First Indoor Hydro DWC. Six foot sativa! What do you think?

Here is my first indoor hydroponic grow. The reservoir is a ten gallon Rubbermaid container with a 200 gallon air pump. Although I don't have a ppm meter, I calibrated the nute solution by putting the N-P-K percentages into a ppm calculator; right now it's about 1200 ppm. Also, the PH is 5.9.

The medium is Schultz Aquatic Soil (Basically little ceramic rocks).

I started off with only two 32 watt florescent tubes, and three CFL's. After four weeks of veg I bought a 150 watt HPS. (I don't really want anymore light since I'm only growing one or two plants.)

At the forth week I made two clones from the mother and put them into a separate box. They are doing extremely well, and as soon as the mother finishes flowering I'll make clones from the clones and have a perpetual harvest every 2-3 months!

The only problem is my plant is too tall! I had to tie down the top because it was growing almost two inches a day and burning.

She's been on 12/12 for three weeks and the buds are beginning to get big!

It's def a sativa, but I don't know the strain. Outdoor Mix from Marijuanaseeds.nl

This is my first grow and I'd like some feedback. What do you great growers think?

Try to grow some short bushy plants. Indicas for sure. Ur puny 150 watt lamp can't penetrate deep...i'd try to keep the plants around 1' and have a few more of them. THat way u'll get the most out of your light...but you may wanna consider at least a 400 watt....150 is kinda a joke...

first - the outdoor mix is an outdoor mix, because they will get friggin huge B - the plant is growing so tall because it doesnt have enough light and its reaching as hard as it can to get it. (it thinks there's something in the way choking it out). you could keep your hps and add more CFLs or something, or just add more of those 150s, but i would aim for at least a 400 with some CFL sidelighting for something small. 4 - if you have a height restriction my favorite thing to do is put a screen a couple feet below the light, then top the plants and weave all of the branches into the screen so only the buds come through the screen and they are all evenly light. if your going to go about it - you might as well go about it the right way... first thing i would do is get the screen for the next to outdoor clones you have ready to go... i wouldnt clone them anymore though i would go for a good yeilding indoor strain. the use of the screen (or "SCROG" method) will at least double your yeild, but sometimes enables you to get 4x more yeild than with same lighting and no screen... as far as i know, this method was invented - and perfected - on overgrow.com i've been using it ever since.

Thanks for your imput. I'm definetly going to buy an indoor strain and a another 150 watt HPS. I've seen the SCROG method before, but I was hesitant to try anything new until I had a grow or two under my belt. I think I'll try that with the clones and then buy a nice indoor strain (and flower a bit earlier). Thanks again.

how long were your clones when you took them from the mother? Also what did you put the clones in to root them? Thanks

The mother was about 3 to 4 weeks old when I took the clones. I put them into the same medium, Schultz Aquatic Plant Soil, and used Schultz Take Root rooting powder. I don't have another HPS to really make the clones grow so they have two florescent grow tubes for now. As soon as I harvest the mother I'll move them under the HPS (hopefully I'll have a more powerful one by then).

The clones are doing really well, since I have time until the mother is harvested, I have super cropped both of them. Here is a pic of their roots 3-4 weeks after I took them from the mother plant.

Thanks. The Rubermaid container is only ten gallons and actually quite small. You could have one container in a 1ft x 2ft space. I have a whole room, 4ft x 10ft, to use, but I wouldn't grow more than 2-3 plants because the neighbors would definitely be able to smell.

U should invest in a inline fan and carbon filter and vent your attic
