DWC grow, ANY advice or tips appreciated!

DWC and a 600 hps will give you explosive growth if done correctly. I would flower at around 6" tall, seriously. If you only have 5 feet of height, you'll lose 1.5 feet to the dwc tub and another foot for the grow light at the top. That leaves you with room for a 2.5 feet tall plant. better choose an indica dominate.
Okay I just went to measure and I would have about 2.5-3ft of height. I was thinking flowering around 10-12", would they get to tall then? I've figured they would about double in size, as thats apparently whats typical of AK48

Just veg for like 2 weeks and flip to 12/12, you will be fine on height. Also, I hope you are going to lower those lights? Especially the cfl.

Sweet, 2 weeks sounds good to me, I'll do that for sure. Those aren't the lights I'm using, I have a 600w HPS coming in the mail tomorrow :D. I just stuck those in there for light.

Be able to control your nute temp and the most important thing I found was to filter the air.Put pumps in boxes and have a air filter taped onto it.Everything in the air goes through the pumps and into your nutrients just like Bongwater.Last but not least, think before you raise the lid.I lifted 4 plants up into 400W once.Hope it goes good.

I've got 2 20-60 gallon, 2800cc pumps. One for each tub. I actually saw those round stones at petco, Ill go pick some up. 2 per tub should be good right?
I was talking about the regular stones, not the round ones, I've never used those. They're the same style as walmart but no plastic underneath and they're a darker blue. But yes, 2 per tub should be good. What's the wattage/model of your pumps?

Man they sell all kinds of stones.I used to use 1 footers.Make sure they have a plastic base because they break easily when they dont.Bigger Pumps=Bigger Stones Man.

You can grow a monster in that closet scrog it down real good. my advise to you would be set everything up the way you want it.Let the lights run for a few days before you start. that way you can get all the bugs worked out. you want to make sure your not going to blow breakers, your pumps make enough bubbles, water temps are rite, air temps ect.. I made a hydro unit out of those tubs before with 360 sprayers and the lid leaked so I had to make a rain skirt on the inside of the lid.

I'm specifically saying NOT to buy the ones with the plastic base. They don't let as much air through for their size. I know this from putting both of these airstones onto 2 outlets of the same pump. A 4" from petco caused more bubbles and turbulence than the 12" from wal-mart i originally bought

Yea I've got some reflective thermal insulation for the tubs to help with temps. Ill be sure to keep a good eye on that.

That is a really good idea with the pumps in the boxes. That probably helps keep the stones from clogging too huh? I'm a little confused on how to do that though. Should I just put them in a cardboard box and tape an air filter to the top of it?

Its the double outlet Aqua Culture walmart pump. I was gonna use one per tub. It doesn't even have wattage on the box just that its 20-60 gal and 2600cc per minute. I can take it back if I need to, but I'm hoping they'll suffice. I'm gonna go do a test run here in a sec to check the power. If its too weak then I'll upgrade.

A monster would be fantastic haha. I will def do a test setup like you mentioned, I have to wait on the seeds anyways.

So you think scrog would be the way to go? I was just going to let them go without a screen, but if it'll be worth my time then I'll do it. I was also thinking about topping as well. Anything to increase yield!

Okay so after some thought, I have an idea and need some input. Would it be smarter to put all 4 air stones in one tub, and just grow one big plant ScRog style? I think the 4 stones with the 3.5w, 2600cc per minute, 20-60 gallon pump should be plenty for one tub. I could then utilize all the space for one big plant. I also wouldn't have to buy another pump and more stones for the second tub.

Good idea?

Here's a tiny thing you should do: Raise your DWC Air-Pump up above water level, you could always use one way air-valves.. but these tend to restrict air-flow somewhat.. So if you raise the pump up higher the water will not be able to run back and enter the pump resulting in an electrical hazard/accident etc.. apart from that looks all good, Mind-you I agree with what someone above mentioned and that'd be to double up on Air Pumps and have an airline from each pump going to each bucket/Res. tub .. So incase of one failing the other will continue to aerate the water. Hope that helps :) - STELTHY :leaf:

I will do just that, thanks for the advice. What do you think on possibly just growing one plant with the scrog method? Or should I just stick with 2 plants grown without a screen? Would the difference in yield be worth it?

Scrogs really do yield a lot more out of a small area. It's worth it to me, doesn't mean it will be to you though.

Check out my thread I'll post a LINK shortly .... I grew 1 plant she was a Royal-Haze and I SCROG'd/LST'd her and she gave me 17.5 oz :( so one plant if nurtured well can deliver the goods :)

Wow! That is crazy nice setup, and insane yield. It seems def worth it, I just need to figure out a way to make reservoir changes easy cause I could see that being a huge pain. Jealous though, hopefully I'll reach that level eventually haha
