Boy, THC sure is trying very hard to convince us that LED is the best thing since sliced bread. Makes ya wonder huh?

...sulphur plasma technology... there is actually a newer version of this coming out that will be 'cheap'! Can't wait.

Similar in intensity to HID, but don't be fooled by the green in the spectrum, this thing really grows plants! But the older models cost an arm and a leg... sucks.

I think that all of this discussion about the LEDs has gotten completely away form this guys grow. He's using them, he isn't forcing his opinion on any one else (la9), and is trying to do a good first grow. Lets encourage him, and help him, not bag on the lights all day guys. He is waiting on some hps's so he's getting better lights for bloom, leave it at that.

He can ram his opinion down your throat if you want, but he isn't gonna go unchecked with his unalterable decision that LED is the best light even. Not even close at present time.

Lol I didn't even realize you were bagging on T.H.Cammo, obviously its not his journal, I thought you were talking about littlegrower. But that asside T.H.Cammo isn't tryin to say they are the best thing ever, did you even read all his posts? He clearly says in an earlier post, that"In "theory", they should do well - in "fact", they don't!".

lumens are how humans percieve light, not plants, its not really applicable because they are casting color spectrums that the plants use more efficiently, not lumens

You are correct, do you want to compare it in LUX instead of Lumens ? Do you really think if we measure it in LUX the plant will think 45 lumens is brighter 50,000.

Hands down the plant thinks the HID lights are Brighter than LED's.

I don't know why no one has picked up a piece of sheet metal and made a U shape for a reflector on that light. That would help direct the light better.

actualy YES heres my proof .......my ATA TUNDRA plant day 16-18 from seed ,vegged under a RED 125w enviro , because i broke my 250w blue vegging bulb , notice how tight and bushy this plant is , please show me a ufo grow that produces a better plant in less than 20 days .and this plant would be better vegged under the blue 6400k bulb so its not a totaly fair comparrason but it gives you the idea .

its all to do with PAR and envirolites are 100% correct par for growing plants NON of the light it emmits is wasted .

Hey, I was just joking with you, of course a 125 watt CFL will beat a UFO. The point is anything on the market outperforms the UFO.

A lightning bug flew by one of my plants and flashed its butt, and my plant grew more than it would under LEDs.

oh yeah, check this out, The led's do such a good job and have the right color spectrum dialed in so well that they are selling a UFO with half watt led's instead of the full watt ones. The cool thing is it only costs twice as much as the original and you are getting half the light, how genius is that ?

They figured out the 1 watt LED's they were using was OVERPOWERING the plants genetic code to grow and by cutting the wattage in half the plants grow 10 times better, in fact this new half powered UFO is comparable to a 1000 watt hps. They finally came thru with the technology to beat the 1000 watt HPS, unbelieveable.
