Stupid people are just too blind to see the light......... I have been growing since 1988, and professionally for over 20 years. Go find and look at my grow at thcfarmer, read all the other people's comments and reviews in my forum and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's a bitch when you get ripped off for $225 for 11 seeds- and then they suck. You've been had buddy and in a few months you'll be absolutely agreeing with me. By the way, if you read High Times, you'll see after many years, Dr. GreenThumb changed his advertisements and now makes no mention of E.S. anymore. Do your homework people and you'll see I'm a well known, experienced grower with many successes but THIS STRAIN SUCKS NOW!!!

It been a while since I started this thread but I'll just let ya know that Dr's Kashmir resin Factory is and has been 1 of the 2 base strains that I crossed and have been growing with great yeilds every since. But yeah the E.S sucked and no it is not on his site anymore.

I didn't mean his site, I meant his magazine ads such as in High Times. But if it's gone from his site too, there is further evidence of his customer's unhappiness with this once great, but now shitty- ass strain. Some people just assume that if you had bad results, it's because you grew it poorly. That sometimes is the case, but not this time.

Hello SSHZ,
I am a little confused. Mexiblunt grew ES on or around 9-15-2007 and you grew ES on or around 7-6-2011. There is an almost 4 year gap in between your individual grows, yet you both share the same opinion on the plants performance. Did the parents of ES die 4 years ago and Dr Greenthumb continued to sell inferior ES genetics, or is it your contention that the parents died off recently. If they did die off 4 years ago then how did he keep selling the strain with great success (according to certain website reviews) for that 4 year period. It is still the flagship strain on his homepage. I find this 4 year gap to be a concern in the argument that the strains genetics have been compromised.

Finally, a good question. It's my understanding the new seed run took place between 1-2 years ago. He ran out of seeds, and lost the original parents- he then grew out a large set of new plants, choose a group of new parents and produced seeds. My guess, with no offense meant to Mexi- is that his grow didn't go well because of mistakes he made within the grow. It's a mg whore and most people just don't feed it enough early on. It needs a ton of light to produce denser buds. It's very touchy until flowering. This plant today wouldn't even make my top 100 list! Do some google searches on the strain and you'll see plenty of experienced growers who have given up on the strain because of poor recent results. I believe this strain used to be a monster and some people have mothers that are very old- one guy told me he has a plant mother that is now 14 years old- I'm guessing clones or clones of clones from the mother, etc. My contention is Dr. wasn't able to get the same results as his earlier successes due to losing the parents.

Hey SSHZ,

Thanks for clearing that up I assumed that was the case with the four year old grow compared to your current grow. But like you mentioned I didn't want to offend anyone. I find your review of the current strain a real bummer because I know "this guy" who just got a pack of ES and Chemdawg G13 and cant wait to start them. I guess "this guy" I know will have to be hard headed and try for himself, really no choice after spending near $500.00 on Doc's gear. Thanks for the response.

The problem isn't Dr. Greenthumb or his genetics. E.S. Is VERY!
nute shy. I veg in just straight R.O. with alittle cal-mag and some voodoo juice
And if you flower in dirt, I am almost into week 11 on a few. Pics to come real soon! Unbelievable for a strain rated 42-45 days (hyrdo) & it can be done.

Don't believe this crap above....... with 4 posts, I'm guessing this poster is a GreenThumb employee or using very old E.S. genetics........ Do your homework people by searching others grows and you'll see what everyone who is currently growing it knows: the strain sucks now.

hey sshz.. why all this anger? even if you were right and everyone else was wrong, why flash it everywhere.. keep your anger down.. if you don´t have anything good to say, then just stop saying anything..

im sure that somebody can grow this strain with succes...

Why????? Because people use these forums to make decisions. There is nothing worse than spending a lot of money for seeds and then find out, after 3.5 months that the product sucks. If breeders were honest, there would be no reason to vent. Since some are not, many growers post to help others out by not making the same choices.

