Never came across that way once brotha. They are off the rebound and going for the jam! :D Give them one more soaking and than it's feeding time! I'm getting impatient haha want these things to be on roids! Looking forward to finishing off the Topping and LST. The SCRoG is something that i'm eager to start and master, plus once the screen fills up you know what time it is!
Oh yes, very shortly it's going to be the fun time.. just make sure you take your time and soon you will be a master of your own cannabis dynasty. :D

That's what i'm going to practice is patience. Once you can master that you solve a lot more problems than just cannabis ones. Definitely looking forward to getting a couple of grows down, and picking up so more advanced growing techniques.

Easy there yoda! Patience is key my young botanist! haha they look good though man! i was thinking about starting my own thread but mine are already a couple weeks in flower so i'm probably just going to wait until my next grow. The roomie was talking to me about some clones he could get that will be a month in a half into veg when mine are done flowering so hopefully if he isnt full of shit and i can get those and then i would only have to flower them and i could get another grow in midway through summer that would be dope! Love and miss you guys tell the women to make some edibles! haha jk!! but seriously though..:eyesmoke:

Hello all,

I know it's been a good while since i've posted anything but here is an update. Finally got my ladies into 7 gallon pots, and out of my closet/veg room. They are currently 6 1/2 weeks into veg. I'm probably going to top them here in a couple of days, and that will be the last one they receive. I've noticed that a few of our plants look like they are showing some sort of deficiency which I'm almost certain it's due to our pH. In this case the deficiencies are due to nutrient lock out but I was wondering if I can get any input as to what those lock outs look like based off of your guys observation of the dead leaves I pictured.
In the case of the pH here's the deal... When we water we use a pH to balance the alkaline of our soil. Usually the soil will be at a pH of 8 and we will water with a pH of 5 changing our soil to a pH of about 6.5. But a few days after water, usually about two, our soil bounces right back up to a pH of 8. In that two days time you can see a noticeable difference in the plants health, they look perky and healthy but as soon as that pH bounces back up the plants start to show signs of deficiencies. Once this happens we are left to wait for the plants to dry out to do another water so that we don't over water but at the same time have to watch our plants get sickly. Any thoughts or suggestions or comments? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

Yah, in my eyes, those deficient looking leaves are nothing more than the result of your high PH. I don't believe your doing anything wrong with nutrients or anything of that sort (You're too meticulous for that kind of problem lol). You may have too much limestone in your soil. Right after water, it flushes out a decent amount dropping your PH (like you've noticed), but over time, the unbroken, remaining limestone start to breakdown making your PH hit about 8 again. Here are some ph buffers when your ph is too high: Use these SOIL PH Adjustments to lower your ph: sawdust, composted leaves, wood chips, cottonseed meal, leaf mold and peat moss. Sawdust, composted leaves, woodchips and, lemon juice. Hope it helps (: Peace :bigjoint:

Harley, the reason your ph bounces back up, is because your soil becomes more dry.
When your first water, the ph'd water balances your soil, and it maintains at a 6.5.
But as the soil becomes dry it causes your soil to bounce back up, and your plants start looking sickly.
Let the soil dry out, but not bone dry, always keep it a little moist. Then when the soils feels like it could use a watering, hit her with one.

Thanks guys, just watered last night with a lower pH balanced water, and the ladies are looking great i'll have some more pics up so you guys can have a up to date side by side. I'm aware that the soil is going to be more alkaline as the plants take up the acidic water, however I was wondering what would be the solution to balancing the overall pH of my soil so that it sits at a 6.3-6.5 rather they normal 7.7-8.0 It would be a lot easier and more efficient if are soil was at a lower six pH so we could have that perfectly acidic soil environment giving us maximum nutrient uptake.

Hello All,

Here's another update day 56 of veg. These pics are 5 days into my 2nd top and they are looking great. The lst is coming along amazing as well. I posted a couple of pics of a plant with fairly skinny clawed looking leaves. Any advice to what kind of deficiency or what could be causing that would be great. Sorry for the pictures being under the light. I was able to construct 2 3'x3' screens that I will be using for a SCRoG. The 11 plants are beginning faintly show signs of their sex. If i'm not mistaken I will have 8 females and only 3 males. I'm hoping the screens are going to be big enough to home 4 of these bad ladies each, only time will tell.

Curled leaves, usually a heat problem. Dont worry too much. hahah.
Yeah that's what it turned out to be we added some ducting and repositioned are fan, and the room is staying at a cool 76-78 degrees during the lights on. These ladies are vegging out nicely almost time to throw the SCRoG screen on :blsmoke:.

Hello all,

Sorry my updates have ben so spread apart. The young lady and I did a flush due to a nitrogen toxicity which was slowing the growth of my babies and it worked fantastically. In the pics I uploaded you can see a good amount of growth compared to my last update. The canopies of these ladies are really starting to stretch out and lengthen. Last night we spent a couple of hours re-lsting each of them, and I can't wait to see the results over the next couple of days. They are getting so huge it's unbelievable and really self gratifying. Another thing I wanted to touch on was the picture of the leaf I uploaded and the deficiency it has. Since we ran a good amount of water through them to flush out the excess N and all the salts that had built up I think we got rid of some needed elements. As soon as they dry up we are going to hit them with a 25-30% of the recommended dosage of our nutrients which we will be switching to an increased P value for flower. A couple factors I wanted to add were a UVB bulb, as well as introducing a foiler of Humboldt's Own Snow Storm for the potassium boost. I'm new to foiler and would greatly appreciate any tips or tricks that would be helpful as I don't want an issues with mold or ruining my crop. I've heard if you foiler to spray only the fan leaves and try to avoid directly spraying the buds? I don't know how much is backing that just something I read. My next update should be soon probably, just wanted to give the ladies some time to grow, so you all could have a comparison. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks all.

Hello all,

Thought i'd give you another update since i'm still in veg. Almost at week 11 of veg, I know that's quite a while, but I don't think the extra time is going to be bad due to the heat and toxicity issues. The ladies are looking damn fine; they are huge monsters. Have some pics around the bulbs, and you can see they are starting to show their sex. I only have one male left in the room who hasn't fully developed yet. I'll think they will all be showing their sex, and ready for flower within a week. I'm going to look up some methods of foiler feeding, so I am good and prepared for the Humboldt's own Snow Storm. Along with that I was hoping to scrap together some money to go and get a couple UVB bulbs. I'm hoping I can get those things in there to really up the quality of my end product. The look of the room is great as you can see I was really pleased with what the LST did for the canopy of my room.

Umm im not for sure yet. I actually don't know if i'm even going to foiler feed anymore, think I might just end up putting in their feeding schedule. I don't know to much about it, so i'm kind of skeptical.

Hello All,

Welp it's that time! Finally got to flip the ladies to 12/12. Going to be running the light on during night in hopes to help out with the old electricity bill. Didn't really get that many pics to day was busy, but I will get more for tomorrow. Along with the flip I took 30 clones. Those are currently under a HO-T5 in a humidity dome, and I hope are going to make it. Never really took clones, and was just looking for branches about 4 nodes big that were just going to turn into popcorn in the later stages of flowering. The clones are in rock wool cubes that were soaked in water with a pH of 5.5 over night. The dome looks great and is creating condensation on the sides. I've been letting them air out a couple times a day and keep them supplied with some Co2 by talking to them :P.

Enjoy :joint:
