Today is day 9 of flower. The plants are all looking good with no signs of deficiencies yet. I gave them their first stronger dose of flowering nutes today, 3/4 strength Flora Nova. Also, drenched them with a 1/2 strength Azamax foliar. I think that will be the last use of Azamax on them. I am thinking about doing a neem soil drench on the next watering. I took these pics right after lights on with only the CFLs powered up, they had just been hit with the Azamax.

The males in a separate area under a CFL hood are not developing balls as fast as I would like. I delayed their flowering by 5 days because I read the timing is better for pollination that way. I think the low intensity light is causing the slow development, I switched to a 10/14 schedule on them.

I miss-identified a male, the GDP x harlequin turned out to be a male. That is ok though, I will cross it with some of the CBD strains and see what develops in the future. Didn't take any pics but the ladies are coming along nicely. A bit worried about humidity levels (around 60%) but may buy a dehumidifier pretty soon. Most of these strains are not susceptible to mold and bud rot but the Kush, Diesel, and maybe the Jack Herer could be.

Day 12 of flower, starting to show good pistil development. The fungus gnat population is rising again in the tent and in the veg room. I also found a few spider mites in the veg room where I wasn't as aggressive with the azamax. I am letting them dry out some and will drench with mosquito dunk water again soon. I just know the mites are going to come back in the tent in a few weeks!

A few pics of the ladies:

Yesterday I removed all the plants, cleaned up all dead leaves on the plants and on the ground. Then I bleached and mopped the floor in the tent. I had let the plants get pretty dry so I watered with a silica additive, mild 4-8-7 nute, and mosquito dunk water mixed. A couple days prior I watered in a neem solution and soaked the ladies with a concentrated habanero foliar. Haven't seen a mite in at least a week and the fungus gnats are all but non-exhistant.

Few pics from yesterday (day 15 flower)

I am rotating them every third day or so, so it is hard to ID them for pics. At some point I will pull them out individually and snap pics for better reference.
Humidity has been around 30-35% so I am not sure I need a dehumidifier, there has been a high pressure front moving in though not sure how quickly that will change. If it pushes 55% or so I will probably bite the bullet and get a DH.

Day 25:
I noticed what I think is a root aphid so I did an extra neem drench risked another light azamax treatment and used some 3-way fungicide/insecticide. Still have not seen mites and the gnats are under control. Still haven't done any pollination, having some trouble there. I may make an attempt at pollination tomorrow.

The buds are starting to develop resin glands and many of the leaves are getting frosty. I think pic one is Harlequin and pic two is one of the Harlequin crosses.

Something strange is deforming some of the bud leaves. Not sure if it is a heat issue so raised the lamp some.

Flower Day 33:

Today I did some pollination, way behind schedule so not sure if I will get viable seeds. Definitely not going to get the quantity of seeds I would like. The PlushberryXHeadband is the only male producing ample pollen. I cloned the Sweet and Sour Widow using the mature tops not realizing the plant would not produce ample pollen if I did. Early on I plucked some sacs from the JTRxPurUrk and cut the top off and discarded thinking I would get plenty of pollen, not so much, still waiting to get good pollen from it now. Newbie breeder mistakes I guess. Looks like some amount of all the crosses have taken though so I will be good with that and will continue to pollinate for the next week or so.

I took the opportunity to bleach and mop the tent... I then sprayed an azamax/spinosad solution into all the cracks and seams and soaked the floor. Clean as a whistle!

Here is the Jilly BeanJB 12 10.jpg

Purple Diesel (my favorite so far) along with the Jack Herer. The JTRxPurUrk cross is also looking nice even though it is in a small pot (glad I took a clone in week 2 of flower). All the SNS Widows are also doing great in the smart pots, I will try to post some pics when I do my last pollination of them.

I pollinated the SNS Widows again today, pollen was visible when I knocked it off the sacs but not sure how much actually got to the pistils off the brush. It looks like the previous pollination attempts have worked some, not sure how many seeds I will actually get though. I axed the male PlushberryxHeadband. The males are stinking up my house and need to go as soon as possible.

Here are some shots of the CBD Crew Sweet n' Sour Widows: Sorry for the paint on the pics, can't be too careful...

They seem to be doing well in the 2 gallon smart pots. Some mild leaf curl on a couple and some yellowing on some leaves but overall I am very happy with them!
The aroma in the tent is amazing and strong but the carbon filter is still doing a great job.

