First greenhouse grow... any tips?

New grower here!

With warmer weather on the way I've decided to try outdoor growing and went ahead and invested in a greenhouse for my ladies.

My greenhouse is a 56" W 56" D 77" H walk-in that I plan to put in the sunniest spot in my yard.

The way I plan to grow is on calm sunny days I will take the plans out to soak up direct sunlight, and on windy/rainy/cold days I will move them into the greenhouse. I live in the Bay Area (south bay).

Looking for some tips or things to avoid when outdoor growing using a greenhouse. Open to any advice!

Thanks

We found we had to be super super on top of mildew and bud rot. Way more so than just outdoor. The high humidity of the greenhouse is great in a lot of ways but oh my God you can go from zero bud rot to noticing a mess of it in no time. I’m gonna start mine in the greenhouse this year then move them outside and when early fall and rain start to hit I will move them back in blasting them with huge fans all day every day.

A short plant in a greenhouse?

I am not sure what the question is. But yes, either one of those will stay in the greenhouse for the entire grow unless I see a reason to move it outside. Please let me know if you think there is a reason not to do this. I have never grown Auto's before.

Are you legal? I think anyone here would wonder why use a greenhouse and then run a short plant? Just curious.

Yes I am allowed 4 plants. The other two plants that will be grown outside will be White Widow. One will be in a pot and the other one will be in the ground.

I was just going to suggest they were going to need a bigger boat. Lol. That space won't last long... For autos idk... But they will still want to get a bigger one. It's like buying a boat. You just keep wanting a bigger one.
Or guitars and wanting just one more.

I have had the greenhouse for over 20 years. It usually only gets used in the spring for plants to use in the veggie garden and flower beds. 2 years ago I was allowed to grow weed. The first year I was allowed to grow I had 4 plants from unknown seed and last year I grew 2 White Widow plants. There is no way there enough room to grow a full sized plant in it. That is why I want to try an Auto or two.

Do you guys know me? I do have a greenhouse and a boat (16' sylvan) and a guitar (1952 Martin D28) Lol

Cool! Now build a big enough greenhouse or hoop house to be able to grow ten foot tall plants in,, play guitar in and park your boat in the off season. LOL

I took this pic today. As you can see it will not grow a full size plant. But an Auto may do well sitting on a bench in there. The tools and most of the other stuff in there will be out of there in a few weeks.

thats all you really need a greenhouse for. unless you want to grow pristine buds that wont get beaten up by rain and wind. i might set up a greenhouse at the end of the season to keep the buds safe from the rain. pretty much build a shitty polyfilm and lumber frame over a few flower beds. havent decided on the exact setup.

Have fun and dont overfill. You dont want fan leaves resting aginst the glass traps moisture and potentially can cause mold/fungus. And praying mantis are great in greenhouses. They cant excape and eat everything they're carnivores wont harm plants in any way.

I grow in a greenhouse every year. Use neem oil for any potential mites. I had spidermites last year and neem oil cured them. Set up fans if you can and watch for humidity. Local grow stores will sell a product called Nova that will cure any powdery mildew, but only use it if you are in veg. Also be prepared for spacing. The plants grow very large and if they take up too much space your ventillation will suffer. Sometimes I do low stress training to keep the plants from growing into the ceiling and burning the tips.
Im growing some blueberry indica this year. Last couple years I grew a really nice Jack Herrer. Happy growing to you!
