i added epsom 1g/gal with it. it's low on Mg big time.
my well water has all the Ca i need.

but yeah, if using RO, i'd probably use cal/mg and maybe a touch of epsom for the Su
 
Foliage pro is crap in coco and honestly so is Dyna Gro in general. This is the same company that talks shit about the use of calmag and says their foliage pro was built around tissue analysis and has everything a plant needs. LMAO. Where is the phos and mag??? That’s right, they took out the phosphorus and magnesium from their nutrient line just to put it into their $25 per 1L bottle of MagPro (aka mostly Epsom salts…) this is THEIR calmag LMAO. It’s a marketing spin.

when you see the comparison shot in this thread it is obvious the foliage pro is a crap formula regardless of any marketing they throw at you. That’s basically how my plants look, constantly sickly and always some kind of deficiency. It’s built around needing mag pro. I honestly have had nothing but problems with that crap in coco.my plants never get better, but I can use house and garden with only tap water and grow lush green plants by doing nothing but switching formulas…

FP works good for bullshit strains that grow themselves and never show deficiencies, which I guess is where their tissue-analysis claims come from but good luck growing Chems or OGs with that junk or anything you might wanna actually smoke. You’ll constantly be chasing your tail.

exactly. Just another scam. You don’t even have to look at the numbers in the graph to get a good laugh out of this “complete formula”. They think because they have a 4:1 ca/mg ratio that all is good…well you still need SUFFICIENT cal and mag regardless of the ratio LOL.

regardless I’m tired of all the scams, and even though I love house and gardens, they’re not that honest either. I got jacks on the way so I don’t have to deal with all these incomplete formulas. If I gotta do these weed nute companies jobs by fixing their formulas anyways then I might had well start with jacks…

Many people on here use Dyna Gro from start to finish with great results. It's getting old bashing nutrient lines when all of them use the same source minerals.

If you don't understand that to make a one part nutrient solution you need very specific mineral ratios to even make it stable. It's not harder than educating yourself about plant nutrition, minerals and reading the label.

Using Dyna Gro in coir you need supplemental Ca and Mg but in pure hydro it works wonders. They don't scam, people get exactly what they pay for.
 
I'm in promix and I'm definitely experiencing mag deficiency in the few plants that i do have.
Now my question is can I use the mag pro on it's own to give it the necessary amount it needs (I just fed them using only foliage pro), or should I just go out and buy a calmag supplement to correct this issue?

sounds like a noob problem: blame nutrients in place of grower error.

mag pro isn't needed at all: why would you want 2-15-4 anyway? way too much P. 9-3-6 is a good formula for cannabis (foliage pro). is it really a big deal to add 1 g/gal of Epsom salts if needed? not to me.

i'd fix a Mg issue with Mg supplement. i.e Epsom

I did talk to a representative and from what was said, anytime in a soilless mix (ie Promix, coco) magpro is needed at 2.5 ml (.5 tsp) per gal. for veg stage and 5 ml per gal. for late veg and bloom stage.
She also said to use 10ml per gal of magpro during week 5 as a bloom booster.

I'll give the Epsom a try first. If you don't mind me asking, do you use it every watering/feeding or just when you see fit?

i'd be careful with her advice. i've never needed a "bloom booster" and PK boosters seem to cause more trouble than good.

when i was using foliage pro, i always added 1g/gal of epsom. 0.5% is very low out of the bottle. and plus you get Su which helps with smells

We’re you using 1g of Epsom every watering or just when feeding?

Are there any downsides to the epsom? I'm running just 1/4 tsp FP and seeing definite cal or mag deficiency in one of my plants. Check out the plant at the top of the pic. The rest are recovering from me trying 1/2 tsp of FP which was WAY too much nitrogen. What effect does epsom have on the PH? PPM?

give me some more details. what's your medium? and what's your pH and ppm?

Medium is FFOF cut with perlite. PH is usually around 6.5 which gave me great success in a prior grow. I have a full grow journal with my feeding schedule depending on what info you need. The basics are 1/4 tsp FP every watering. with around 1/4 tsp Protekt, but I abandoned that for trying 1/2 tsp of FP only as Protekt was too much PH increasing which required more GH PH down. The 1/2 tsp was too much N, so I just gave them a plain water feeding of 6.8 in case it was PH lockout. I doubt it's lockout though as there are no signs of obvious fading or dying besides what looks kike calcium def on one and the other have a couple brown spots by the tips which are most likely related to the minor burn. Maybe even a bit of underwatering as they feel a bit papery most of the time as I'm paranoid of overwatering. Going forward I'm thinking 1/4 tsp of FP, 1/8 tsp PT, and maybe something like those epsoms to help the calcium. PPM is around 340-190 for my tap water. I can post an updated pic tomorrow once they dry a bit more. It's only the one plant that has been showing the calcium issue from very early on oddly enough.
 
i'm not your guy for dirt growing.
it doesn't look like Ca to me: looks more like maybe you spilled nutes on those leaves? and generally if only the bottom leaves are showing issues but the new growth looks fantastic, i don't mess with them.

and one last thing, epsom is only for a Mg issue.

Thanks for the feedback. Only other thing I can think of is the ports where the humidifier pumps in humid air are right next to the plant with the issue.
 
@rkymtnman Dyna Foliage Pro has too much nitro in it and it definitely needs mag pro to supplement what it lacks. As a beginner I would definitely suggest it to start out with, but as you develop and hone your skills, I would also recommend something else.

Like rkymtnman stated, that looks like something spilled on the leaves and you placed it under the light without allowing to dry or they were sweating under the light and got burnt.

My theory on that is the mist from the humidifier probably caused water pooling when the lights turned off. Then the lights would finally kick back on and the LEDs would burn the wet leaves. Now that the plants are big enough to generate some of their own humidity I went ahead and axed the humidifier for now.
