They're growers, not showers.

New home... they're lovin' it out of the closet -- I swear they are the happiest I've seen them in just the few hours since transplanting... everyone's looking really perky and happy... hopefully it lasts going to be interesting to see how they respond to the new soil... some of them basically went right on top of super soil. Ride or die bitches.


These are the 3 I am betting are female. They look real happy in their new home.

The rest of the crew... i'm thinking of doing all these single cola but can't decide. it's been forever since i've done a single cola plant...


Chocolate chunkey monkeys on top, bottom 6 are chernobyl x space jill (chernojill) - you can see the chernojills have never had a ph issue... lucky girls... and going into their new homes fast. Those chernojills are going to be like the spoiled youngest child. I got another set of shelf supports like the others are under now and they'll get their own.

7 of 10 chocolate chunkey monkeys transplanted into 1.5 gallons... I ran out of base soil (roots) so the other 3 and the 6 chernojills will have to wait.

Further update on ChernoJills, all still looking very healthy. Looks like runty #6 will survive after all -- it's very green and healthy looking just really small, but it has stretched it's stalk some and the first leaves are growing so it should make it...

So far the timewrecks are looking like they're loving their new home... should have a better idea if putting them in super soil was done too early in the next couple days I think they'll be fine though I used primarily guanos in this mix and no blood & bone meal, plus it has sat for 3 months now so it's definitely broken down well... i can't even see the guano pellets. That dirt is all super soil mixed with base soil and my veg mix (basically super soil weighted more towards N than P) so it's not full strength, so probably they'll all be fine... the very young ones may not like all the N but we'll see.

Only 4 weeks til I gotta flip to 12/12 to stay on schedule... those CSJs and CCMs are still gonna be relatively small, probably a good idea to keep'em primarily single cola.

i'm gonna try and use a mixture of some different techniques for topping, tieing down, etc just to see how they react and compare.

Not sure if you can tell from the pics, but 2 days later these guys are all growing again, regreening, and happy. So far no adverse reaction to the soil mix. When I use superthrive I never see drooping or delayed growth unless I damage the plant during the transplant, which i'm pretty good at not doing (mostly). They seem to thrive once I get them into bigger airpots, so I think next time I may try the rapid rooters germ and then straight from rooters into the 1.5 gallons a few days after sprouting. When I don't use superthrive I regularly see a droop for a day or two even on well handled transplants. Boo.

Hey, nice going Reef. I was wondering how transplanting with those airpots is.. Looks rough.

Nah it's easy the .3 gallons can be a bit tricky because the plastic wants to maintain the circular shape so you have to spread it open with one hand while removing the pot on the other, but the bigger pots are easy you just take the sides off and pop her into her new pot. They have a bottom piece and a side piece that screws together so you just unscrew them and disassemble -- no turning the plant upside down ever like in a normal pot (not that that's a huge problem, but still...). These 1.5 gallons would be easy to transplant into a bigger pot. It's really worth it for the root system the difference between the solos and the airpots was like night and day for roots. The airpots easily had several times the root mass, well developed, and many had a visible mycco web. The solos had weak to modest root systems going, no visible mycco web or fuzzy roots. You look at the bottom of the airpot and it's like grass is growing out of the bottom except it's roots. By the end of the grow the soil and root system are fused together into a spongey mass that can't easily be broken up. I got 4 oz from a 2.4 gallon airpot w/ super soil earlier this year and 3+oz from several other 2.4 and 3.4 gallons. Airpots rule. I prefer them over the smart bags... most people prefer the smart bags (they're a little easier, but IMO not better).

I would be psyched if I can achieve 2oz/plant off these 1.5s... have not achieved it yet but I did not use super soil last grow and did a different light configuration (big big big mistakes, also had all kind of issues it was the grow from hellll) I'd love to beat my yield record in the 3.4 gallons this round, but I don't think I'll have enough veg time.

Sounds like a dope system. By chance have you experimented with fabric pots at all?

Yes the smart bags... they are easier to move around, easier to water and a less messy than the airpots. The thing I like about airpots is they allow air to move under the pot as well not just over the sides the smart bags leave a lot of moisture at the bottom more potential for root rot/overwatering issues, but they're probably pretty equivalent. I just prefer airpots. They fit together pretty well so it's pretty good for space management and I like the hard sides. The smart bags let the soil shift if moved or disturbed which can cause root damage. Also I do LST a lot and tie down the branches and the airpots are super easy to tie down to the holes I can train them real easily and make nifty bushes and I really like that

Came home to a flooded house today (clothes washer leak)... lights are off because i'm running the heater and it's warm outside... they're all doing great. Timewrecks have all either completely regreened or regreened as much as they're gonna and started putting off new leaves. CCMs and Chernojills look good so far, not a lot of visible difference yet post transplant.

I went ahead and made the plunge and ordered a full co2 tank system. So by this time next week the babies should be getting 1250-1500ppm co2! I'm excited to see how much of a difference it can make in veg growth... hoping super soil + air pots + co2 is gonna result in some crazy yields.

Haha lovely! Just read through the journal and sounds like you got those ladies under control! They look lovely also. I am a big fan of paper towel method myself but of course to each their own!

They're all under control now and lookin good. I gave the TWs 50% of the mild dose of the 1-1-1 Gen organics root stimulator... all the TWs getting to a nice deep green the way I like'm. Couple showing very mild burn symptoms and one very minor N curling but all very acceptable amounts... I like to get'em a nice deep green (bordering on over-N) right before they go to flower so they have reserves for what's coming... those poor aces I let go in medium-light green just yellowed so fast through flower.

Anyway, the CCMs are growing and looking a nice healthy med green, starting to grow after their transplant. The ChernoJills are looking flawless nice deep green. Couple of runty CCMs and 1 runty chernojill going to have a hard time adjusting to the roots soil probably, but they'll grow into it. The ChernoJills since they've never had a problem are already catching up to the stunted CCMs and TWs that were in solos... not quite caught up, but close... they won't catch the bigger timewrecks though they are really starting to take off... I now think the 3 1/2 weeks left of veg will be plenty for the size pots they're in especially since i'll have CO2 pumping in there next week and they'll all be getting mild nutes the last couple weeks.

Ooh in a couple of weeks it's gonna be time to start sexin' the bigger plants.

CO2 delivery set for Tuesday. Tank is going to be held at local office so I can pick up and get filled at hydro store on the way home. Equipment should be delivered around 6-7pm... should get it in there before lights out at 9pm I'm gonna shoot for 1250+ ppm range.

I'm trying to be patient with mine too beech... it's hard to be patient when you need a harvest badly and miss having flowers. Unfortunately gonna have to start from scratch next grow probably since I'm moving after this one...

Proper... I just checked the status on my packages... for some reason since I changed the delivery on the tank to a local fed ex office, instead of getting here tuesday, it arrived at the fed ex office today!! So I'll be picking it up and getting it filled monday, and it'll be sitting in the grow room waiting for the regulator and controller/monitor to get here Tuesday evening!

The 3 big pot TWs (that I still think are female -- they are staying squat) -- notice there are two leaf phenos -- one fat leafed, one thinner more hybrid fingered. Same goes for the other TWs...

The smaller pot TWs - takin off -- all the TWs got a light watering with superthrive and 50% dose of gen organics rooting formula (1-1-1)

Just got back from big D with some FFOF and ammendments.
You get the Co2 yet....Ive got the Tanks i just need the regs,As you know i own a Hvac bus so its esay to get em filled.Im gonna use it after this grow when i get the Vegg side sealed.
Nice to see you got 2 diff. Phenos.Im looking like a hawk now for a good pheno.
