1/3 of my plants in the same system is looking like its not going to make it another week,
can anyone tell me what they think is going wrong here - this is my first time in hydro and the system is outside.

We had crazy wind last week which beat them up real good and the plant that doesnt look so great is now even worse than it was.

one photo is of a healthier looking plant next to the troubled one.

looking for some much needed guidance.

Thanks all.

not sure who advised you but trying to run organics in dwc in your first grow is not what i would advise.

not that it can't be done but synthetic nutes would be much easier.

im going to change the water and scrub the tubs now..

why?
molasses feeds microbes in soil, not water.

are these outdoors? spider mites maybe.

root rot maybe?
i dont see any mites which is good, im guessing its some sort of root issue but was hoping someone on here would provide some concrete solution as to whats causing it.. im slowly understanding things arent always straightfrward in this area of growing!

Thanks for the reply

The leaves rotting and curling look like my pumpkins when they are too humid. My guess is that your mixutre of nutrients is effecting the level of PH and you are ading in more PH DOWN which is locking out key nutrients that are needed to flower

also maybe remove the epsoma solts

thats exactly what im having to do...

i bought some dutch pro A and B with the Boost today, took out the epson salts and added a little peroxide to the mix with a small amout of ph down which has me at 6.1 - i am waiting until tomorrow to see if the ph shifts any lower...

i also flushed the system with clean water twice and wiped the buckets i had access to.

already the plants are lifted so fingers crossed! thanks alot for this advice!

well done. you'll make life much easier with "normal" nutes.

what ppm/EC are you at? and what is your water temps ? if you did have rot, the peroxide will kill it. but it will use up the peroxide quickly too. are any of the roots falling off in the res yet?

no they are not falling apart, what i think the issue was, is that i had some additional herbs in the same system from the very beginning..
basil, corriander, parsley and such, that was a big mistake as they are the reason why i am having root issues now i believe..

i will check water temps tomorrow but it is getting a bit colder this week... before temps were between 18 and 21 degrees.

i do not have a meter for ppms etc. how essential is it i get one of those?

thanks alot for your help its really appreciated
