First Grow - How's it lookin'?

I dropped a seed in the ground probably about 3 weeks ago (might be 4), and low and behold it sprouted. I transplanted it into a 3.4gal. pot this past Wednesday (it's been outside). Threw together a cabinet and got 3 - 26w 6500k and 2 - 26w 2700k over it now 18/6. Temp. is mid 70's RH about 55%. I did give it a splash of Jack's clasic 20-20-20 yesterday. IT went under lights yesterday. Just wanted to see how you think it's looking so far?

lookin good to me so for man...... in my opinon a 20-20-20 is too much for MJ for veg i use iguana juice its a 100% organic nute no chem ferts and mine are a 3-1-3 for veg and a 4-3-6 for flower...........is she falling over? if so i would stake it with like a scure or something

No, it's not falling over, just the angle of the pic. Trying a little LST on it. There is a stake there, but you can't see it in the pic. It took about 3 hours for it to turn back up to the light. I went with the Jack's mainly because I could buy it local and it was cheap. Soil is Scott's Premium Potting Soil. Maybe a little to early to hit it with some nutes? I did mix the nutes at 1/4 tsp/gal, but don't plan on using it every water, every other most likely, depending on how it's lookin'.

o ic lol ya i always LST my girls too.... ya they dont take long at all to turn back to the light haha .. oic thats understandable seeing as how my iguana juice was quite expensive but is worth every penny in my books..,, no in my opinion its not too early to feed.. i usually start to feed my girls at the 3-5 leaf stage abouts where your are now,,,, ya i think you will be fine is you used it like that and not everywatering, just be sure to keep an eye out for fert burn..... but for the mean time and right now man she is lookin awsome !!!! KEEP IT UP and keep my updated on her i wanna see how she ends up :)

I am unsure of how much water I should be giving. Any advice on how much to water? I guess I'd rather start with less, see how it goes and bump it up if looking underwatered. 250ml? 500ml? Any advice? I'll definately keep this thread updated. Got all my fingers and toes crossed that IT turns out to be a SHE. :) But either way, got a little experience.

hey borther you deff DONT want to over water at that age she is...... i would just water when ever the soil is dry.... if unsure stick your finger down into the soil (make sure you stick your finger along the pot and not in the middle of soil to prevent any root damage) and if you feel moisture wait a day or so more,, and at that small i would not be drenching her,, looks like you are doin fine with the watering right now tho :)

if your plants inside you might want to put a fan on it to get stronger stem for a healthier plant i suggest maybe a computer fan hooked upto a cell phone charger

I was watering a bit to moisten the soil about every 2-3 days and to me the plants jus looked unhappy yet green. Maybe not enough water I thought, so the next watering I took them all out an into the tub. Watered them each a bit at a time till it came out the bottom. It took at least 4 times as much water to just get a trickle out the bottom... the next day the plants looked like they had perma grin. They where all perky, not to much like vertical angle as if to much water.

So the next time the soil is good an dry ya might want to give that a try, use a drip catch pan if the tub is out of the question. Hope that helps ya.

I do have a fan in there, but do need to get it set up a little better. It's not a strong fan though, should I have it blowing directly on the plant? Or is a more indirect flow better?

Most recommend not blowing it directly on the plant, but instead just to make sure air is circulating around the plant. However, when I have time, I try to re-arrange my plants or my mobile fan every few hours to give every plant equal treatment

Here is a new pic from this am. The leaves are curling down a little....overwatering? But there has been some new growth overnight. :)

Looking real good man, I have a couple outdoor plants that are about the same age as yours and some that are almost 2 weeks old under cfl's that I've been fighting with overwatering. One of the tips I got was to pay extra attention to the weight of the plant when its just been watered and when it drys up. Good luck, come by and check out my short riders if you get a chance, there startin to get nice and bushy already!!

Before I moved it inside, there was a pretty good rain, so thinking this is the result of that. I've got another pot the same size, gonna fill it up with soil and see what the weight difference is to get an idea. Thanks for the tip! And i'll check it out.

These pics are from last night. It really hasn't gotten any food up until this point, but fed it this am. I thinking that's why it looks like it does? (lightening from the bottom up) Been a little confused on the adding nutes thing, but think i've got it figured out now. I also topped it the other day, so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully I haven't been stressing it too much.

Also, I noticed what I think were thripes so sprayed it with Fungicide3 and will do another app. in a week. I dislike bugs!

Seeing as it's just bag seed, and my first attempt, this if all more for a learning experience. A little smoke would be nice as well. :) With known strains I would grow them out more, but being new and impatient, more interested in just trying to keep the plant alive (and hopefully healthy) throught a grow. Yield is not important at this point.
