Subcool doesn't keep moms, and he's a professional breeder, he takes healthy clones before he flowers his other plants. If I am mistaken maybe someone can correct me, but I am pretty sure he said that on the weednerd.
You're right.

My suggestion of flowering clones immediately after rooting was to have many short plants instead of a couple larger ones that wouldn't have sufficient lighting to be productive.

You can keep cuttings in the fridge in a plastic bag with a little bit of moisture for at least a month and still root them successfully... just my experience. You might not get 100%, but you'll get most assuming they were healthy.

You can also do seeds 12/12 from seed. You can still take cuttings from them at a young age if you think you might wanna keep them around, but it's hard to know for sure until you've smoked the end product.

Check out Sannies shop for some interesting (and awesome) feminized varieties that are cheap.

The good thing about Sannies for me is that every bean has either produced something of B level or higher, to me that is acceptable to clone a few if I was doing a perpetual.

Some people don't agree and only want the A++ but to find that you have to really go through some trouble and if you clone every plant you put into flower you'll have that backup just in case you find the golden goose and you will be able to keep her forever.

OGEG always has some really awesome advice paranoid you should trust him.

We are all students and teachers. Always someone out there knowing or having an idea that someone else hasn't and vice versa. I don't keep mother plants either. Takes up too much space. Clones of clones. Shit, the bag and fridge thing is new to me. Makes sense and in the future if I need to move I can see some potential means of transporting my girls without a bunch of fuss, so thanks for that. I'll have to give it a go. So far I haven't seen a reduction in vigor, rooting issues or anything but I've only been doing it with a couple plants just over a year.

Okay fuck my phone or browser on mobile, or maybe this site, but the above has some sentences out of order, so sorry for that and my same wall of texts

Don't you mean professional pollen chucker? A professional breeder actually takes the time to stabilize his strains. He's not a breeder, he's a marketer.

Thanks for the compliment, a lot of good posters around here worth listening to.

I try to stay objective. You won't get amazing plants from every seed from Sannies, but you should find at least one great-amazing plant per pack in my experience. Sugar Punch is almost exclusively amazing though. I hear lots of great things about Shackzilla too. And like you said, even the not so amazing plants are still good.

with limited light, I believe the best option is to SCRoG. You control the height, you can get indica or sativa, and you get optimal light penetration with limited lighting. even with a SOG you will lack sufficient lighting to get the desired results imho. good luck!