My bug problems are never ending. I have root aphids, I put down 2 strips of duct tape to check just how many, and I saw about 200-300 on the tape in different stages of maturity but no flyers thankfully. I guess these are not indigenous to my area but in the last few years they have been brought here from California on clones.
From what I have read they are worse than mites.

I just did a root dunk with pyrethrin/rosemary oil/soap. Just hoping to hold them off for 3-4 more weeks...

Yield will be effected both by the root aphids and likely by the treatment itself. 2 plants are showing the telltale false magnesium deficiency symptom from root damage.

Day 41:
Checked the tape on the floor with apple cider vinegar in the middle of it and only saw about 5 aphids. I also have not seen a single fungus gnat since I dunked them.

The buds are starting to fatten a bit and many of the seeds are starting to develop as well.

Day 45: No bugs of any kind, I think the pyrethrin really worked well. I am getting some yellowing of fan leaves on the sugar plum, JTRxPurUrk, and GDPxHarlequin but overall they are looking healthy and fattening up some. They are staying a little too wet due to feeding them too soon after the drench, I will let them dry out over Christmas.

Day 54: Starting to fatten up a bit and the seeds are developing well too. I have been away a lot over the past week and there is definitely more yellowing of the fan leaves than I would like. I gave them some 5-1-1 along with the 4-8-7 and watered with some molasses prior to that, hopefully they green up a bit. Getting pretty close to harvest anyway so I won't stress about it too much.

Been thinking about how I am going to dry the plants. It looks like the tent is going to be my only option because I need to keep the smell under control. I will either have to make a box that will keep light out and put it in the tent for drying or I will need to time the harvest so roughly half the plants are slightly early and half getting amber tricombs. Probably will just harvest all at once.

I didn't make note of which plant was which, but here are some pics taken yesterday

I really respect that you are growing for high CBD strains. I have recently gotten into only smoking high CBD strains due to the medicinal benefits - that and I'm really not fond of super high THC strains anymore. I recently picked up some canna-tsu (cannatonic x tsunami) and it's the best high CBD strain I've found. The collective that I got it from got it tested at 5% THC and 20% CBD, which is the highest CBD strain I've had up to this point. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Thank you, my experience with and research on CBD is primarily what drove my decision to start growing again. The only high CBD strains I have smoked so far are Sour Tsunami #3 (13% CBD .43%THC) and Harlequin. I get the best medicinal benefits from combining THC and CBD. I'm also a recreational "THC" smoker. My feeling is that high CBD strains will benefit myself and those around me as a strong "preventative" medicine for any future ailments. Amazing that our bodies have an Endocannabinoid System with receptors which are a perfect match for the CBD molecule.

Canna-Tsu sounds nice, I hope I end up with something close to 15% but am not expecting it. I am possibly going to test some of my buds if they strike me as particularly high in CBD.

Here are some pics I took tonight of some of the CBD ladies

I think I might have found a hermie. The top cola of the Purple Kush had what looks like a partial pollen sack. It resembles one of the "fingers" of a pollen sack after it opens and looks nothing like normal flowering.
Didn't see any pollen. Anybody know if this is definitely a hermie?

Yes, that is definitely a hermie, commonly referred to as "bananas." Sometimes caused by light leaks during darkness and a variety of other factors, but it could just be genetic (you probably know all this stuff). How far along is the plant it popped out of? Sometimes they will pop out of a female plant when it is "ripe" as a last ditch effort to produce seeds, telling you it is time to harvest. Again, it could just be genetic. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as they aren't popping out all over the place, just pick em off.

Sorry about the nanner!
Other then that I am blown away. What a great line up and they all look gorgeous and fat.

I wish I had some high CBD strains running so I could quit buying at rip-off prices. I look forward to seeing how these gals turn out!

Super jealous :-)

Thanks for confirming, the hermies I have delt with in the past all developed normal pods earlier on. Today is day 60 in flower, no light leaks possible with this setup. I think it is a genetics issue. It is only on one cola of about 8 on the plant and only saw about 3 bananas.

I researched how hermie prone PK is and found that there have been problems with it, especially certain dispensaries in CA. I won't worry about it too much, unless they start developing in greater numbers. I will do a more rigorous inspection of all plants tonight and nab every one of them with tweezers.

My initial hermie concern was with the CBD Crew genetics but I have seen no problems there, very impressed with those plants.
