First grow - how’s it looking?

First time grower looking for some advice.

I’m growing x2 auto flowers (same strain) in 3 gal pots of coco coir/perlite 70/30 mix. Once the seeds popped I planted them both into their final pots. I’ll probably pot up next time as I struggled a bit with the watering amounts which I believe stunted them.

I’m on day 26 today since sprouting and below are some pics. They’ve both been watered with the same frequency and feeds but one is clearly lagging. I’m a bit concerned with the smaller one as it looks to be showing some deficiencies. I’ve checked the pic chart and to me it looks like a zinc deficiency? I’ve been logging all my feeds, environmental variables etc so hopefully that will help diagnose the issue. One thing to note is the pH runoff has been higher for both but I’ve ignored it as I keep reading not to chase pH run off in coco. EC run off has been the same or similar.

Damn, sorry us dtw coco growers missed ya. This site is quiet, I been here for some years and learned if you get no answer.. Theres no one here or they dont know the answer respectfully which can lead to no response. Not many active members daily. I still love it here idk why, just more quality interaction.

Anyway idk how this ended but you did a good job peoviding info. That said I think the answer is you were ranging your incoming EC all over the place. One my plants need 1.7ec while this new one needed 1.2ec. Once I find the sweet spot I keep it there from start to finish as clones.

With seeds you just end up in this situation. Its tough but youll figure out how to find that sweet spot. In this case you could of went right past it a few times not knowing it. So try lowering or raising ec and keep it there for like a week and see results. Something like a week.

Eventually it will grow beautifully with no doubt that you found that spot. The rest is just conditioning the pot to stay clean of bacteria, salt, mineral build up and etc. Those build ups can mess things up creating a guessing game of whats wrong. Youre doing something right for the ec runoff to always be close to going in.

Its hard when theyre young because I dont really see salt build up until its old enough like 5 wks old. Even then it only builds up a little which is a good sign its not feeding. For this phase of growth all you can do really is read the color of the leafs. I grew clones for 3 yrs before trying a new strain and thats what made it all click.

Once you get past that you should be anle to grow any strain. Its tricky I had to go through it to understand it.

I would say they look slightly over watered (few drooping leaves) and cut back someon the nitrogen (very dark green) as well as slightly back off the over all nutrients (leaf tips browning a bit) and see where it goes. One thing many don't realize with autos is that depending on medium (I use LOS) my soil will carry me through at least the first 4 to 5 weeks without having to add nutrients, just feed to microbes. After week 4-5 I will start my feeding but starting with 1/2 dose thenm ramping up to see what transpires. If it starts to show any burn in leaf tips, I will back off some with the dose. If it stays perfect I will increase the dose slightly, but never more than a full dose + 1/4. But after week 7 or 8, I just feed microbe food with water and use what the microbes can take from the soil and feed the plant, until harvest.
