First Grow

This is my first grow and i'm in week 4 almost five of veg cycle. I started strictly from seeds from some reg. bud. I'm on a strict budget and limited resources. I have used miracle grow as potting soil. My light set up is 8 cfl's and 3 fluorescents. My general question is when should I put them on a 12/12 cycle. I have then on 24 hours right now and water them every other day, and when needed. Don't laugh at me, but i rapped my walls with the back side of wrapping paper, should that be sufficient as well?

I don't have a camera atm but when i do I will take pictures of my set up. I have about 40 plants already up and about 50 I started with seed today. Just looking for suggestions on what I could add and when to start to bud them. I would like to have a little to smoke asap if possible so i could possibly separate 4 and put them to bud before the others (even tho it won't be mature enough to yield a lot I would still like to smoke some.)

I put mine on 12/12 usually when their 25-30cm tall.
If the wrappingpaper is white it should be no problem

But why do you light them 24h? Normally its 18/6. i heard from a guy whos doing the first weeks of veg with 24h and then switches to 18 and then 12.

I vegged 24 under fluros sounds like ur gonna need more lights for 40 plants....

Putting them into 12/12 is up to you (I wouldn't do it till there a month old), but the longer the veg the bigger and more buds you will get (strain does matter tho). It matters on how much space you have. Anytime after a month of veg (or around 1 foot tall,don't include the pot) and they should be ready to go.

Thanks guys! They seem to like the light that I have given them, i'm constanly adding more and more light. The reason I keep them on 24hrs is because, I have seen significant growth between the extra 4 light hours that I apply. I have about 3 strains mixed from pot I smoked. Not really good bud but its a start lol ofcourse the back of the walpapper is white lmao. I figured it would work just didn't know if it was a good idea. Hell kinda like getting a christmas present when my plants start to bud .
Also In about half a month I do plan on setting up another closet so I can have more room and start a bud room and a veg room.
