Extractions at home

We have been using pure ethanol for extracts for a few years. My wife has recently been using the Magical Butter Machine to make glycerin extracts also. We also use coconut oil in a crockpot to make topicals and some edibles.

We also started freezing trim before rubbing it over a screen to harvest trichomes for hash powder.

First live run frozen from chop > freeze dryer > bubble > pressed, 5 grams MM Golden Putang
Nota bene: yes that shows 4 grams but after I compressed it and added the rest in it was a tad over 5. Probably back to about 4 right now.

I have this one and I absolutely love it:

I got mine on sale and it was around 3k. BUT they have my model as a giveaway go enter if you are in the US:

Anyway yeah they are crazy expensive and I'm so very glad I got it.

I extract with coconut oil in a Magical Butter Machine, makes great oil drops and is potent.

I use to do butane oil extractions a lot but I'm staying away from toxic solvent.

After each grow I take my trim and put it in a roller with a screen and I pick up a lot of trichome heads from the trash.

I extract into Coconut oil as well in a Levo II there are so many great machines out there right now!! What's your ratio of material to solvent?

We use 60-70 grams of quality bud with 950 ml of coco oil (2 bottles from the supermarket).

The MBM pulverizes the bud into a powder, the oil is very green.

We have several people who never got a decent night sleep in their life, now getting 8-9 hours a night, every night (my mother for one).

This past month, I published a study on looking at how our bodies process solvents and the govt regulations on residual quantities. Turns out, Isopropyl and Acetone are safer than Ethanol down at the residual level. The most important information in the solvent wars is never discussed. Decades ago the FDA published 'Permitted Daily Exposure' (PDE) values for the solvents. This draws a line in the sand between harmless below and potentially harmful above. Check out slide #8. The residual solvent in a 10mg gummi is 5 orders of magnitude below PDE.

Apropos of solvents:

Home Extractions with a Levo 2.
I want to do a 10 hr extraction with my Levo 2.
I'm thinking 160f for 10 hrs.
My concern is that this will make it a two day affair.
Has anyone infused coconut oil overnight?
If it finishes before I get around the next day does it hurt to leave it in the Levo for several hrs?

Mike

I’ve done butter extractions that sat over night and then I turned the crockpot back non for a few hours the next day. No problems at all.
