First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

I seen this article on growweedeasy

do you really need a calculator to calculate if the buds are dry?

It's more about getting in that optimal RH and Temp to fit in the 7-9 day goldilocks zone. You don't want buds to dry to fast and too long is just as bad. There was some surprisingly good research to go along with that calculator, but I didn't bother to save that lol. I've been growing a long time , and it's honestly one of the most useful tools I've come across. I used it with my last dry and it was actually pretty spot on with what I would consider dry and ready for cure. I tweaked my RH slightly to go with my ambient temps.

I'll add that I've never used a machine to dry my herb. Just a dehumidifier that I could set to 58. I've also found that when I was certain the buds were dry after 6 days(branch snap test) I jarred them to start to cure. Next day a good bit of the herb seemed to be about how it was on day 2 or 3 of drying. So big brown paper bag that I didn't seal, just rolled the opening several times. But that was perfect for finishing my dry.

Good work broseph!!! At that finish line BAYBAY!! If I had to guess, 3-4oz each girl. Imagining each of your main cola's is probably 7g's or more is where I got my estimate. Do share your harvest efforts! I love that purple. Shit I won't be smoking it, but I'm excited to hear the difference in the buzz from them.

well since that's whole cola/branch pre-trim weight. 6oz on the purp, 5.11oz on the cookies. I'd imagine half or slightly less of the current weight. I know in my reading over the years, expecting 20% drop in yield was common when weighing well trimmed bud wet.

I know since my grows are personal I don't go crazy with the trimming, Those Trich's on the sugar leaves are worth burning IMO, though they detract from bag appeal. Keep us posted! temp when drying, relative humidity, etc.

Overall it went far better than I expected now hopefully I can dry and cure without mold.

Currently managing to keep the tent at 60f/60% RH

One thing preached to me by many - no standard is perfect for every grow situation; though the science numbers are crucial there's always wiggle room. 60/60 is common, and you're vigilant and diligent. No joke growmie ---- your efforts are perfect refreshers for my 2-3 week harvest from now. Lol so w/e comes of all this convo and what you do is solid education for me bongsmilieo_O:-D

Drying going well so far. Think I will be nearly there Saturday night so about 6 days. Possibly a little fast but no sign of mold which was my many worry.

They both smell really sweet, purple lemonade kinda smell like oranges,

The buds look very airy and not very dense. Not sure if they will look any better when they are trimmed. But regardless they should get me stoned.:bigjoint:

Mine did as well on my first harvest. They do seem to tighten up a little over a month curing. And Eyyyy some of the best herb I ever smoked - got legit mild visuals, was airy. You got your hygrometers for your jars or bags?

You'd need to have good negative air pressure(walls suck/bow in when you zip up tent) in the main tent to really move air through 4"ducting from a neighbor tent(drying tent). Not to mention then you gotta get a mini dehumidifier or something to help regulate the rh in the drying tent. bongsmilie
I disagree. Depending on how big your main is it pulls enough air through the drying tent, actually the slower the better, in that small little box you also don't really need a humidifier. Worst thing that can happen is your plants dry a little quicker. I like to smoke my stuff asap so... I don't mind that at all.

Right on. Honestly, im considering brown bags just bc money is tight and Christmas. My first harvest i did a hang for about 5 days, then stem snapped, so i jarred to start cure. Next day the buds were wet again so i finished in paper bags for another 2 days before returning to jars. Turned out well.

dreadedbud! Hows the dry going? Tomorrow makes a week! Pics?
