The other aphid looked clearer. One more day til chop. Are you filling the flowering room up right when its empty, or is more veg in order? Loooking forward to your next project as well as the results of this.
I read that aphids suck sap from the plant, which makes them eventually blend in witht their envirement. Yes the plan is to move veg straight to flower. I would normally wait a week or so to fight the aphids, but I don't know how I would keep the veg plants out of the light for another week. So I will do another major treatment/dip/spray/drench and use the diatimatious earth on the top of the coco and hope for the best.
yea is that an aphid for sure? just wanna make sure everyone agrees, looks black

Raider, u gonna experiment with giving the plants or a plant 36 hours of darkness before harvest? never seen anyone do it on here for evidence, ppl say they bulk up thinking death is near..
I think it is an aphid too. If you look close you can almost see the horns on the butt. I haven't thought about the 36 hour lights off, but I could just leave them off until tomorrow morning. I may give it a shot, unless there is any down side to it.
36 hours is about the max a plant can stay alive without light. Buds grow at night. never done it side by side, but have gotten some good results. I also don't give them any water or anything for the last few days because I think it helps them dry out a bit before chop.
They don't get water the last three days.
have you guys ever used pest strips
I like the sticky traps, but no I haven't used the no-pest strips.
Pest Strips attract MORE pests into the garden

That isn't an aphid.
Didn't know that. What is it?Well now I am really confused then.
Looks a little big for an aphid. The other was a white aphid?
hmmm?

no your right that does look like an aphid. My bad. I didn't look at it long enough. Any way you could get any clearer shots? I have Identified about 30-40 species of aphids thus far, but the pic isn't clear enough for me to do that. I had to blow up the picture on my computer to look at it closely, to confirm that it is an aphid, but can't identify it.

The one you pictured before was a soy bean leaf aphid [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular](Acyrthosiphon pisum). This one looks different, more closely to the pure leaf aphid, which is highly adaptable. Lady Bugs and dish soap spray (non antibacterial ;) )

Here are a couple more pics of the aphid and I tried to keep them larger so you can zoom in better. It does look flatter than they actually are... I don't know if it is the angle or it is squatting from the flash. The are pear shaped. Sorry, I can't get my lense to focus on this little spot, anf don't have a macro lense.
Also any opinions on the 36 hours of darkness?

In the flower room they are in trays. I hooked up drain hose to the tubs and I drain it outside. The veg room I lined with pond liner and put a drain in the center connected to a drain hose.

Here are a couple pics of when I installed the drains to the trays.

Thats excellent. I would love to find a tray like that but i dont think i could find one anywhere around here. I am only going to be growing 4 at a time and just cant seem to think of a good cheap drainage system. Thanks for the quick response and the pics also.

Is this what your looking at? Hard to tell without macro shots (wish I could cruz over and take some shots for yah :p )......

Also.... you talking 36 hrs darkness before chop? I wouldn't. I would do 14 hrs darkness the last couple days if anything, but don't change light schedule myself. I have tried this and that in the past, and noticed no difference, accept the plants that receive the regular amounts of light swell up slightly more.

going into flower... a little different. I like to phase them into 12/12 if I can, starting at 14/10 or 16/8 and decreasing an hour a day. If I can't I just throw them strait into 12/12.

You could just pic a plastic swimming pool and do the same thing or small plastic tubs from walmart for each plant. The plastic swimming pools work great though.

A little late with the 36 hours of darkness I know.... but from what I read... it's about the ammount of trichs. Apparently they have done studies that show the highest concentrations of THC in the plant are around midnight. So some people think that if you give them a hell of a night, then cut them... they will have a higher concentration of THC.

But in my head... if they have the highest at midnight...you should cut them 6 hours into darkness... not give them more?

Also some beleive various forms of shocking the plant at the end of it's life will make defense mech's kick in and the plant producing more trichomes.

I feel like I treat my girls hard enough... no stress' for me. I cut with lights on becuase it's easier and I always have more plants growing... I have never harvested everything at one time.

HOWEVER... I do give them 36 hours of dark between veg and flower. TLD is nice and likes to transition. I just send them a serious message... "Get ready for long nights"... no idea if it works but I figure it get's the lead out in the transition.

Is not watering them the last couple days a soil thing? I shouldn't be drying out my girls before the chop too should I?

My understanding it is a soil thing Jig, but I think it is personal preference. The torture method looks fairly interesting during the last week of flower. Hope your busy trimming away.

I just wanted to post a quick update. Unfortunately it isn't a good one. My plants must have hermied. I have seed pods in most of the buds. There isn't seeds, but the pods and the white shit in them. I have no idea how or when this happend. Anyway, I will still smoke it, but am so bumbed about it. My wife and I trimmed for about 12 hours today and we are about 60% done.

The pics 1&2 are of the first plant I chopped and pic 5 with is the scissors pointing at a seed pod I cut open.
