Harper has his entire campaign scripted like a play. The hilarious part is everyone that shows up to his rallies isn't on the same page :) It's like going to a kindergarten Christmas pageant and the teacher is just sitting there smiling awkwardly thinking "DAMNIT We've practiced this for months!"

Marijuana prohibition has not worked. The Green Party of Canada fully supports removing marijuana from the drug schedule. The Green Party would legalize marijuana, create a regulatory framework for the safe production of marijuana by small growers, and institute a tax rate similar to that on tobacco. The war on drugs has been disastrous for our country. The Canadian government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars enforcing drug laws and the industry has only grown. All we have to show for our efforts is a drug trade that operates underground with impunity, a mistrust of law enforcement among marginalized communities, and a criminalized youth. As marijuana would be regulated similarly to tobacco, small scale personal production should be supported by the new regulations.

We need a new strategy for healthy and strong communities. The Green Party of Canada believes that it is time to have an adult conversation about ending the war on drugs. This may mean shifting towards an understanding of drug addiction as a health problem, not a criminal vice. By redirecting the millions of dollars spent on law enforcement into mental health and addiction services we can tackle the problem of substance abuse in a simple way: by supporting those seeking help with addictions, not jailing them!

The Green Party recognizes that marijuana use has risks and negative health effects. However, there is little reason to believe that these risks are any greater than those of alcohol and tobacco. Adult Canadians have the right to make reasonable choices about their health, as long as they are also provided with the full information about their choices. For this reason, when marijuana is legalized and taxed, the Green Party would dedicate a share of this revenue to research and public education about the health effects of marijuana. After years of utterly ineffectual policies, it’s time for a new approach to how we deal with marijuana. Legalization and taxation is the only sensible way forward.

at this point I'll take any government that's not the conservatives. For mmj users any left leaning gov(tbh the libs aren't a left party anymore but they do still lean more left then right IMO) will do. It's going to be a minority gov so they will have to work with their counterparts or face a quick vote of no confidence. I take this to mean only legistlation that will be passed will be things that have wide support or wide non caring by us the voters. C-51 needs to be fully repealed but don't count on it. It will get reworked as to be far less intrusive. I'd like to point out canada has never been the site of a true "Islamic terrorist" attack. Lone wolf attacks don't count IMO unless they are being guided and funded by a known terrorist group. Any one can pick up a gun in the name of whatever and cause damage. Doesn't mean they are associated with the known terrorist groups. Also I think any Canadian citizen who leaves canada to fight in any war (not including official Canadian forces action) should immediately have their citizenship stripped. Fuck you stay where you are we do not want you back. And that's for either side of the fight. The Canadian government shouldn't be arming anyone except us Canadians!

So I watched all the interviews...I fell asleep to mulcair, Justin just didn't do it for me, and Elizabeth is the only one making sense to me.....

To bad she's running for the green and not the Ndp. I'd vote for her. After Harper her type of crazy is what we need.

have you listened to her? I think she is fabulous....what is wrong with us being leaders in green technologies? What's wrong with trying to build consensus? Fuck I'd rather have somebody trying to do that shit than someone trying to shove their crap down my throat...
