Good idea to put my name in the title LGC. Will do that for any future grows. I think the next grow will be another seed run, this time for Hollands Hope (pest and mildew resistant) and some Autos for some outdoor growing options. I vacation at a location a few times a year that has perfect conditions for "set it and forget it" growing.

Thanks Jake, I ended up with way more seeds than I thought. I know a few people who could benefit from some of them though so it is nice to know I can be generous giving them away.
In the middle of a grow with Holland's Hope. It has been a very forgiving strain. It has very consistent growth it seems, and I can't wait til she's ready! Let me know if you have any questions about growing that strain. But if any plant is a set it and forget it strain, it's Holland's hope, lol

Right on, that is what I am looking for in an outdoor strain. From what I read Holland's Hope has been around since the 80's and is a very stable strain bred for roughly my latitude/climate. Where did you get your seeds from? I got my seeds from Dutch Passion. I am sure I will be asking you more questions at some point, thank you.

Even though I generally do not like feminized beans, I do think they will be useful for an outdoor grow.
I will be making feminized HH with colloidal silver for the NW outdoors. Also plan on making some feminized crosses of Dinafem Amnesia Auto, Critical Plus 2 Auto, Haze 2 Auto, and some of the freebie autos I got with the order. The autos will be for a vacation location where stealth and flowering anytime of year are more important.

My hh ladies were started as clones for me. However the seeds were purchased from nirvana. I'm also growing ice, special kush (royal queen's strain), pineapple chunk, & g13. All except the special kush were from clones from a buddy of mine. They are second gen clones, each mother was grown from seed purchased from nirvana. The special kush was a single bagseed.

Check out my grow journal when you have a moment. Is not near as interesting or detailed as yours though lol.

Nice grow you have going cannacove, I like the lineup of strains.

I decided to make the trim into RSO. Figured experimenting on trim was better than buds. I used 7.2 Oz of higher quality trim.

After some research I decided on using 99% ISO Alcohol because it will extract less of the chlorophyll than say 190 proof everclear (5% water).
I soaked the trim in a pitcher overnight in 48 Oz of ISO. The next morning I poured it off and resoaked with fresh ISO for another 2 hours.

Read online that using cheese cloth is not a good idea because too much plant material passes through so I used an old shirt that had very thick cotton. Set it into a 2l bottle with the bottom cut out for a strainer. It came out a nice golden green color. A double boiler was used to heat the ISO, keeping the water just below a boil still boiled/bubbled the ISO pretty well and seemed safer than cranking the heat. I used fans, open windows, and had a fire extinguisher on hand.

Took about 3-4 hours to gas off the ISO and ended up with about 12 grams of RSO. I will use this method again,
I didn't take pics of every step but here are a few that give the general idea.

The containers have 6.5g, 4.5g, and about 1g respectively.

I'm definitely going the route you did. I'd love to have some rso on hand.

A couple close up shots of my favorite looking seeds from the crosses. It is amazing how the look of the seeds seems to advertise the genetics that lye within.

I think I will start a new journal soon. Just started soaking 6 beans of 15 year old Fighting Cockerel seeds, F2's from an outdoor grow (brothers grimm strain) and 4 MC's Breakfast that are also at least 15 years old (BubbleBerry X Williams Wonder) and one Hollands Hope and one Amnesia Auto and one seed from a trade with a local grower while on a recent vacation.

The Root Aphids make me nervous so I will be dedicating some time to cleaning things up and trying to have a lower labor grow this time. Also, still have some mites. My Floramite showed up but the Tetrasan5 WDG never made it through the mail. Hopefully the Floramite is enough to kill the bastards. I have hit them with azamax and habanero recently... I will post a link if I start a new journal.

Peace,
Cascadian

Kill the bastards! Also where did you get all the ancient beans? Do you think they're still viable?

Thanks man, if I could I would torture the little bastards to death! I don't want them to become resistant so I won't use Floramite more than every 3-4 weeks tops.

