Ez Cloner / Clone Box / Why Stems to Mush..?

I’ve asked so many people and it may be.. that they’re right but it seems like a Million Dollar Question.. the Stems on the Clones literally brown and weaken and hallow out and turn to Mush.. like this is impossible as the temp.. water.. clonex.. humidity is all spot on.. I’ve never even really seen this before or thought it could be... I mean you can put a clone in a cup a water and it’ll try to root.. lol so I’m a Clone Box with Clonex and the purple syrup rooting hormone should be Ez as the dam name.. lol anything helps.. sorry much love..

Using a Clone King machine, and it's awesome. I had a small issue like the one you mentioned. It seems to work best if the water is a bit cooler. Every morning I put 8-12 ounces of ice in the water, and no problems. Consistent 95% success ratio! All they get is 10 drops of Cal Mag at water change [2 weeks].
You aren't using a dome I hope? Good luck...

95% chance because your mothers aren't as healthy as you think.
2% chance because your temps are way off, too hot.
2% chance your blade was dirty or something is dirty.
1% chance you just suck at everything you do.

Hey brothah.. thanks for the reply.. But yes definitely using a Humidity Dome bro.. that’s like a Must.. tbh’ I’m starting to think it’s because I be leaving the Clones in the purple rooting hormone(purple syrup) gel for too long.. I never thought it could possible since as soon as you put them in the Clone Box it’s washed off.. trips me out.. but yea I’d say the water is 78’ degrees which is warm.. but not just can’t be that as there’s no way as ice cubes is part of taking Clones.. lol yah know what I mean..

I had that problem years ago.. I had a pathogen in my spring water, as soon as the temp was right for roots, the pathogen came to life and MUSH.. I used some homemade Clear Res with pool shock.. Problem solved!

no purple syrup hormone, just low ppm H20; mine root in 4-5 days

no it’s none of those.. lol or I guess it could be the 1% as I be dipping/putting my Clones in the Purple Clonex Rooting Solution for too long.. 30’ seconds Plus.. I think that’s twisting shyt up...
I learned the same lesson, just a dip, load em, get it started..
Really? This happened to you after you would just leave the clones in the solution too long????

Okay cool.. thanks.. but everybody uses a Dome.. it’s to keep the humidity up above 70%.. I mean I’ll try with out but that’s kind of a norm for the world I’ve seen.. I’ll def try some clear res or chlorine.. thanks

Ok. I have the answer.

You need a bit of chlorine. Around 3-5 ppm of free chlorine.

The best way is working with bleach. 1 drop/L of bleach every 3 days. You won´t have these mush stems ever

You don´t need a dome with a EZ Cloner. I have one system very similar, an aeroponic cloner, and I work with even more than 90F / 31ºC without dome
Clear Res good to use too?

Fungus Amongus!

It's a fungus, and that condition is commonly called Damping Off.

It is best defeated with a fungicide, or like others have said, a little bleach or H2O2. It is probably caused by temperatures being too high.
