Facebook & Social Media

you realize this is social media? your success at filtering content is dependent upon the platforms you use, the criteria you use to filter, and the mechanism you use. you have to be able to differentiate between trolling, the active spread of disinformation, the "innocent" spread of disinformation, due to morons parroting back what they digest, and earnest posts that are actually trying to disseminate useful information.
if you are able to do that on the fly, i think elon musk would like to talk to you, very much...

Facebook is a complete joke. There is a reason why it's lost so much value in the last year. It's a garbage platform that people are leaving in droves. Zuckerberg's attempt to revive the company with the stupid Metaverse is a joke. Why would anyone buy a VR headset that can cost thousands of dollars just to interact in that cheesy looking VR world? It is just stupid. That's why the company has lost $700 billion in value over the last year with $100 billion of Zuckerberg's wealth evaporating.

social media is going to get hit hard, they try to tell people what they want, instead of listening to the people tell them what they want. they put miniscule effort into policing their own platforms, when consumers and advertisers both want more. the new is worn off of social media, now people are going to start picking nits.

that won't matter to rob, he only reads "news" that agrees with his own personal biases.
real news makes him question his own bullshit, and we can't have that.
My personal bias is that you should run your own life, as I should run mine.

Which part of that "news" is bullshit and which part, if any, offends your personal bias?

They can kiss my nice round backside. No way in hades I'm paying $11.99 a month to verify my identity on their crappy failing platform.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today that the company is rolling out Meta Verified on Instagram and Facebook in the U.S. The subscription service, which first launched in Australia and New Zealand last month, allows users to add the coveted blue check mark to their Instagram and Facebook accounts for a monthly fee. Meta Verified costs $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month on mobile.

If you haven't seen this yet, I recommend watching it. There is a strong connection to cannabis farming that makes it interesting.

It would take something like that to make me watch that kind of bullshit.
I have VERY little faith in cryptoanimals existing...Satellites can spot a gum wrapper in a forest from orbit, but there's never been one pic of bigfoot, nessie, a yeti, a chupacabra, a hodag, gowrow, champ, or ogopogo...
The 50/500 rule pretty much dictates that in order for there to be a viable breeding population, people would be seeing these things..and they are not.
