I am on my second grow. I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I am also using Grow Big, Big Bloom Tiger Bloom, Open Sesame, Beatie Bloomz, as well as Cha Ching. I am grow white widow and it is a tits ass grow. Just awesome results. My first grow was with roots organic. Out of ten beaners that germinated, two survived into forth week, but were so much smaller than now. I ended up flowering one plant that just sucked. It was a Indica Dominate white widow that took alomost 11 weeks to finish. Yield was junk, and I was using HPS and roots organic line up.

Now, I am using all fox farms and cfl's and I am Mclovin It!!

That's a great line up. Your buds are going to be awesome sweet as ever. I stand by FF all the way. Make sure you give grow big into the first 2 weeks of 12/12 and as soon as you see flower tops use (as Directed) the Big Bloom. Do post pics of your results with FF. There is a site FF site around here somewhere? In my albums, it's all FF Line Up, until recently when I went Organic. You have had the same results in RO as I am now with 2 different strains. + reps for sharing.

Both strains (Double Diesel/Red Dwarf) are so ripe that the buds look like they will squirt resin, so they where harvested yesterday. The smell on both is very strong and getting stronger as it dries.

The 2 in RO is still not dense like the 2 in FFOF and not smelly either. Smaller buds on both in RO. I don't think they will Dense up? Weight and Potency will also be factored in and posted. Should have it all in early next week.
Last Picture has the FFOF DD on right, I let her dry out so I could safely harvest her with out fear of mold in dense buds.

I agree with this you have done nothing to sway me either way and have wasted everyones time including your own with this test

You need to have the same plant in both containers cut at the same time for a true side by side for your soil test

Hope you have fun

I too appreciate the effort, but the key to any controlled and accurate scientific test is 100% consistency with the only variable being the one tested, IE: The soil.
When there is more then one variable in a controlled test the results are erroneous. Period.

I've started from seed many times, and I've seen 5 or 6 distinctly different phenos from a 10 pack of seeds. I understand both showed inferior results, but is it possible that the better phenos were both started in Fox Farm? Yes, VERY likely. The pictures even look like like different phenos; one leggy, one short and squat, etc.

About 2 years ago a friend of mine did 18 Querkle clones all from the same mom. 9 in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and 9 in Roots Organics. Both 100% organic, both using Biobizz nutrients. And his results were different. The final product in Roots Organics all had thicker stems, and a more robust root mass which ultimately lead to a larger yield. We didn't cure and weigh them separately, but if I had to guess 10 to 20% more. Visually it was obvious, so we didn't see the need to. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures documenting our little test, because it was really something we did just for shits and giggles.

I would encourage you to do the same test again using clones from the same mother in identical containers, and do at least 6 this time; 3 in FF and 3 in Roots. It would be interesting to see if your results are more in line with ours, or if you get similar results.

Again, good effort just too many variables.

Cheers.

boo..........you have no pics to back you up?

I get it, too many variables. But not in my garden. No sir no way, No Roots Organics. I lost several seedlings in RO soil. That's a fact. How much time and bud does one care to waste to see what works in one's garden? For me I keep it low, and go with what outshines the rest, and that would be FFOF.

Unfortunately no, sorry. :-(

I would do it again and document it, but I've since switched to building my own soil SubCool style, which is a highly amended 100% organic soil. His proven recipe provides everything the plant needs from beginning to end, no need to apply fertilizer EVER. Just plain water...And it produces the finest dank imaginable. Anyone still playing with FF or plain Roots, should do themselves a favor and read the entire thread.

Good Stuff~ FFOF.
Love the side by side Golden. I remember you telling me you were going to do this and I was interested then. I lost track of you for a bit but wow I am a fellow FFOF and I can say when people talk about what they get out of their plants and I almost laugh. I have had 2 consecutive grows where I pull on average about 2 1/2 to 3 ounces off each plant. I am not sure but when I hear others talk about harvest many times they are talking about 1/4 ounce and they have 1000 watt systems. I am only working with a 400 watt. Not sure but I am going to stick with what I have had 100% germ rate and excellent results each time. FFOF all the way. Switching up my system to a 5x10x7 grow tent so should be exciting with the new lights and everything I am getting.

Thanks B Dub. Yeah your tent is going to be Kick ass. I am now running to 600 and I am stoked. Yeah The FFOF 2 well they are really dense and crystal covered in trichs, both harvested. The 2 in RO well they are not covered in trichs but there is some trichs , and not dense at all.

Thanks man should be tits. I am stoked as well. I see what you have done and it amazes me so 1000 watt is exciting and once I increase I am looking 2000 plus my other mom room and veg room. Bahhahahha. Not sure yet how I will work out the mom room I really enjoy growing from seed so we'll see how I work that.

Hey Golden,, mucho thanks for the heads-up!

Question: Pics of your setup show you have both an HPS on flowering plants and a T-5 over vegging plants in the same closet. I'm curious to know how you're treating the light durations for both applications?

Also, what is the maximum amount of plants in 5 gallon buckets do you think you can grow under your 600HPS?

I was running a T-5 over my vegers and the 600 HPS was over some Auto's. They where both set on 20/4. I was starting a new season and I figured by the time the auto's where done the veg'ers woul be ready to flower. Worked out ok.
I was thinking about 6 under each 600 (I have 2) but the problem I am finding with 3 ~ 5 gallons under one light and 6~ 3 gallons under the second light is the humidity. I have a 6" inline pulling air off both lights and a 4 " inlne /filter pulling air of the top, still humidity is a major concern. I am going to stick with 4~ 5 gal per light. That and being they are in a wide 5 gallon container, I get a nice fat canopy and I just do not see getting more than 4 plants under the light. Looks like 2 would suffer hard if I added them.
