First time grower, first time cfl grow

Wow, Im surpised how mych bud development you have already at day 32. Anothe thing I like is that pretty canopy, you got so many colas coming up its nice... I think you are going to get a pretty big yield...
About the pics.. yeah it happens sometimes.. just have to be patient til you can upload again.

JESUS! This is driving me nuts! The insert picture button isnt working on this site at the moment for me?!? Has anyone else been having this problem or does anyone else know of another way to insert pics? Cheers peeps!

I have 3 questions I'm hoping you fellow growers may be able to help me with:

1) Has anyone heard of trimming a few of the upper fan leafs to ensure the light penetrates lower down the stems and increases bud below? I'm not sure if I should risk this or if greed will kill my babies? lol

2) Can anyone give me a good link to a top guide to harvesting including sections on flushing, molases, cutting, etc? There are so many threads going on this site but sometimes its difficult to get the info all in one nice read? Anyone come across a good guide that they have used before?

3) Anyone know how to regen the plants after harvest and if this is a good method? Take it you just switch back to veg cycle and lights again but not sure what effect harvesting will have on the plant itself and maybe I have the method all wrong????

Here is a link to the Overgrow FAQ (RIP) that someone had the foresight to save. I've ripped that portion of the website myself and would recommend everyone have a copy of the FAQ in their arsenal. Lots of good stuff in there, cheers.

Hey people, this could be the end of my grow journal I'm afraid as I just cant get the insert picture button to work anymore?!?!?!?!?!? When I clicked on it before it used to bring up a seperate window where I pasted the link to my pics. Now nothing at all is happening so I'm not able to update. I cant find a contact email for the people who run the site to ask what to do. I'll try again in a few days but if there is no luck I might as well sign this off as with no pics it doesnt really work lol. Will keep an eye on everyone elses journals though. Much love.dafoe23

No they have a bit to go unfortuantely as I'm gagging for a smoke and they smell great!!!! Keeping an eye on the trichs at mo with magnifying glass and will post newer pics tomoz night. A gourmet mix of Jack Herer, White Widow, Northern Lights, Big Bud and Purple Power, 9 dead plants in all, lol.

Haha! Those plants look good enough to smoke dafoe! Sorry i haven't posted in awhile, life likes to drag you wherever it may. But I'm back and i have a new grow myself! Won't look anything as beautiful as yours but they'll come a close second!

If you can pluck up enough courage to take scissors to your plants and trim them, this would really help the lower buds.
I never did it myself so can't say too much but I chopped the other day and some of my lower buds were shit. With your 2 you might be fine but I had probs with this.

Any thoughts yet on your next strain?

Just a quick thank you to pressduck and Bigchillin. You should set up a journal pressduck so we can all keep a watchful eye over your progress. Where you been Bigchilling lol? Have subscribed to your new grow and am keeping my fingers crossed for ya. Will post an update on here tomorrow night with pics - and these babies are looking sweet if I do say so myself. Keeping myself busy with reading up on flushing and harvesting at the mo although still think I have a few weeks to go. Laters peeps!

Hey Oblivion. I had wondered if I should cut them the other day and posted asking about it. Most people said not to though so I have just rearranged a lot of the leafs to get the light to as many colas and lower buds as I can. I read an article that stated light, although not in massive quantities, will penetrate the top leafs as they are more transparent than the human eye perceives them to be but to be honest the buds lower down really arent as impressive as I would like. I'm gonna keep the scissors hidden though for the time being as its my first grow and dont want to risk f'ing it up at the last stage. Not sure what strain to go for next - still waiting for someone to come up with an odourless strain lol as my house is stinking - def have to change the carbon in my filter as I'm sure its well past its life line now! Any suggestions on new strains? I still have 3 Power Africa seed left and from what I've been reading the high is fab. If they grow like these two have then I'm def going to put these in next or at least one of them and maybe split it with another strain. Answers on a postcard peeps.

I didn't want to trim either, no way was shit dying on me!
Tucking your leaves in will do fine.
I am going to stick with the autos for a while to get those a good as possibe then go for a proper grow.
I really want to do some proper bluberry, I can get blueryder's but who knows what they compare like.
If you get chance to do some auto flower's I really recomend them for time and easiness, but I can see why growing an auto dwarf is off putting to anyone doing successfull big grow.

If power Africa rocks, plant some more and do somthing else next time.
Will you just stick with 2 again or put more in?

Def sticking to two with the space I have - anything more and I think the plants would suffer. I'm tempted just to do one next time and do a full on LST grow but always feel the need to hedge my bets and plant 2 in case one dies. Anyway, see if I get to the end of this grow first I guess and take it from there. Will Post pics tonight.

Day 64 (63 in soil) Day 39 flowering

Ok peeps! Have some new pics to show you all. I have been adding molasses to my water and nute mix at about a level teaspoon per 1.5litres of water. Seems to have made the buds a lot thicker and the smell is divine, although saying that I wish it wasnt spreading throughout my entire house - def need to change the carbon in my filter. I have kept photographing the same buds on Plant A & B to show the progress. These aren't the main colas but show how most of the other buds are shaping up - the main colas are a considerable size bigger but doing it this way should allow me to see what the potential overall yields will be. Anyway PICS:

Ok, very quick update. Not sure if I should leave it another week or even two before flushing - difficult to predict when these little puppies will be ready to harvest. Trichs are still white so will keep an eye on them. I've counted 20+ stems across both plants although some are lower down than others so have no idea what their yield will be like - still rearranging leafs to try and get light to them though. PICS:
