thanks to Mr Bitti's advice. Am waiting for an ebay auction to finish for a dehumidifer for the room so that the active intake fan in the cab have dryer air to suck through but in the mean time I have put the fans on almost constantly to keep the air moving and reduce chances of mold. Waiting on desk fans to come into tesco's next week and then I think I'll leave that on constantly. Anyway pics:

My basic LST seems to be working with this canopy from both plants:

Day 47 (46 in soil) Day 22 flowering

Ok this may be the last update for a while as it takes ages to upload photos, resize them, etc and not many people seem to be replying on here any more so its easier all round if I just do a weekly update + you will get to see more change in the plants in a week rather than every day. But for tonight. Have changed my PC fan inside the cab for a 9" desk fan, only problem is my plants are too dam big now and the fan cant turn - will have to sort this out! PICS:

Cheers Mr Josh but gonna stick to the weekly updates I think. Really need some advice though! Have work men coming tomorrow who will be working in the room where my cab is. I need to know if I can put my plants in my garden shed for just 6-7 hours without the CFL light on them so that I can ensure I don't get busted. I can conceal the cab but the smell these babies are kicking off every time the fans start is unmissable. Will it affect the plants very much if they are in lower temps and less light (almost no light - except sun light through the one plastic panel in my shed roof)? If it will be harmful then I'll risk it but if not then I'll go for the safer bet and hide them away for a few hours. PLEASE FELLOW GROWERS - ADVICE NEEDED!!!!!!

i would say it depends on who is coming to work there. In my case i live in a 1 bedroom and maintenance comes over sometimes but they know i smoke and my closet has a lock on it. still they are maintenance they are not gonna be asking me questions or watching me because they dont care and respect my privacy. that being said, if you have to move them during lights on and there is going to be a small amount of light available they will be fine. its like a very long very dark storm came by for half a day. Once wont cause them any stress, and if the ammount of light is significant i mean like you can see the plants with the light it will be fine. its better for them to have something than just total darkess if they are supposed to be in lights on. ok thats a lot of typing, did that make sense? if its lights off, just keep them off and kick fans off

Hey Mr Bitti, thanks again for coming to the rescue!!! In the end I just hit the lights off for about 4 hours and killed the fans just to be safe. Doesn't seem to have done them any harm, if anything they are looking a bit perkier than before. Nice one again for the advice, best to air on the side of caution when people are in my house I reckon as I definitely dont want to be doing a stretch inside for growing a few plants that shouldnt be illegal anyway! Piece said. First of weekly updates on its way.

Day 50 (49 in soil) Day 25 flowering

Ok, first of my weekly updates. Not much to tell except had to put my babies into darkness as had workmen round who were far too close to the cab for my liking. Doesnt seem to have affected them though so fingers crossed. Humidity is still high but have a dehumidifier coming tomorrow. Pics should show some change in the buds so have a ganders. I'm just photographing the same two buds at the moment and will leave the main cola pics until they are nice and developed!!!:

Big difference since i last checked in. Nice bud production....... wait till those tricks start appearing!
You might start to notice that light does not penetrate to the bottom of the plant. I have had a few of my lowest leaves die, but never any fingered leaves. Also quite a few buds are still small but because of the light.
Do you think i should trim leaves off i should i just carry on as i am doing?
Let me know if you have had this problem yet.

How much room you got left?

Might be useless info, but if you want your profile picture to be on your posts, you need to select it as an avatar in my rolliup.

Evening all. First off thanks to Mr Bitti as always - your advice on the LST a while back has paid off! Oblivion, nice to have you back fella and I've noticed the same thing with the lower leafs - thought it was nute brun to begin with but then realised that none of the top leafs were dying so put it down to CFL's not being able to penetrate the lower branches. Tatan cheers! The next few weeks will hopefully be worth the wait now.

:joint:Cheers Tatan. I should really count the colas but didnt want to jinx my grow yet lol.

I have 3 questions I'm hoping you fellow growers may be able to help me with:

1) Has anyone heard of trimming a few of the upper fan leafs to ensure the light penetrates lower down the stems and increases bud below? I'm not sure if I should risk this or if greed will kill my babies? lol

2) Can anyone give me a good link to a top guide to harvesting including sections on flushing, molases, cutting, etc? There are so many threads going on this site but sometimes its difficult to get the info all in one nice read? Anyone come across a good guide that they have used before?

3) Anyone know how to regen the plants after harvest and if this is a good method? Take it you just switch back to veg cycle and lights again but not sure what effect harvesting will have on the plant itself and maybe I have the method all wrong????

Nice one peeps!

Trimming too much is bad, cause the plant needs the fan leaves for food... which it uses to build buds. What I try to do is to move leaves around.

Regenerating plants works from what ive read. Ive seen it in action sort of by taking a clone from a plant in flower... initial growth is a little messed up, but then its back to normal.
For a full plant you have to cut the top and let the bottom regen, and you have to leave some fan laeves and bud mateial...

Hey people - long time but very quick update. First things first cheers to Bublon and Tatan. Have just moved and tucked fan leafs now to allow the light down to the lower sections of the plants.

Day 59 (58 in soil) Day 34 flowering

Alright everyone. Quick update and what I think are the best pics to date of my plants and help show the potential yield of these Power Africas if I manage to get to the end of my first grow. I decided to mix things up a little yesterday and grabbed some molasses I had in the kitchen cabinet and mixed it in with my nutes and water that I add every two days. Stuck about a level tea spoon for a litre and a half of water and the usual 5ml nutes per litre of my Plagron Bloom nutes. The only molasses I had was in pure sugar cane form but this dissolved in water so chucked it in. Next day (today) when I opened the cab I was well impressed and pleased. It may be coincidence but all the buds have thickened out and the buds lower down the stems as well have put on some gain. Still moving fan leafs about to allow the lower buds and stems room to reach for the lights and seems to be working. Anyway less writing more pics:
