Feed immediately after flush in veg?

I flushed because of Mag def now im wondering if i need to feed, possibly through the foliage? Plant 4 weeks old. I flushed yesterday and they seem to be doing ok but im sure the flush depleted all of their food. I hate to water because the medium is so damp although the pro mix bx im using could probably withstand it. I was thinking of possibly foliar feeding with ff big bloom and epsom but not sure what my ratios should be or how much i should spray. The runoff after the flush was 6.5 so i think my ph is fine.

yeah man...feed like you normally would...just at a lower ratio and work your way up to full strength. I never start feeding my plants until they're 4 weeks old anyways. Sounds like you fed too soon, which is why you are where you are now....

I just flushed yesterday so should i wait for the soil to dry out ( 1 week) or go ahead and add nutes to the soil today or maybe foliar feed today?

rnyman, hey, dude have you found anything out? I have been trying to find the same answer. I flushed 3 gal pro mix/20 percent perlite monday night. I had been watering with ph and pretty sure it caused deficiency (pics in another post) so i flushed them with adjusted ph @6.3 and then fed them half strength with the last 2quarts of each 15! gallon!!
It doesnt make sense to me to starve them when i flushed them because of deficiency to begin with....idk though.
I have the same problem regardign watering- i only water once a week because promix is so good at holding h2o i dont wanna overwater....at this rate they wont be fed until monday. what did you decide???

the plants need to have nutrients in the growing medium in order for them to survive...a lower strength dose of nutes is necessary for the feeder roots to grow...encouraging root development...

simply put...low dose of nutes after flush, then gradually work up to full strength...

water, feed, water, feed...

I had to flush mine the other day.I waited a couple days to let soil dry out and cut off dead leaf ends. there alot happier now!Trick I learned from this.Use foxfarm ocean forest.Let that do your feeding for first 3 or 4 weeks.

by water, feed, water, feed what would you suggest in my current situation? I only water once a week because of overwatering. the promix keeps for a week. I was planning on feeding them monday at full strength but they are worse today a little it seems. no better that is for sure. thanks.

dude, my plants are doing awesome now, but the problem is i was trying so many different things at once that i cant pinpoint exactly which one was the ticket. Or if it was a combo of things. If i had to guess i would say that lowering the ph to 5.9 (im using promix bx, i.e. soiless) and finally giving them a good dose of Grow Big(6-4-4) is what did it. I really think they were underfeed or the nutes were locked out due to ph. The new growth is def free.

And i went ahead and watered/feed when the soil was still damp and they liked it. It only took 1.5 gallons to get runoff( 5 gallon pots). You sound like you have good drainage so if i were you id go for it.

Ill be watering every 4-5 days until my girls tell me to stop now too. I think the schedule ill use is heavy feed--light feed-- light flush all with ro water.

Some other things i was doing doing that could have helped were:
-It was my 2nd full dose of cal/mag.
-3rd watering with store bought RO(my tap is hard with chloramine).. Have read from a few places that cal/mag is a must when using promix or RO.
-Also didnt feed any big bloom this time.

Hope that helps you.

renyman,
thanks for the advice man; I really appreciate it. I went ahead and watered them with half strength feed. I noticed the other night that the two plants that looked good had a more yellow pee when i tested the runoff. It took about a quart each to get them to drain. I plan on watering again monday assuming they are still alive!! heheee!!! anyway, thanks for the info. I only used the iguana juice grow by AN and piranha by AN. Not sure about cal/mag til i get feedback from AN. I trust you and have read the same things I just dont know what the piranha and IJG contain.....Don't wanna mess it up!!!!

Oh yeah, how long do you think it will take before i notice signs of improvement??? thanks, again!!!!

It probably took 36 hours for them to perk-up. And theyve been like that since with awesome new growth. The botaincare Cal/mag plus is pretty cheap, like $20. I ordered it from wormsway and they had it here in 2 days. And like i was saying before ive read from a few places that its a must when using the good promix. What kind of promix are you using? Maybe try lowering the PH to high 5's- try it on one plant. What was your run-off?

Another idea would be to add molasses. It has a significant amount of cal and mag i believe.

Did your spots and yellowing start from the top leafs or bottom?
