Hello to all! Heard about this community years ago but just now signed up. So here's my intro to the whole community! I've had one very successful harvest and years of reading, so hopefully I can contribute to the boards often. I'm fairly new to DWC, but finished a plant that had gotten too large in an ebb n flow setup in a 5 gallon bucket with two ceramic airstones and a 5 watt pump. The roots went nuts in just a month!!!
trouble, CO2 allows the plants to produce significantly larger and denser buds! not sure on the PPM you should use, but definitely use it if you can!
Question I can't find the answer to....... Why do I remember reading that pH in a bubbler needs to be lower than an ebb n flow? Thought I had read of someone running 5.2 pH during bloom and had great results. I did get nasty colored leaves when I used a bubbler at 5.8 pH, but the plant produced....

hey holmes! gotta work your nutes up gradually... say start off at 1/4 strength and increase each time until they look like they can't take anymore...
Are you cloning? do you have any logs of the strain's nute preference?
i change my water out every two weeks. just top off with what you need between changes.

Hey all, DL i have a question for you, well anyone can answer it if they know the correct answer but anyway.
The bag of rapid rooters i have says to leave about half an inch of water in the bottom of the tray to keep it moist, does this apply to cannabis or what?
And what should my starting nute strength be?(im using GH nutes)

Bro honestly all I do for proven success every time with plugs from seed is the following:
Get a bowl of clean fresh tap water... Take ur spnogue and sqeeze it out in the water a few times to get the old stagnant air out of the plug. Once u squeeze it out a lilllll...U want the plug moist but not wet. You can give it a couple good shakes.
Next drop ur germinated seed into the manufactured whole. I Sometimes slit the plugs with my thumbs so that the taproot is nice and snug in the plug before i place them into the netpot.
I place my germed seeds in plugs flush with the top of the hydroton in the net pot.
Heres the trick.... Appearance of rock...They need to stay moist but not wet...A lil dark but no bubbles popping at the top of the rocks. Remember dry is better.
U want ur water level in ur bucket to cover at least the bottom 1/2 inch of the pot maybe a lil more depending on how much air u have supplying ur buckets.
The air in the water will push up enuff water into the hydroton sufficient enuff to force or manipulate the roots to grow down into the water.I do not feed my plants until the roots hit the water.. Which is usuallly 2-3 days from seed. But 1-2 for clones.
Once U see root popping out of the cups U can lower the level to the bottom of the pots to help speed up the process.
Sorry It took so long bro.... Thats exactly how i germ and i get 100 percent... Further my last seed grow....5 females...1 male. Dont over wet them this will stress them and possibly damage ur ratio's

I'm trying three seeds out right now that way. I have a heat matt under the rapid rooter tray and have both vents on the humidity dome open. I put about half a liter of water in the tray and the seeds in the center. My tray is warped slightly enough to make the water pool on the right side... I've got four 6500k CFL's on a homemade reflector about a foot and a half above them. Waiting on them to pop their heads out (the tail was sticking out so I put them in the RR plugs), but it seems to be REALLY wet in there... it's only day two...
Are you about to do this? I'll let you know how it turns out for me in a couple of days

Bro id suggest u take the plugs and transplant them immediately into a dwc system copy what i just laid out previously and let them dry out a lil.
In three days u could have roots eating water and food.In 2 -3 weeks Ur plants could be going into flower....
I only dome my clones..And Even then without plugs u dont even have to dome them.

You saying you can have alternating nodes in 2-3 weeks from seed by doing this? That would be great!
I only have one bucket ready at the moment... how long could I wait before moving the three seeds into their own buckets?

Bro what im saying is the following.....
Ur bucket is ur nursery..
Germ ur seeds. Drop the tap root in the plug. Put the plug in the net pot how i described.
Put them under low wattage light for 18/6.
And in 3 days u will have roots in the water..
In 3 weeks U will be either topping or placing ur plants into flower stage..
Its really that simple.

OK yall!! I just got a hold of the crosses below. Remember I'm outside the US so I'm waiting to order Serious Kali Mist for my Sativa!!! They're most;y indica leaning (LA is LA confidential from DNA... supposedly a good pheno!!). What do you guys think. Going into DWC to GERM (the only thing I'm concerned about is temp being too low.. What should it be, looking for on thedl's guide now!!)

ST x LA = sweet tooth x la confidential
LUI x LA = legemds ultimate indica x la confidential
CHD x LA = chem haze diesel x la confidential
and then The Beanery mix which is a mix of other crosses...like strawberry diesel hash plant x la confidential,
Everything is crossed with a supposed kick ass LA!! Whatcha think...

Nah I still have alot to learn myself. Just trying to help out a lil. Ive been growing with the plugs for awhile and this is just the way I do things now after all kinds of trial and error. Ive already made all the mistakes...This is how i refined it.