I think I am going to keep hitting them with habanero, azamax, a neem drench, No Pest Strips and maybe pick up some more spinosad. Then I will do a full dunk of the foliage on every clone I want to keep (still working on some smoke reports so not sure which to keep yet). I am thinking of getting rid of about half my clones to make things easier to manage/prepare for the new laws. That or if I have the confidence in my pest eradication efforts just flower out the balance of my un-needed or less than exceptional clones before the summer (won't be growing in the summer I think just maintaining some clones). I have enough herb for the summer for sure so I think I am going to do another breeding experiment. Should still end up with some more good smoke out of it too I hope...

Almost forgot, I got the beans from my growing plans back in 1999 2000, shortly thereafter I had to quit growing and still have some beans. I have tried to germ about 90% of them with no luck. This is one of my last efforts to germ them, I have 6 MC's Breakfast and about 10 Fighting Cockerel left if these fail to germ.
Fingers Crossed!

I picked up two new clones today. A Sour Tsunami #3 and The Remedy, both less than 1% THC. The tsunami clone runs about 10-12% CBD and the remedy runs from 12-17% CBD. Both bought from reputable dispensaries. I couldn't resist picking them up, they are not the easiest to find.

Oh Damn! I was going to actually ask you if you ever planned to grow sour tsunami. It's an awesome CBD strain. I only know of one grower that sells clones in my area. I'd love to grow it, will hopefully get my hot little hands on a clone or two in around a month.

Yeah, it's a unique strain! I recently made some CBD butter putting 1/2 oz Sour Tsunami and 1/2 oz The Remedy into 3.5 sticks of butter. I tested the idea that you can't get high off CBD:lol: After two pieces of toast slathered in butter and an hour later I didn't feel high at all. Then I ate another piece of toast and an hour later I felt like I was medicated but not high, it did have a cannabis type feel to it but I was not high really. I would guess that I had ingested at least 300mg of pure CBD...

The clones are small, I got the last of both of them from their respective dispensaries.

I have too many plants in veg at the moment, here are some shots of what I have. No detailed shots... Some shots in the veg room before I moved them to the tent to clean the space for the clones and some shots of them in the tent. I have been hitting them with a foliar nutrient spray and they have greened up nicely since putting them in the tent. I plan on hitting them with habanero water and azamax just to make sure the mites are gone. Already did a pyrethrin dunk and a spraying with floramite...

Thanks man, I am hoping that I can get the sourtsu and remedy mothers big enough to take clones and flower even if small, with my outdoor breeding project. No big deal if they don't grow fast enough though. Definitely taking the breeding project seriously. I have someone who I basically bought these clones for so they will just get larger and/or more clones from the arrangement. Not planning on doing any big grow with these until next winter, just wanted to make sure I had the genetics for the future...

I hope I can get some mature seeds before the outdoor growing season starts. It has been over 48 hours since the beans went into the soil and they haven't popped yet. It's making me nervous because usually they pop within 48 hours after a soak. The ambient temps were lower than usual though but they are on a heating mat. I also bleached the shit out of the room they are in just before I put them in there, hope that doesn't kill/stunt them. If I don't see anything pop by tomorrow I will start to get more nervous about it. I have 2 more Hollands Hope and 2 more Amnesia Auto so I should be ok even if they fail...

Thanks, I keep holding out hope to. The beans I got in trade have not popped yet either. Will be planting another variety of the beans I got in trade today. I just planted a Harlequin X SNSW, Sugar Plum X (JTRxPurUrk), and Jilly Bean X (Plush x HB). I am just going to grow these out for curiosities sake. My main focus is the Autos and HH breeding for this grow.

I am thinking I will also flower a large Jack Herer, SNSW #4, Sugar Plum, and maybe the Jilly Bean. The rest of these large plants need to go, I will be taking a few clones before they get the boot...

Haha, yeah I have a lot of different crosses from the breeding project, probably 25-30 or so (I should probably make a list). I will never be able to grow them all out.

Really looking forward to working with new genetics. Have to keep more clones than I want (for the time being) because I haven't done enough smoking to judge what I really like yet. I love my problems, I need to smoke more LOL. Seriously though, it is hard to judge the strains unless you smoke them when you are stone cold sober or close to it.
