Ok so ill ask again, whens the last time you calibrated your ph monitor

I don't use one for this type of application. However, the monitors I have used were for saltwater/reef applications, and I like to always be sure the instruments are calibrated when using electronic. The Chinese-made devices, while far less expensive, seem to be prone to requiring frequent recalibration. Obviously, you can't test soil with reagents the same way you can test aqueous/liquid solutions, otherwise that's actually what I would prefer (it's very easy for me to distinguish color changes with a good graph).

A pH difference of two FULL points is HUGE, and in my opinion renders that piece of equipment useless, you'd get better readings using your finger.
Again, this is with regard to my experience in aquatic systems applications.
