Federal penalties versus state penalties...

Hey everybody, I've been reading up on state penalties and it seems that almost everywhere you could expect AT LEAST 1 year in prison for cultivation of less than 50 plants. But Federal laws say there is a maximum punishment of 5 years for first time offenders. I don't think everybody that gets caught growing is indicted for federal charges however... Does it depend on the state? Because technically somebody growing 1 plant could face a total of 6 years even if they're a first time offender. Please shed some light on how this works, because I live in the Northeast and would like to grow a few plants for recreational use, but won't if there's a chance 5 friggin' years. Thanks!

why would i get life in prison for cultivating? i'm not sure what you meant by harmful or by radiation... can u please explain?

i think it was a joke but,...if you cant do the time, dont commit the crime

i don't get the joke? i've been researching it on my own and it turns out 99% of the time cultivators are not federally indicted. i think a good portion of the people on this forum growing without medical cards are banking on facing state charges only. Is it safe to do that? It's not the easiest thing to get information on. Why did you think it was a joke?

lol, ok i get the joke now... thank you for pointing that out... but really, has anyone ever heard of a busted cultivator being made an example of by feds, after growing only a few plants? what if he/she had like 8 plants but they were huge?

Nope never have. But the fed's suck ass. they do what they want when they want. I'm sure they have pinched there fair share of small time growers just to boost there numbers.
