Thank you brother. I don't know what your talking about though, your bud looks bombtasticbongsmilie
LOL...yeah, not complaining about my bud. It's my babies!! They have not had the best environment in my tent. It's very cold in my loft now and I haven't bothered to sort that out. Mostly sits around 16 deg C lights on and it's like 8 deg C lights out. Cold, cold, cold. But they are still alive and growing. Soon, Friday in fact, I will be able to give them a re-pot and a proper environment, so they should come good for me I hope.

what're you gonna do with all those babies? they all pk's? :bigjoint:

buds are lookin so frosty tho Mmmm :weed:
Well there are 12 pk and 4 bag seed. It's weird two of the bs babies have shown their hairs and two have not. The plan was to replace the pk with whatever mystery females there were. I can't believe after 8 weeks old there is still two bs not showing sex. Anyway to answer your qestion, I will be running 12 in the next flower cycle. I do am growing for my sister that just got her script now, so I might throw them all in there, or keep a couple pk,s for mothers. not sure yet.

OK, so I wanted to share some communications with House and Garden that i have recently had. As some of you maybe aware of, when using house and garden cocos nutes, there is a considerable drop in ph after adding the a/b. It drops from 6.5 ish to 3.8ish. I then ph it backup. I had asked house and garden if this drop is normal and if they had anything to correct it other than ph. Here is the e-mail

Hi Marc,

The PH issues you have are related to the use of R/O water. This is not a bad thing,R/O water is the best possible water source for hydroponics as it ensures the plants receive 100% of the balanced nutrients they require.

R/O water is more unstable with regards to PH,Also R/O machines takes the good elements out of the water too.
House & Garden have a product called PH Stabilizer, designed only for use in R/O systems, this product can stabilize the PH fluctuation and adds the goodness back into the water supply. If you are in Australia please send me an address and we will send you a bottle of PH stabilizer free of charge.

The other option is to use a concentrated silica product added before any nutrients do not adjust the PH,add all nutrients/additives and your PH should be in the correct range without the need for any adjustment.

Hope this helps

House and Garden,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have talked to other users online that are using House and Garden nutrients and it seems that some experience this drop and some do not. Could it be because I use r/o water that with 0 ppm? How long is it recommended that the water stand after mixing the a/b before adjusting ph? Should I try using tap water? When I adjust the ph with the ph-up, the ph stablizes and when tested the next day is the same. Sorry for so many questions, but I want to continue this line of nutrients with my coco coir and just want to have a clear understanding of this ph issue.

Sincerely,

Marc

Hi Marc,

H&G nutrients are buffered correctly and in most cases with most water supplies the PH will finish around 5.5 after adding nutrients.Adding of Ph up is fine as long as there is no precipitation. An alternative way is to add a liquid silica based product to raise the PH.

Hey bro,

I use Dutch Master nutes... one of their products I use is called Silica. That stuff is really good for the plants (in my opinion)... and it raises the pH like a mother.

I'm pretty sure DM makes their additives so that you can use them with any line... they aren't all picky like others.

Might want to check it out.

Thanks for the tip. I am gonna try pro-silica next run by botanicare and see is there is any difference. I did see the dutch masters silica, I was origninally going to use their line of silica.
I am not going to add any this round, but will start on my next one and my babies.

I have seen some Kick Ass results from using Silica Based Ph nuetralizing formulas in Hydro, Aero, and Coco....... but dolomite lime as an additive or something similar would be better with some soils.... silica products don't always mix well with all soils.....

thank you raider for sharing the info.

i have been using silica for a few weeks to adjust the pH. It is supposed to make your plant more resistant to environmental stress, also good for strong healthy stems.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Sorry I was wrong, the product I picked up is Pro-Silicate by grotek. I tried it out tonight when I mixed nutes. It does raise ph alright. I actually had to add a little bit of ph-down. next time I will use a slightly smaller dose. I also gave the ladies there second dose of shooting powder. I only have three sachets, so there is one left. I figured I would give them once every other feeding. If I see some amazing results I will pick up a couple more sachets.

As for the babies, they are crammed in the 4x4 room now. Two of the mystery plants still haven't shown sex yet. I was planning on flowering in the cloner, but I might just drop the two that aren't showing sex. The issue is they are definatley outgrowing the pk and I could use the room in the veg room. I still am not sure what I am going to flower, because I am only flowering 12 and I have 12 pk and 4 mystery seeds.

Anyway, I snapped a couple no-flash pics.

The buds are slowly fattening up

Here are the little or not so little ones- the first pic is one that hasn't shown sex. I moved all the mystery plants to the left side and tried to spread out the pots.

Looks so cute and friendly!! Gorgeous!
Thanks.. he actually is a big baby if he knows you. He gets pretty nasty when someone comes over after dark until introductions are made.

Thanks Bro. He is like my kid. He actually turned one today.
Thanks on the bud compliment too.
Last night I went in and cleaned the milar and the glass on the lights, I can't believe what a difference it makes. I didn't realize how much dust had collected on the inside of the glass. I hadn't cleaned it since I started... bone head thing to overlook. Now it looks like the sun is out again. lol