To be honest I have been reading these posts for about a year now and never made an account. I spent $265.00 the first time I ordered them. Wasnt very happy cause I didnt have a clue what I really had & I lost ALL of them. Puzzled I started Googling Endless Sky problems and ran into hundreds of people who like yourself hated E.S.
Upon reading further into the complaints another grower said that E.S. is a very nutrient friendly plant. And it is. Dont give up on this strain. Very Hydro Friendly plant tho.
I grew my second crop of E.S. in dirt and wasnt impressed with flowering time, 11 weeks calyxed out (Big Producer). My 4 posts might not mean much to others but when I watch this strain being trashed for over a year it's time to set the record straight on these (Iv'e been growing marijuana for 25+ years and i'm the best) mentality.. Forums like these are meant to educate not criticize.

1. It's not a big producer. I grew 19 plants and one or two were heavy yielders. The rest were not. The buds are very large but light and airy. I got about 1.5 oz. per plant on avg., below average for my style of grow.
2. The quality is only an 8/10 potency wise at best. I even had people complain about the quality and lack of smell and taste.
3. You said you've read 100's of people who hate the strain. That should have been enough for most. You state you've been growing for 25 years and yet you just joined here and all 5 of your posts are about Dr. GreenThumb. I'm guessing you are an employee or somehow involved with him.........+
4. I read the same thing about if being a "hydro" strain now.......... I read the same report you did and doubt everything about it. THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT CONTINUE TO HAVE SOME SUCCESS WITH THIS STRAIN HAVE THE OLDER GENETICS and have kept mother plants alive from many years ago.

But I agree, I'm done beating this dead horse so I won't post in this forum again but "let the buyer beware".........

"I hate to admit it, with all my negativity but today is 9 weeks flowering and I chopped an average size bud, light and hairy(white) but loads of resin. It was dehydrated for about 3 hours in a beef jerky dehydrator. IT FUCKED ME UP. One nice size bong hit is all I did. It's very potent. EXTREMELY strong. So, if you are willing to put up with all the other stuff- potency is an area you won't have to worry about. Signing of til harvest time......"

So, which is it?

He's just a below average grower. Not everyone is cut out to be a caregiver who can grow touchy strains. It seems to me that dr. Greenthumb isn't your problem, it's yourself and your own growing techniques. You'll get it one of these days

People...the above poster is a "Greenthumb" employee. No posts other than defending Doc. Everyone sees right thru it. And also, I don't see anyone coming in after the grow finishes saying they had good success with this strain. I stated it grew fine- just bombed with weak high and straw like in appearance. Most of my customers complain and some wanted a refund.

Just re-read this thread. Thanks guys for trying not to offend me. I was still fairly new to growing when I started with E.S. Some said it's an mg whore. That's a start that even the Doc wouldn't let me in on when I called with my probs, he was very rude on the phone. I have grown many strains since and never had any probs like that. I think I could work with those probs now but find it's just not worth the worry when I already have other worry free strains.

Their isn't many people who want to mess with this strain. 42-45 days? Too good to be true no, not it hydro. A retard would say it was done in 30. I take it 2 weeks longer in dirt. I use Promix BX and Mother Earth Tea by Advanced Nutrients 100% organic. Yes ES is too good to be true, but did you really think it would be that easy? I spent 265 twice, sounds stupid but has turned out to be very profitable in the end cause I own that strain. Pics soon to come soon lights are off

i've grown out the doc's e.s. 2 times. the last time was dec. 2007. i keep all of my lease agreements, so i know the date is correct. i'll share all i remember. first, i did some research on various sites to find out if i could expect any surprises. there were a couple things i read repeatedly. it was very nute sensitive!! as a matter of fact, one guy jokingly said, "it was so nute sensitive, that he couldn't even keep the bottles of nutes in the same room, lol!!!" i found this to be true, very nute sensitive!!! what i read even more, was the fact that it was an extremely potent strain. i also found this to be true. "THIS IS/WAS TRUE, VERY STRONG, TOO STRONG!" i don't remember the exact flowering time, but it was shorter than i'm use to. it was a quick grower, and it was very bushy. i did a lot of trimming! i grow in 5 gallon containers, and do a fair amount of tying down. (i think i have pics somewhere.) i grow in coco coir (hydro) and it grew great! i used house and garden nutes, and some of the h&g supps. at full strength in flower, feed ppm was 800. i keep the ph at 5.8 from start to finish. if the doc still had standard beans (not femmed) i wouldn't hesitate to grow it out again.

Im glad to find someone who likes E.S. other than myself.
It is the only thing I grow, and your right the smoke is very potent and flavorful.
Only for the advanced grower tho.
