first time grow... how they look?

Those are one gallon pots and transplanting during flower is never a good idea. Even root bound you will get a better return in bud by leaving in the pots they are in during flower. The only time you have to worry about them dieing is if you over water and they get rotten roots. Always transplant before flower and give them at least a week before flipping them to 12/12 so they can get over the stress. Since they are way into flower I would just deal with the cramped roots and make sure they dont get to dry or to wet.
Root bound only means they have no reserve of nutes or moisture and need more attention, and of course a reduced yield but you will get even worse by transplanting during flower.
Just another two and three quarters cents.:weed:

Saw this a little late, I did transplant it. I was gentle though and I'm just going to let the roots find their way into the bigger home. If I lose buds, I lose buds. Live and learn!

Just lined the closet with a mylar blanket until the box is finished. The soil plant is looking pretty happy besides a few dying leaves I trimmed off after the picture. The hydro plant on the right looks like it's suffering from Nitrogen Toxicity. I think I am probably overfeeding it, still getting used to adding nutrients. I may do a filtered water flush for a week or two to clear it out.

Anyone have any advice on the Nutradip Trimeter I'm using? It was recently calibrated (2 months). In air PPM reads 0, tap water it's around 150, and then after I add the nutrients and mix them, how long should I wait to get a PPM reading? If I add the probe in after a very good stir, the PPM's will go up from say 650 up to 800 after about 10 minutes. I realize the water won't have a perfect reading throughout the mixture, but is it good practice to leave it on for that long and let the PPM's up? Or do you think the meter is faulty? I would think after 30 seconds or so it would get a pretty good reading around 800 if the PPMs were at that level. Not just creep up by 10 every 30 seconds or so. As a side note, I think this is actually a meter you can leave on all the time. It's got screws to wall mount it, and the description says continuous monitoring system.

Also some clones I'm fostering til a buddy get's his box going. Right now these are in a speakerbox. I'm going to cover sides sides to lightproof the water res later today. W-13" D-9" H-17". Running a single 26w (100w) CFL 24/0, hydro with GH trio, passive intake and 120mm PC fan exhaust with a 3 speed controller for when the temps change. Cooling will be harder come summer. These clones look scraggly too, but it's just practice anyways. I'll be picking up some beans from a bank soon to replace these with when he's on his feet. Don't mind the mylar either lol. Some scraps I just pinned up at the end of a long day and a fat spliff. It will look a LOT better when we finish box construction this week.

This is great info, im about to start my first grow indoors and if these plants made it this far with such limited equipment it encourages and gives the confidence with my grow. As a newbie i find the nutrient thing the most difficult in having to learn, im going to use 3 part jungle juice and additives but its frustrating because im not sure how much jungle juice i should use ( labels are not always accurate) and if all these additives are worth the $$$$ or over hyped. I moved from one state to another an it also sucks not having trusted buddies close by to help more or smoke with so its such a blessing to have found a great site such as this.

I've got pictures off of my DSLR to process at some point. I'd say I'm nearing harvest on the soil plant, another week or two maybe. The buds are looking nice even though they are on the smaller side, and from a trial grow. The biggest nug is maybe 3-4 grams.

Happy to report the hydro plant is coming back. I think I was right with the nitrogen toxicity. I moved the hydro plant to the corner with more light (surrounded by mylar vs being on the open side of the closet). I think it helped the plant out with some more lumens to use up the extra nutrients. Leaves are uncurling and the shade of green is definitely getting lighter, but production is still way behind the soil plant though. Probably just too much shock during it's life to do anything quickly anymore.

On a side note, I am getting some feminized seeds from a friend who is starting his grow. So my next grow won't be such a gamble with some bag seeds and a ghetto setup.

Here's a picture I snapped of one of the nugs. It may be nothing to some of the experienced growers, but from my expectations of this grow, I'm more than pleased!
