Can Dyna-Gro nutes be used with coco? I was thinking of doing coco/Promix combo for my soil. Then use Foliage Pro and bloom. Will these nutes be ok to use?

I like promix better than coco but DG works fine with either medium. I'd suggest against using their bloom outside of hydro.

i have and I'm currently using Dyna Gro with coco. I personally have had better luck and yields with Promix HP/Sunshine 4. I get around 6.5-9 ounces per plant in 3 gallons of promix or coco. The coco grows faster in Veg, but doesn't make as big a difference in final yield. I also have to adjust ph with coco and don't bother with promix.

i also use 2.5 ml/g Cal Mag with coco because it shows a slight calcium deficiency when I just RO water. My tap water is fairly hard (10 grains hardness) so tap and Dyna Gro worked well. The tap water plants don't burn as smoothly as the RO ones however. I feed 4 ml Grow everyday and plain water once a week. I use .5 ml gallon Protekt to get my RO water to 6.0. When I use 4ml Grow 2 ml Protekt my ph is 7.0. That's what I feed Promix/Sunshine.

Yea and that's the one thing I can say I learned from RIU Thanks to guys like you. Most people think there some secret formula or step by step way to grow top notch stuff and That's simply not the case. A lot of its is based on a solid general knowledge then being able to analyze problem and use deductive reasoning to get to a solution. That's my goal at this point. Screw grams per watt or how frosy nugs are or mind blowing end results. I want to get the basics down and get to where I want to be knowing that it was skill and experience that got me there, not accidentally getting there by throwing nutes at the plant blindly without really knowing the "behind the scenes" workings
Not too many here are taking this point of view and more should. The hype and arguments on this subject is unbelievable! I can grow using anything, getting good results doesn't come down to what brand you use or how you mix your soil, no, it comes down to experience behind your knowledge. I recommend AN to any new grower because of ease of use...that's it! I can leave a grower for a week or two and if they have followed the instructions laid out for them,(because you see a lesson or two come with my product recommendations)I know what to expect. Once these growers have the knowledge from their own experience, some move into building their own soils, some switch it up but most stay with what they know, not because its better because they now understand it. Homebrewer I am interested in your experience with Pro Mix and Dyna Gro. What size pots? How often do you water? Max ppm? ect ect ect. Thanks.

My experience has been great. I use 5 gallon buckets with about 3-4 gallons of promix. I water when they need watered and the 'max ppm' is kinda-sorta strain-specific. I feel like their 'maintenance' directions are a pretty good starting point to work from.

Oh, and don't use bloom with promix, grow or foliage pro is what you want from start to finish.

Thanks. Do you use a certain amount of run off like with the coco dtw group of growers?

Assuming you have an established plant and 'watering to runoff' doesn't water-log your medium, I like to see maybe 10% runoff when I water. It sounds basic but good watering practices are very important.

I've used Promix or Sunshine 4 and DynaGro for the past year. I yield around 6-9 ounces per plant in a 3 gallon container.
I veg 2 weeks in a solo cup, 4 weeks in a 1.5 gallon container, then a final transplant in a 3 gallon container. I veg two more weeks (4 more for some strains) before they are transferred to flower.
They need water everyday by the middle of flower, but at the beginning may only need every other day.
I start feeding 4 ml/ gallon in flower. It's then important to watch the leaves. I look for "clawing", yellowing or flat green healthy leaf to judge whether to move from 4 ml/ gallon.
I recently tried Grow only (and Protekt) and was pleased with the results. I had been doing a Foliage Pro/Bloom mix with Earth Juice Catalyst and Protekt.

Promix and Dyna Gro Grow is a great way to grow. Dial in your CO2/fresh air, temp/humidity, pest control and keep things clean and you will be able to produce a quality product that is as good as any I've ever tried and I've tried famous breeders buds and Bay Area cup winners.

Here is some pictures of my lowest yielding plant, Purple Kush. This one is seven weeks in flower, it was fed 4ml/Dyna Gro Grow and 2 ml Protekt with RO water the whole time through flower. It should produce around 6 ounces. My biggest yielding strain, SourWreck, produces 9 ounces per plant and most produce around 7 or 8. I can fit three plants under each 1000w light.

Pardon me for the low quality pics. I took those last night on my iphone and wanted to show everyone how simple feeding can produce great results.

Do you guys notice a difference in flavor or any other properties using DG vs. an organic or partially organic line like pure blend pro?

I have been running DWC with DG... my latest grow is coco hempys with pbp and lineup. I have switched to this method for 1. less work and 2. move towards organics for better flavor. I know a lot of people say organics tastes better, so I want to find out for myself. But what do my fellow DG growers think?

I ran Pureblend Pro line, Earth Juice and various organic soil mixes (either blood/bone meal or guano based) and have run Lucas H3ad coco formula, osmocote plus and Dyna Gro. IMO the organic based does give a sweeter flavor, but I don't like to taste fertilizer in my buds. Once you taste a clean bud grown from Dyna Gro or even GH or a CRF and then try an organic version you will taste that "organic" flavor that IMO taints the real flavor of the bud.

I would like to point out that my expertise is in container gardening and even outdoor plants I do go in large containers. I have grown since 1996 (and also went through community college Horticulture Nursery Program)and I don't believe organics are better than mineral salts, especially in smaller indoor containers. The smell and taste of Dyna Gro Grow is my personal favorite.

I really like what Uncle Ben and Homebrewer bring to this site. I recently tried DynaGro Grow with Protekt based on Homebrewers rec and I was very pleased and now its all i use. I used to mix Foliage Pro and Bloom with Earth Juice Catalyst. These two gentlemen are providing solid information that's easy to follow and will produce world class results.
