EU Boycotts Israel

Philistines were from Greece, present day "Palestinians" are from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Before the creation of present day Israel, the country was the Ottoman empire.
So, what you are saying is that the people we now know as "Palestinians" (supposed), were nomads that traveled around the ME, and one day decided to squat in the area known as Palestine, (for at least as long man could write, it was called that in one way or another), which was vacant except for Jews, who after being tossed out of, oops, I meant after escaping from Egypt, turned up on this vacant area (no one liked it there) that wasn't called anything by the way, drove their staff into the sand, and declared this land is my land (god said so). Then those god damn so called Palestinians showed up, and started to fuck everything up. Is that what you are attempting to say, Lordi?
Well, I have to say, that I think that idea (fantasy) is a load of shit, made up by people that just want to change history to suit their purpose. So, prove me wrong, because I have tried to find something to support your ludicrous claim, that after wandering in the desert for 40 years, eating bread from heaven, they just walked into that vacant land and said I'm home.

The Jews were never enslaved nor escaped from Egypt

Maybe I'm wrong. But didn't Israel at one time choose who their daddy was going to be and we made the best offer?

Not really, there was a joint resolution in Congress in 1922 that supported a Jewish homeland in Palestine (that was the actual wording, Jewish homeland in Palestine) thanks to the Federation of American Zionists and the Balfour Declaration. It was post WWII that things became interesting for us because we didn't want England to maintain their colonial Empire (nor could they realistically due to the financial burden they faced from WWII) and all these independence movements, and the growing "threat" of Communism (such as in Greece and the Truman Doctrine). Moreover we needed petroleum and we were beginning to find out that the Middle East had a lot of that stuff.

The official foreign policy stance that the U.S. maintained in regards to Zionism was never one of support, we kind of just silently accepted the Balfour Declaration and never talked about it. Sort of like when someone's trying to tell you their super genius idea and you don't really care so you nod and go "Uh-huh, oh, okay, yeah, alright, uh-huh, yup, yeah. Oh? What do I think about it? Uhm... look at that! Have to go!" When it came time of the UN partition plan, Truman actually wasn't a fan of it. He was worried that if we backed the partitioned we'd piss off a lot of Arabs, and the Arab states would swing with Russia and we'd be fucked when it came to oil and the USSR would be swimming in it. George Marshall thought the same thing. What really drove the US' support of the partition plan in 1947 was Europe didn't want all the Holocaust survivors because they were now refugees, and their was a worsening humanitarian crisis going on with all the Holocaust refugees (they were put into camps that while they had much much much better conditions than concentration camps, they were still lacking in basic things). George Marshall though threatened Truman that he wouldn't vote for him if he backed Israel... and then when Israel unilaterally declared their creation within hours the provisional government contacted the U.S. and to everyone's surprise Truman responded with...

Truman said:
This Government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine, and recognition has been requested by the provisional Government thereof.

The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the new State of Israel.

Harry Truman

We were even working on an alternate plan in the U.N. at the time. Really weird history.

Russia supplied the weapons.
It wasn't until 67 we really came onboard

Oh yeah also what was interesting and I forgot to mention about the US working on an alternative plan to the partition of Palestine was when the US' UN Ambassador heard about this, he packed up his things and left his office, and George Marshall the Secretary of State had to send a State Department official to the UN to stop our entire UN delegation from resigning lol.

Hmmmmm kind of touchy subject, and a very complicated one. The state (Westphalian concept) of Israel never existed, but the Kingdom of Judea did, but along those lines one could say that the state of Palestine also never really existed (though the area was more consistently called Palestine than Judea, albeit some people argue that the Romans changed the name from Judea to Palestinia as a punishment to the revolting Jewish population). That's the trouble with the argument. However, yes, you're pretty much correct in everything else. There have been people there, who were not Jewish, but who were Egyptian, Greek, Phoenician, Bedouin, Roman, French, Assyrian, Arab, etc. etc. etc.. Super interesting, and super complicated history of that area in particular from ancient to modern history.

As far as what the EU is doing I think it's fine. People can boycott Israel if they find their practices questionable, and hopefully the harm to the pocketbooks of people back in Israel will make them ask their government to rethink their policies. One of the big things that brought down apartheid in South Africa was the boycott of South African goods. It's unfortunate though that we have AIPAC here in the U.S. and a lot of the right see Israel as "vital" to our foreign policy in the Middle East when some people actually consider our very close, special relationship with Israel as detrimental to our foreign policy in the Middle East (it's both, and depending on the situation goes more one way or the other).

As far as Netanyahu going to Putin over Syria/Iran, Russia just deployed more Pantsir-S1 (SA-22 Greyhound) systems (one of these shot down the Turkish F-4 in 2012) in Syria for the SAA which is completely and utterly useless at fighting ISIS (Russia said that's why they're going to provide air and military support to Assad) because the Pantsir-S1 (SA-22 Greyhound) is short to medium range surface-to-air missile/anti-aircraft artillery system. Unless ISIS somehow gets their hands on cruise missiles or short to medium range ballistic missiles and Russia decided to export their upgraded versions to Assad then it isn't to counter ISIS at all.

the right is only 32% of the voting constituency..the left is not interested in their shenanigans and does not support them which is 68% of our constituency.

many things will be changing this next vote and netanyahu can kiss our asses..just another politician that's why establishment loves israel so:finger:

Maybe I'm wrong. But didn't Israel at one time choose who their daddy was going to be and we made the best offer?

yes. but the tide has turned..the israelis are users; just like people.. everything's wonderful when it's you to the rescue..the moment they don't get their way..they forget about past relationship and who was there when no one else was..some friends!..good riddance!:finger:

if only nancy had moved her thumb over a leeeeeeeetle bit more..would have looked like she was giving him the finger:lol:

I'm merely noting historical fact. If you want to make up a tale, so be it, but "Palestine" has never been a country. The land has been governed by different establishments over the centuries, but it has never existed as a sovereign nation of Palestine. The ottomans lost the territory and that is that. The British could have named it Trashcanistan and designated it a nuclear testing ground and told everyone living there to fuck off; because that's what happens with war. Instead they designated the land for the nation of Israel.

Maybe the answer to peace in the middle east is to ship the "Palestinians" to a reservation and grant them rights to casino gaming. It works for the United States of America. It will be a cold day in Hell when the Sioux see a "two state solution".

they have proven themselves to be the biggest, whiniest bunch of crybaby's throughout history.

i'm sorry they are soooooooo fucking persecuted..but guess what?..if the shoe fits?

they bring it themselves and have no one to blame BUT themselves!

WW2 didn't give them the right to commit genocide
So now it's a genocide... I suppose you're committing a genocide by sitting in that domicile of yours that occupies land that belonged to some indigenous people before your ancestors came along. Perhaps a "two - residence" solution is in order and you can move in a native family to occupy that home of yours alongside you.

Well if I evict my neighbors then wall them up in ghettos and proceed to take anything they have to survive away.

Then yeah it would be like genocide
